With Yolana at his side Merikh was once more heading into Eowyn, grumbling under his breath as he went, "It would have been nice if we had gotten the news a little earlier about these things, huh? We could have saved ourselves a whole lot of time." Two ship rides to and from Soudul in fact... though he supposed at the same time he would have missed the visit with his family which made it all worth it, "At least I got to spend a bit of time at home but still, it's quite annoying." The fact that they had done a round trip from this place, first retreating from the Mara only to come back to hunt down the same creatures that Yolana had wanted to protect him from.

Turning to look at her he said, "See, Yoyo? We could have just stuck around." The first one he fought, while beyond strange, was at least something that he had been able to take down. It was because he had been able to take down the first Mara he ran across that he really wasn't all that worried about any other ones. IN fact he was actually looking forward to this, wanting to fight it out with more of them, many more, since they had a bounty out on their heads. The way he saw it this was yet another chance to show off his strength to the leader of the Oblvionites. To take down the weapons that Aevah had built, to show her that they were as weak and pathetic as her people were.

"I can't wait to bring back a pile of their heads to Lord Draco." He said, eager to get that much prestige for his family and for himself. He wanted to become something amazing after all. He wanted nothing more then to make a nae for himself and to do that he merely had to keep fighting for his people, his family, and for the Dark Lady, "Remember, these battles, like all battles, are mine. Don't interfere unless I get into trouble." He told her, knowing full well why Yolana followed him but that didn't mean that he wanted to lean on her too much. She was here to help him if he got overwhelmed, otherwise she needed to just stand by and wait patiently while he dealt with the enemies that they were going after.

Giving a big grin he said, "Man, this will be fun, it's been a while since we have gone after something other then dragons." Aside from that one time he killed those birds that were picking on the little Oblvionite but he didn't think those counted, they were far too weak after all.

Yolana nodded before reaching a hand out, poking Merikh in the shoulder before pointing to the side. He turned, following the direction he was motioning in to where the two Rock Mara were standing... and instantly he was drawing his weapon. Yolana did the same though she didn't get into the fight, just stood ready.

The moment his sword was drawn Merikh was charging ahead after the pair of Rock Mara, getting the drop on them and his long, two handed sword swung forward in a wide arch to take the head from one of them. It crashed to the ground, bouncing away he turned to face the second one. It came at him, bringing its weapon down at him. He slid to the side, dodging the heavy hammer, before he cracked the Mara in the face with the butt of his sword before whirling around and took off the creature's head with the second strike. The bodies fell to the ground, going still now that they were beheaded, and their glittering souls were quick to flee. He watched, curious for a moment where they were going, before turning his attention back to the fallen Mara's forms.

"Let's grab the heads and get going." He said to Yolana, going to grab up one of them while she got the other. With that they were on their way again, searching for more Mara. Two weren't nearly enough to impress anyone! He would need many, many more.

With Yolana following along behind him Merikh was eagerly scanning the sands for more Mara, feeling that there was no way that a pair of their heads were going to impress Lord Draco or the Dark Lady in any way, shape, or form. No, he would need to take down a lot of them if he were going to try to get their attention upon him in a good way. To just bring back two heads he felt would be more of an insult to them then anything else. If he wanted to impress the leader of his people and their Goddess he was going to have to wipe out a good amount of Aevah's toy soldiers.

"Hmmm, those ones look different, don't they?" He murmured upon seeing a pair of what almost looked like knight in shining armor, something that made them look a bit annoying if you asked him. They just seemed far too goody-goody for his liking. At least those last one had been interesting in their appearance even if that appearance was just that of some hulking brutes. These ones though reminded him of Orderites, making him want to make them down that much more, "I think those two are the ones that I should see about taking on next." They were rather offensive, glittering creatures, the sort that would be better off in pieces. It was just a shame that they were Aevah's toy soldiers instead of her actual soldiers, he really would love a chance to have it out with an Orderite. It would have to wait though, he was doing something else at the moment.

Drawing his sword from its sheathe on his back he slid forward slowly toward the Metal Mara, his empty eyes narrowing as he went. He was so eager for this battle after the battle that he'd had with the Rock Mara. He gave Yolana on quick glance before he rushed forward, diving into battle against the pair of Metal Mara. His weapon met with that of one of the Metal Mara and much to his surprise, and delight, the creature was able to take the blow, even pushing back against him. The second one took a swing at him and he ducked down to avoid the blow before he dodged to the side to avoid an attack by the first Metal Mara.

The pair seemed to pause, looking him over, debating on it for a moment before they started to chat amongst themselves about their need to 'take him back with them'. It seemed as though they were all interested in taking him back. It was something that he would take advantage of though since it was a lot less likely that they were going to try to kill him. Instead they would more likely want to subdue him so that they could bring him back to... well, wherever it was they came from. He made a mental note to try to figure that out, sure that they would be interested in knowing where they came from, it could be useful information to have. He'd worry about it later though, he had to keep moving so that the Metal Mara didn't actually get their chance to take him.

Merikh dodged some attacks, blocked others, made some attacks of his own, and otherwise did his best to keep moving smoothly through the flow of battle. He knew without even looking that Yolana was right there near by, waiting and watching, ready to help if she were needed, but he felt as though he was doing just fine himself. If things got too harried, sure, but not yet.

The dangerous dance with the Metal Mara continued on, with Merikh doing his best to stay a step ahead of the pair of them. They were rather swift, weren't they? Nothing compared to his mother though, if she was here she would probably have already wiped out the Mara... and if both of his mothers were here... well, it would have been done twice as quickly. He wished that they had come along but they had things to do before they could leave home. With this new threat, one created by Aevah, now in the spotlight, the Oblivionites in power were meeting about it. While those in charge, such as his mothers, dealt with the politics of it all Merikh would take care of things in a hands on manner. He was gong to take down as many Mara as it took to prove himself, seeing the creatures on the same level as he did the dragons, something that one could use to empower themselves.

"You guys are good but I'm better." He told the Metal Mara, dodging to the side as one of their bladed weapons came down at him, slamming into the sand instead of into his flesh. He starred a moment before giving a chuckle, "Am I starting to ruffle your feathers?" Alright, so they didn't have feathers but whatever, it still seemed as though he was getting to them, something that he greatly enjoyed. They had gone from wanting to subdue him to bring him back to maybe wanting to really dig into him... though probably for the same reasons. Given that he didn't want to be a lab experiment for the toy soldiers of those worthless Orderites he'd do his best to stay ahead of the game, avoiding giving them even the slightest opening.

It was as their metal weapons clashed with his own special sword that he was glad that his mother had gotten him such a weapon. It was stronger then the metal they were using, keeping their weapons from damaging his own. The very last thing he wanted was to have to retreat due to a weapon malfunction. Merikh took a couple of hopping steps back, taking hold of the hilt of his sword with both hands, and slashed upwards in a wide arch that took off the left arm of one of the two Metal Mara that he was squaring off against... and as expected there wasn't all that much in the way of a reaction from it. Sure, it's attacks were a little bit more awkward but given that they didn't have to worry about bleeding out something that would be a grievous injury to anyone was all but ignored by them. They really were lucky in that aspect, he'd give them that, but it was all he'd give them.

"You Mara really are grating." He muttered to himself, preparing for his next attack against them. He had to keep removing what he could from them, arms especially so that they couldn't use those weapons on him, and when he saw the opening to do so he would see about removing a couple more heads. Four Mara heads wasn't bad, still not what he was after, but it wouldn't be bad. As such he'd make sure to get these two no matter what. Lifting his weapon up into a defensive posture he started to drift slowly to the side, putting himself on the side of the 'injured' Mara that he'd removed the arm from. It was where he would find his best chance to find the opening that would allow him to perform the finishing strike.

Merikh was moving slowly to the side, his empty eyes searching for an opening so that he could take out the the first of the Mara. He felt that he could take out the one that was missing its arm but he couldn't forget about the other one. It was still at full capacity meaning that he would need to remain on high alert. Just because of one of them was injured didn't mean that he could back off even a little bit. If anything he should see about knocking the arm or arms off the second one as well so that it didn't present too much of a threat to him while he dealt with the first one. With that in mind when the second one came at him he met its attack with his weapon, deflecting it, before moving it's hand at the wrist.

Grinning in a devious manner he bounced back a couple steps back, whirling around chopped the Metal Mara's weapon in half. With it's weapon chopped in half and one hand removed he felt that the second one had been cut down and made as weak as its companion was at the moment. He looked between the pair, sizing them up, before he set to circling again. He still needed to find the opening that he was looking for... and when it finally presented itself to him his lips twisted up into a grin, "Yes!" He hissed, lunging forward, his slashing forward again and again, removing the other arm, left a deep gash in its chest, and the final strike removed the creature's head sending it flying through the air... and much to his delight Yolana stepped forward, catching it, before she tossed it over to where the Rock Mara heads were laying. That was way to amazing, something that was endearing his bodyguard to him all that much more.

This time around he didn't even bother to look at the retreating soul of the first Mara that he'd defeated. The way he saw it he would follow one of them later, after he had gathered more Mara heads. For the time being he had to focus on battling, not chasing, especially given that he still had one more Metal Mara left to deal with right here before him. Once this one had been taken care of them he could consider where they things might be coming from and if he aught to head there to try to cut them down where they lived. Alone, or even with Yolana, it seemed like a bit of a fool's errand to storm the enemy base, as such he'd just take care of Mara he ran across until such a thing became possible.

"Awesome catch, Yoyo!" He called over to his bodyguard before his attention turned back to the second Metal Mara, the one with the busted weapon and missing hand, "You're next you know. If it wasn't for the fact that I need your head I might almost let you go since you are in such crummy condition." He told the Metal Mara, even if he didn't really mean it. As if he would actually let a high profile target like the Mara actually retreat. What was in it for him to let them do that after all? Instead he set to circling again, once more looking for openings to attack. He didn't care if he had to turn the Mara into chopped, mangled versions of their formers selves, so long as the heads were intact then he would be able to get them back to Lord Draco for the bounty that was out on them. Not that he planned to do that until he had enough of them that it would actually be a worthy tribute, of course.

The battle with the Metal Mara was one that was starting to get drawn out. For each attack that Merikh made there was a little scrape or scratch left behind in the armor but where he felt exhaustion after wielding such a heavy sword for so long the Mara most certainly did not. He wanted nothing more then to slay the creature, to get this over with, but it would appear as though he wasn't going to be having any such luck at the moment now was he? He would do his best to keep ahead of the creature despite the fact that it was starting to gain momentum in the battle despite the damage that he had done thus far.

A missing arm and broken weapon didn't even appear as though it was enough, something that he found frustrating. If he had cut off the leg of a dragon and damaged say its fangs it wouldn't be nearly as much of a threat as the Metal Mara was since it too would be slowing down and suffering from the damage that it was taking. How he was starting to see exactly how dangerous Aevah's toy soldiers would have been against his people if she had been able to keep a tighter reign on them. They were creatures that didn't really die, they just fled their bodies, they didn't suffer, they didn't bleed, they didn't get tired... if an army of these were thrown against an army of Oblvionites... well, it would probably end up badly for his people.

It only went to show that despite looking like angels the Orderites were bigger monsters then any of the things he had fought to this point. It also made his distaste for them grow that much more as well. They were a foul, cowardly race, one that would hide behind false warriors instead of fighting them head on. It made him want to hunt them down and yank out their wing feathers! Something that he wouldn't really be doing any time soon, mostly because he hadn't been lucky enough to find one of them anywhere in Eowyn thus far. If he did, well, he would even put the Mara hunt on hold at this point so that he could get a piece of one of them... preferably a wing. It would be amusing to watch one of them fly about in circles trying to fly without a wing he thought to himself morbidly.

Merikh found himself pulled out of his thoughts when the Mara's broken off weapon came slashing down at him, leaving a shallow slice in his arm. It was a minor thing, but it was bleeding, something that was more then enough to enrage the young man that much more. The stupid thing was going to get the upper hand if only because the length of the battle, the heat, and a lack of water was starting to get to him. The idea of losing by default wasn't something that he cared for in the least bit, making him want to end this fight that much quicker if at all possible, before he fell over face first in the sand due to dehydration and being just plain drained.

In a way Merikh knew that he was kind of running out of time as far as the Metal Mara went. The fact that he was starting to tire out while it remained fine save for the 'wounds' that it had been dealt and the broken weapon it was wielding. He knew that if he started to get more then just scratches that Yolana was going to step in and finish the Mara off in his stead. It was her job to make sure that he was kept safe even if that meant that she was going to steal his kills. It was something he wanted to think about though, instead doing his best to focus and ignore the fact that his breaking was feeling a bit more labored at the moment. He wanted nothing more then to get a drink as well, his mouth feeling parched and tasting of sand at the moment. The longer the battle went on the worse it got too. As much as he hated to admit it to anyone, even to himself, he needed to rest.

Soon, not now, but soon... if he did get this one in the next little while then he was going to have to concede defeat, as much as the idea grated on him, and he would need to ask Yolana for help. Given that he didn't want to do that, didn't want for his mothers to know that he was even considering doing so, he forced himself to keep moving. It would be a blow to his pride, losing to some toy soldier, but the longer this battle went on the more that he learned about the dogged determination of these things. He was going to need to report it back to his mothers, so that they could let everyone know what they were dealing with, soldiers that wouldn't quit even after losing an arm, even when wielding a weapon that was no longer properly balanced. They were dangerous, extremely so, maybe even more so then dragons not that he wanted to say such words out loud given the sheer size difference between these soldiers and the dragons he'd fought in the past.

He heard Yolana calling out from behind him, something that made him twitch. She was asking if he wanted help... and there was a voice in the back of his mind screaming that 'yes, a bit of help would be nice' but it was a voice that he was ignoring. He didn't want to listen to it, didn't want to give in to it, "Not yet!" He called back to her instead. He could do this, he could defeat this thing! He just had to land a good hit, one that would boost his morale, and help him as far as continuing the fight went. It was then that he saw an opening, one that he lunged for, and Merikh nearly cried out in delight when his sword severed the Metal Mara's uninjured arm off. He watched as the arm, and the weapon it held, fell and hit the sands.
