Jennifer loved summer. No school, no homework, and she got to play as much as she wanted. The house was empty though; no big brother Merric to talk to or play games with. Her parents really didn't count. While her dad was home from work as a teacher, he wasn't much fun when he was doing yard work. Besides, Jen was eleven now! She could walk to the neighborhood park with her toys and be perfectly fine.

It helped that her friend had invited her and her friend's mother would be there.

Jen packed all of her princess things, as well as a bag of goldfish and set out for the park. The park wasn't very far, just a block over and round a corner. It was sunny, it was warm, and Jen was all ready for it. She looked around for her friend her mother, only to find the meeting spot empty for now.

Oh well!

"Oh well! More goldfish for me!" she said happily, pulling the bag out and munching on a handful.
