Country music played throughout the arena, signifying the arrival of the new and current Crimson City Champion. Jamie strolled out onto the stage in an outfit that would make Larry King jealous. Tucked under the smaller man's arm was the folded Crimson City Championship and sitting atop the champion's head was a nice, pristine, full head of hair.
The crowd boo'd, jeered and taunted the South's Second Son, but he was not phased in the least. As he made his stroll to the ring, he only stopped once to knock a toddler's hat off and his Dad's drink out of his hand when the father tried to admonish the champion. Upon reaching the steel steps, Jamie was handed a ring by a ring-hand, which he took like an assassin taking a dagger from his sheath. He ascended the steps and slipped into the ring easily, making sure to angle himself so that not only could the crowd get a shot of his shiny new title, but so could most of the camera's.
The music stopped and there was a pause as Jamie lifted the mic to his mouth. The crowd boo'd, drowning out all of the other noises in the area. Jamie looked around, taking in all of the lights, sounds and emotions around him. It was a very, very powerful moment for the sorta-young man. His very first major title and his very first public championship address. Jamie Bader was about to do what legends before him had done time and time before. People like Gerald Briscoe, Arnold Skaaland, Dory Funk, Buddy Rogers, Bruno Sammartino and countless, countless more...
"Suck my d**k, I'm the champion."
Jamie threw down the mic, quickly exited the ring and stormed up the ramp before disappearing backstage. He was the champion now, but from this point on, he would be the king forever...
