Morninglight: *Just kind of paws at flora half-heartedly, setting it on bluefire but not seeming to care*
Eveningshade: *watching the flowers burn up and blows at the ashes* What a shame, hmm?
Vidarr | His gaze was drawn to the flickering of the familiar blue fire as it quickly consumed the flowers. With a low growl, he prowled over to his sister as she aloofly continued. He sat down opposite of her, tail slowly wagging behind him as he watched the plants wither in the flames, idly chewing on the cloth tied around his foreleg. He could not help but feel some envy for his sister and her flames; they looked cool, at least. Then again, he also stood out from the litter, dark and menacing, but the young child did not know any better. For now, he just stepped on one of the burning flowers, putting it out, yet also discovering that fire burned him as well. He winced, casting a perplexed look at his sister. "It doesn't hurt you?"
"It doesn't hurt if you don't let it hurt," the blue kit responded in a whispy voice, her eyes a cloudy white that showed no irises or pupils. Morninglight was a bit eerie to look at, and her distant mannerisms did little to make up for it. However, it was clear that not everything her paws touched burned; the grass leading up to the flower left a fiery trail that died out, but it faded away and left little to no scorch marks in its wake. A very mysterious fire indeed. "And if I touched you, I wouldn't let it touch you. You're my brother, so why would I want to hurt you?" she asked with no emotion in her voice, but the sentiment was still there.
"Aww, why'd you have to do that," Eveningshade muttered, though the amusement in her tone didn't match her words. Smiling oddly, Eveningshade eyed her brother and twin sister consideringly. She let out a breath in a facsimile of a laugh at not letting it hurt. What an idea. Content to observe until addressed, she settled in, laying down and letting her forepaws push around the ruined flower. It was curious, how her twin had glowing empty eyes and never seemed to be truly there, with fires sprouting from her paws and then her brother is a werewolf, snarly and reacting on instinct. What was she, she pondered, quirking her ears in interest to see what was said.
Vidarr | He blinked with confusion. "I don't really get it, sis. How do you control that?" He had no control over his urges, for example. They gnawed at his muscles, forcing him into action to fill the void in his stomach, sating his thirst for blood and need for flesh. Just the thought caused his tail to twitch erratically, claws tearing at the grass beneath them. His blue eyes stared into his sister's blank ones. He understood her words, yet found it difficult to voice his gratitude as the hunger overwhelmed him. "I wouldn't want to hurt you either," he began, taking a deep breath in attempt to calm himself. His gaze then shifted to his other sister, Eveningnightshade, a more welcoming face than he and Morninglight. "I wondered what would happen," he replied to her. He found a flower Mory had yet to burn and cut the stem with a claw, nudging it over to Eveningnightshade. "And I wouldn't want to hurt you, either."
Eveningshade felt her grin widen a bit more, but it wasn't exactly a fun happy grin so much as one that would cause discomfort or make others look away, nearly predatory in it's tilt, eyes dancing with a strange laughter. "And what happened was you learned that fire can burn. But with Mory around, not always, hum?"
Her oddities came out more in mannerisms than in her looks, tending towards an almost threatening (or at least what would be threatening if she weren't just a kid) presence, discomforting in how calm and collected she acts, the perfect model of control, with a look that made fur crawl. That creepy vibe was dispersed though when she blinked owlishly at the new flower presented to her, still fresh, beautiful, and fragrant, unlike the one that had been burnt and was currently crushed by her own paws. A genuine smile grew on her maw as she gently pulled the new flower closer and she looked up at Vidarr.
"I wouldn't wish harm on you or Morninglight either, Vidarr."
Vidarr | He licked his lips, nodding. "Yeah, pretty much," he replied. Eveningnightshade also drew envy from him, for she had near perfect control of herself. While her mannerisms left some to be desired, she could control how she felt, something this werewolf could not. He looked menacing and acted as such, though he longed to be more like his siblings. Controlled, rather, in control of himself. He rose to his paws, padding over to his sister's side, then laying beside her, resting a chin on her back. "That's good," he stated, closing his eyes, attempting to calm himself, though an occasional growl escaped him. It was hard.
Being a kit, Morninglight had only so much cognitive skills and vocabulary. If she were older, she'd compare it to having something like another limb or muscle system. Something you just naturally gain control over. But for now, she could just shrug. "I just do." Where Vidarr felt too much, Morninglight felt very little. It was almost like she was always nearly detached from her body, just observing the world around her with very little connection to it. She could see Vidarr's trouble with control very clearly, but she was just incapable of being inspired to address it directly.
After silently watching her two siblings curl up together, Mory stayed aloof and away from them. Instead, she stood up and silently padded off to go hunting. Perhaps she could catch something for his brother to calm him further, while Eve provided the emotional comfort she could not.
Vidarr | It was getting colder. His eyes opened and he lifted his head, eyes finding his sister sauntering off into the forest. "Where you goin', Mory?" He asked. Mory's detachment had a tendency to cause the boy some distress, for he was always concerned that his appearance and mannerisms frightened others. While Mory did not bear the most hospitable appearance herself, he was still very young and the understanding that his siblings were as comfortable with his appearance and behaviors as he was with theirs was beyond him. Others were quick to notice his fangs and claws as well as his incessant growls and snarls, believing him to be more threatening when he was simply struggling to contain the inclinations to violence which plagued him. He kept his family close due to their acceptance of him. He could not thank them enough for that simple gift.
Eveningshade's grin softened to a smile, flicking an ear back at her brother and turning slightly to get a good look at him. She saw his slightly furrow brow, could feel the tense neck against her back and the growls rumbling out of Vidarr every so often. These were all things that she was learning were signs of his body rebelling against his mind, instincts fighting to overwhelm thought.
"Again, hum?" she asked, letting her head turn back around and settling more comfortably, letting her head rest on one paw, the other placed lightly on the stem of the flower her brother had given her. There was no judgement in her voice, just simply asking if his outward reactions were being read right.
More movement caught her attention and Morninglight saw her sister get up and begin walking away. Accustomed to her sister's actions, how she'd get an idea in her mind and do it without ever speaking a word. Usually Eve could tag along and amuse herself, but right now, she couldn't. She considered asking where Mory was off to but saw no merit in that. She would be back, Eve knew she would be, Mory always wandered back at some point. Content with the assurance her own mind provided, Eveningshade let her attention fix back on the task at hand. Er, paw. If Mory did not deign to answer their brother, Eve would take it upon herself to assure him that she would be back.
"Out," was all Morninglight would say on the subject. Hopefully Vidarr wouldn't get the idea to chase after her. If she stated she was going to get food, it was more likely that he would follow, and her emotional lackings would put them both at risk. He was a dangerous animal. Not that she wasn't, and Mory wouldn't be surprised if Eve was, as well, considering the kit track record, but he could go feral at any moment all the time. It was worse when she was the only emotional support available to him. So, as long as he was sleeping, that inner wolf couldn't harm their powerless sister nor himself.
It was just a matter of her small body actually being able to run something down. Astral fire trailed behind her before dying out.
Vidarr | He shifted, rolling his head as it rested on Eve in acknowledgement of her observation. "It's hard," he stated. There was no way for him to really explain what he constantly felt, though his actions and behaviors did not require much explanation for one's understanding. In fact, anyone not a member of his immediate family would be subject to all the turmoil and tension this little child carried, quickly learning the extent of the wrath and bloodlust the little werewolf could contain. Around his siblings and father, however, he resisted all his proclivities to the best of his ability, with an apparent great deal of difficulty of which everyone took notice.
He turned his attention back to Mory as she stalked off, her brief reply leaving Vidarr a little less satisfied than he had hoped. Though he did not know that she was going out for a hunt, her observations of him and why she would rather he not follow were entirely accurate. On a hunt, Vidarr was most dangerous to his family. Instinct immediately overwhelmed all rationality and he lost all ability to distinguish friend from food. He understood this to a certain extent, and rarely ventured out with his family on a hunt. So, he simply voiced a reply as Mory ambled off. "Come back soon."
"It's fine, Vidarr. She'll be back, don't worry," Eve tacked on, similarly hoping he would remain put, though for different reasons. Just as she knew the warning signs of her brother's more ferocious nature emerging, she had begun to notice the way he got more fidgety and bothered with Morninglight, her fleeting mannerisms a bit concerning at times. It wouldn't do anyone any good for him to fall into that state, least of all whoever he sank his claws into, and considering she was the first one in his line of fire, thing would probably be a real mess. That should probably be more concerning than Eve found it to be, but she couldn't find it in herself to care all too much. Relaxing further, she let her eyes draw shut and hummed a tune softly, considering ways to calm her brother.
