User ImageLong wanderings through this strange world. Dragons, knaves, hounds, guards, he'd met many strange people throughout these lands. But not once had he met people with whom he felt kinship. Not his metal form. No, that was unimportant to him. He had not yet found a place for himself, that was the problem. A herd with honor and courage. He'd heard of a place called the Sunflare, but he was disappointed to hear that the herd was involved in a grudge fight. Besides, it had no structure--and Steelheart was a stallion that appreciated some structure. To the south there existed another brave, honorable herd, the Anuyidan'Danayi. But their culture was too...strange to him. They preferred the more natural-looking stars, and he was as far from natural as there could be.

Then he heard rumors. A few stories, here and there. From one of the Sunflare's bards he heard tell of a herd forming to the north, full of knights and chivalry. Knights. A code of chivalry. And from Llewelyn's description, it was what he was looking for. So Steelheart traveled north, towards Llyn Dinas, hoping that now, at last, he could find a place where he might make a difference. A place that fought for light and for right. Yes, a place where he could belong.

He stood on the outside of the herd's border (according to his olfactory sensors), gazing in. It was just about dawn, and the slowly rising fingers of the sun were glinting on his metal skin. He'd polished himself the best he could before making his way here. Now he merely needed the courage to cross the border and seek out their king.

User ImageMost of the knights had returned from their diplomatic missions and most all came with good news. Gawain especially with the sunflare. They would make soon to be welcoming one of the princesses of that herd. Arch still had to discuss with the knights who would be the one to care of Aine he had a few in mind but it still needed proper discussion. he wouldn't make any accept such a task if they didn't want to. It was exciting though in a few months time their first true alliance would be solidified. He'd be pleased to hear from his sister in A'D too, things were going well there. Arch breathed in the early morning air.

It was such a wonderful morning. the young king glanced behind him with a small smile. Arch had slipped away himself to patrol the border. He was sure the rest would be on their way shortly upon finding he'd gone ahead. his knights needed rest too after all their hard work. He couldn't wait for them to catch up in a tizzy though Arch couldn't help but smile, it was a fine day so far. He could hear them not far behind and calling for him. It gave him a bit of a chuckle. He could handle himself just as well as they could. they trained together after all.

Curiously there was something metallic shining in the distance of the morning sun. he winced as it shone in his eye he couldn't make it out. What could it be? they patrolled this area yesterday and no one had mentioned such a find. as he approached he came to realize it was shaped like a metallic star. As he approached closer he could hear mechanisms whirring and energy humming. So it was alive? He'd never seen it's like, incredible.

"Well met!"

A sign of movement in the distance caught Steelheart's optical sensors and he honed in on the source of the movement. It was a star, white with black stripes, like a tiger with hooves. Unlike a tiger, it was adorned with scarlet and gold. He wondered if this could be the king, Achernar. As Llewelyn had never met the king, the bard had been unable to furnish him with a description of the star he sought. Just on the off-chance that this might be the king, he had best be on his best behavior. Even if it was not Achernar, this stallion could soon be his comrade-in-arms, and it would be best not to start their relationship off on a bad hoof. Besides, Steelheart hated to be a bad guest or to show bad manners--it was not in his upbringing to do so. He much preferred to be polite. It prevented fights from starting, which kept innocent people safe from the dangerous battles of less vulnerable stars.

He nodded to the stranger once they were close enough to converse. "Well-met, indeed. I am Steelheart of Isania, and I seek out the knights of Llyn Dinas. I would be one of their number, if they would have me." Hm, he could have put that more elegantly, but it had come out rather more of a rush than he had intended it to be. Not quite the calm, dignified demeanor he had intended to put on display, but he hoped it would not count against him in the reckoning.
