The wind blew softly over a slightly worn down meadow, cupped around he edges by evergreens. Thus it was called the evergreen brace. This is where Gingy, a gingerbread cookie stallion made his home. Usually found entertaining himself under these blue skies. Gingy was never a lonely sort, though he spent much of his time that way. He liked to make things, and often gifted them to others when he could. He was prancing around he meadow now, alone, holding a ball he made from wide plant leaves in his mouth, lost in his imaginings. He would stop periodically and toss it upwards, sending his frosted mane splashing through the air and trying to catch it again, like he was making up some sort of game. he wasn't too good at catching it, more often than not, it would land on his had or back when he missed. But he was having fun at any rate, he made small snorts at it when it would land in the grass, and he would taunt it, curling his neck and flattening his ears in a silly looking threat-like posture, pawing the ground a few times. He would even prance small circles around it with his tail perked and lifting his legs high. "You want a piece of this? huh? Do you?" he would jeer. The air all around this meadow smelled of ginger bread cookies, even when he wasn't around.
"C'mon then! I'll take you!" He than gave the ball a hard nudge with his nose, rolling it along in front of him as he trotted here and there. "is that all you got?"

User ImageNnnnnnnnnnng, did it smell good in this pine brace. Xiang's already bouncing trot turned into an outright prance, his hooves lifting up high in the grass and his tail held up in a jaunty curl. The algiara stallion had been traveling alone for several months, hardly encountering anything along the way. His only companion was a green and red butterfly, Blithe, currently perched atop his horns, flapping her wings languidly. The cheerful stallion couldn't imagine life without her for a single instant.

The warm, sweet, spicy smell of the woods gave way to a meadow where the scent was so strong as to be intoxicating. A stallion at the center playing with a ball seemed to be the source of the smell. Xiang grinned, set down his lantern, slipped the sleeves off of his arms, and charged forward towards the ball to kick it towards the other stallion. "Heyoh! Watch out! Interference on the field!" he shouted.

When the ball was kicked it flew rather well, holding together rather nicely as it almost went airborn. Gingy, for a moment, thoight he was imagining things and went to slide in front of the ball. He used his front legs as a buffer for it to bounce off of, and than started to chase after it once it rolled away toward Xiang. starting to make his own announcing " It was regained by Gingy! He swerves to the left, than swerves to the right. Can he get it past the the other player?" As he cantered with his head down, pushing it along with his nose, It finally dawned on him as Xiang's scent came to him, that he really wasn't alone. (Other player?) he thought as he lost his footing and fell, sliding on his belly to a stop in-front of Xiang, The ball rolling to a stop. He blinked those white eyes up at this stallion like he had seen a ghost, his ears were pinned back as if startled.

She was bright, brighter than bright actually. She blended into nothing, perhaps a field of bright flowers, maybe. But other than that she stuck out like a sore thumb, or hoof, or whatever you wanted to have sore. Floridian watched the strange ginger stallion as he dodged around the field like a foal with little better to do. Her long vined tail flicked behind her the tendrils clung around her hind leg like arms. Then there was the introduction of this new stallion, this was interesting. The more greener one seemed annoyed with the ginger stallion.

Tilting her head to one side, the floral mare moved along the field's edge to get a closer look at this strange white and green stallion. He magenta gaze followed him a bit before looking back to the ginger stallion who was on his belly now. Such a foal, was her only thought. Stepping out of the trees, not that she was 'that' hidden after all she stepped closer to the stallions. Along the way one of her tendrils plucked a flower to offer to the white and green stallion.

"Hope I am not intruding upon your fun, fellas." she said, kinda cutely. "A flower for the handsome sir?" she offered the lavender blossomed flower to Xiang. Her attention lost for the moment before she looked back to the Ginger stallion. "Need a hoof up?" she asked him tilting her head to one side.

"It's a magnificent play by Gingy, good recovery!" Xiang flipped his mane out of his face and picked up the pace. His long tail provided a welcome balance as he lunged back in for the ball. When the other stallion tripped, he reared up to avoid stepping on him, his mouth giving a startled whinny. When he had recovered well enough to set his hooves down, he looked down at the pale-eyed starborn at his hooves. "Whoops. Didn't mean to startle you. You looked like you were having fun, and I wanted to join you. Sorry about that." He took several steps backward to allow the other star room to get up, his tail tucked around his legs. He lifted one hoof delicately. "My name is Xiang. And this one--" he pointed to the butterfly hovering over his head--"is Blithe. Your name's Gingy, then?"

A flash of brilliant pink from the corner of his vision jerked Xiang's head around as what appeared to be a flower in equine shape stepped out of the woods. He made no attempt to hide his gawk--she was beautiful, and he couldn't for the life of him recognize her breed. He'd thought he could recognize them all--arctova, arctyra, algiara--but he'd never before seen a mare with vines for tail and leaves for mane. Blithe, on the other hand, wasted no time staring. She alighted from her star's horns and flew over to the mare in insect ecstasy. She lighted on the mare's face and gazed into her glowing eyes. Xiang accepted the flower with his mouth and tucked it into his mane. "I, ah...

"Yes!" He turned towards Gingy. "Do you need any help? Are you alright?" He belatedly realized that the stallion could have been injured in the tumble. Legs were so delicate!

Oh great he thought as the other stallion stepped back. He was just thinking how embarassing this was as he started to move but he was soon stunned but the filly that came up, aaaannnd naturally she had no interest in him other than "you poor thing". His ears flopped as her attention was drew from him to the other stallion with out him even trying! Way to go Gingy, another screw up, hot and ready just for you. he said to himself inwardly. He slowly stood checking his legs for any sign of sprain. He looked at the other stallion and spoke in a distant tone " No I am ok.. I was just surprised that you or anyone wanted to play... especially at our age..." he wouldnt hardly look at the filly, his lowered to his ball and he was red faced." a-and that you.. miss... for your..... concern..." he said to her as he started to turn away and nose around the ball again, it didnt go far, mainly because he was barely rooting it. Gingy was not an impressive stallion, he was not one to just jump out there to try and get the fillys. He also was no fighter. He did have a bold heart, if the need called for one, but there were no dangers... wait... His head lifted and his white eyes started to pan, scanning the brace of the trees. He hadn't checked to see if there was any danger from anything. He was too wrapped up in his game...
He did not see or smell any danger, but he saw a stick that gave him an idea. He did something the other two probably wouldn't have, he bend his back legs and slowly came to a sit, his frosted tail laying over the grass. He sat like a dog. It was a habit of his when he was thinking or not paying attention to what he was doing..

Well, this was all fine and dandy, seemed she made friends with one stallion and shunned off another. Ears falling back into her leafy mane, her head tilted to one side, frowning slightly. But her attention was soon averted as something landed on her muzzle. Going a little cross-eyed, Floridian stared at the butterfly that sat there. What a lovely thing, she had always loved butterflies. All spring they would cling to her mane and tail as she walked. But it was now reaching summer and they left her alone. Well, that and something else liked to chase them through the trees.

"I'm Floridian, or Flor, which ever is easiest for you." the mare announced calmly, shaking her head a little. She hated to disturb the butterfly, but it was starting to tickle her face. "Were you fellas playing a game?"

She was quite naive about the matter. She had only seen them running around chasing something. Looking towards Gingy who rooted around for something in the grass. Watching his movements, from the rooting, to looking around the area. Now he sat in the strangest of ways, Floridian didn't know how she felt about this strange brown stallion. He was a strange one indeed.

User Image Brown button eyes watched things from the safety of the trees. That and he had been told to stay there, but something went sailing through the air before landing. He had the urge to chase, whatever the round object had been, the young canine wanted it! But no, he had to stay, she had told him to before going out into the open. The canine didn't understand why she went out there. And without him! Scratching at his side with a hindpaw, Shadow slipped from the trees and padded over towards the rest. One his approach, he came from behind Gingy. stopping a moment to nose in the brown stallions tail, like he was hunting for something..

.

Gingy's head turned backwad, feeling something at his tail, the tail that smelled of cookies.
He smiled at the dog and slowly stood, his white eyes a glimmer with happiness. He loves dogs. "hey there! Well look at you!" he leaned forward to lip at the top of the dogs head. His back hoof nudged the ball and made it roll away a little through the grass. He didn't notice but if the dog was going to give chase, that would have been his window. Gingy had always wanted a good friend.. any friend.. and he was quite delighted that this dog came up lighten his spirits.

Xiang blinked, the tiniest frown crossing his brow. The sudden change in demeanor in the other stallion was an unwelcome one. They'd been having fun, he'd been acting friendly and all, he hadn't complained about Xiang joining in his game, and suddenly, he was acting all distant? Was he seriously embarrassed about falling down? Or was it that he was playing? By his own admission, he didn't expect others to play, but when another star joined in, he had shown no shame. So why the sudden change in attitude?

It was the mare, wasn't it. There were some stars--stallions, to be specific--whose entire moods changed when a female of the species was present. It was almost always, in Xiang's experience, a very bad sign. A sign of a star who thought that there was something so fundamentally different between mares and stallions that they had to be treated differently. Xiang gave a tiny shake of his head. Maybe he was wrong. Maybe Gingy was just startled. Maybe Gingy had merely been enjoying a brief moment of playfulness in an otherwise serious and mature life. The way he scanned the trees seemed to support this theory. Xiang lifted his own nose into the breeze and scented it. Nope. No other stars in the area that he could detect. The only predator in the region was a wolf, of that type of canine that had been domesticated by stars many years ago. A "dog," if he recalled the terminology correctly. He doubted such a thing could be a threat. But good call, on Gingy's part, to remember to check for danger. Definitely a mature adult.

...Or not. When he looked back at the other stallion, he was sitting on the ground like a predator in a position that was surely uncomfortable for him. Oooooookaaaaaaay. A bit of a weirdo, then. "I'm always interested in a game," Xiang said, as if stars sat on their hind legs all the time. "No matter what age I am I will always be ready and willing to have fun with another star."

He watched Blithe continue to flit around the mare's head. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Floridian. And yes, we were playing quite a fun game of chasing and kicking a ball. Would you like to join us?" He looked down at the black canine. "What's his name?"

He lifted his head from the dog and looked at the other stallion who seemed to still acknowledge Gingy. A shy smile came up on his brown face. The mare was one of those kind that Make Gingy feel uncomfortable, mainly because she was so pretty. Gingy was an odd stallion. Use to being alone, having to look out for himself and entertain himself at the same time. It was obvious, He was dreadfully shy and submissive. He was wary and alert but kind. He looked like his face was trying to match his lips. He stammered in his warm and somewhat sweet voice of his " w-well. I.. You know.. I don't think I have been around anyone for so long.. well other than the sign I met. I think it was.. Taurus? " he lets one ear flop to the side as he slowly went into that awkward sit again. Funny enough he looked like he didn't notice he was doing it. HE was trying to think if that was her name. the meeting was brief and he had slept sense then. His white eyes tilted upward in thought. "or was it... hmm no.. she was with the scary one... the tree on her back... hmm" he was thinking aloud now.
His face was at-least trying to turn brown again.

Floridian smiled at the the stallion who was friends with a butterfly. Shaking her head a little to rustle the leaves of her mane, she seemed to settle them back into place. And clear a spot for the butterfly to land if wanted to. There was a commotion behind her as the ginger stallion seemed to be speaking to someone. To this Floridian turned around to glance at the black canine that was standing there watching the stallion with brown eyes.

"Shadow, I thought I had told you to stay put." Flor frowned a little as she watched the dog. "Come here you silly thing."

As if on Que, Shadow yipped and trotted over towards Floridian and wove himself between her legs and looked up at the white and green stallion. His tail wagged behind him. He was ready for a game, if it meant taking whatever they were playing with and running with it making them chase him.

"This is Shadow. A little ruffian at times, but he means well." Floridian smiled as Shadow left her again to sniff Xiang, then back over to Gingy to sniff him over a little.

"Kicking a ball? I don't think I know what you mean. What is a ball?" Her head tilting to one side, those magenta eyes watching Xiang closely as if he had all the answers.

The dog was quite cute, in a canine way. Its big brown eyes seemed to be filled with friendly curiosity, and the way it wagged its tail was...strange, but in a charming way. Why did dogs wag their tail, anyway? Were they constantly afraid of flies getting in at their nether regions? Their tails weren't really suited to the task of swatting, though the thick, fluffy tail of this one didn't look too bad for the task. How did it keep clean, anyway...? Strange creatures, dogs. Xiang had no real experience with them, really. He knew some stars kept them as pets, but personally? He preferred the company of Blithe to anything else. She stuck close by, she was easy to feed, and in the winter, he could keep her warm in his mane. She was, in his opinion, quite perfect. Nonetheless, Xiang lowered his head to sniff the dog politely.

At Gingy's word, he snapped his head back up to stare at the other stallion. "A ball is a spherical mass used to play with," he said distractedly. "Gingy, you've...you've met one of the Signs?" His eyes were wide open. Taurus...not his favorite of the Signs, not the one he wanted to dedicate himself too, but still...he'd never met someone who'd met one of the Signs! Or rather, claimed to. The Signs had left the mortal world long ago, long before stars began to fall. So how had he met, actually met, one of the Thirteen Signs?

Gingy tilted his head, he had indeed met one and Xaing's widened eyes seemed he make him nervous slightly.
"yes, she was... she had a great tree growing from her back. She was kind and.." he paused, reflecting back to her question." When I introduced myself I said my name and the usual "At your service" thing. she presented me with "is that what you really want?" I was... I was baffled. I'm just a cookie, How could I possibly be useful to a sign?" He didn't realize how hard he sounded on himself. How little he game himself credit. He was a good inventor and and he was sweet, smart and playful. He may be thought of as wimpy by most because he hated to fight but he was good hearted. By the way he speaks of himself, He really does see himself as "just a cookie".
He looked at The Mare and than back at The stallion, even down to the dog as if expecting they would not believe him. It would only be logical anyway, they don't know him and it would seem to be a tall story to most. He wouldn't blame them if they didn't.
"I didnt know what to say to her, and she was magnificent! She was brown like me! only better! she wasn't a cookie. Her mane and tail were lush and she could shake leaves from her mane! She walked with grace and.. I was just wowed." He started to get less nervous and slightly more excited, standing with his hooves rising and falling at different times.

Well things things seemed to be going one direction. All the talk of games and this ball thing that they were kicking around. Now this Gingy stallion was talking of meeting one of the thirteen star signs. Eyes blinking a couple of times as she tilted her head to one side. Was that possible? Did they just show up at any ol' time? This was strange, all the time she had been wandering around. Floridian had yet to meet anyone outside of a bunch of wolves and these two. Shaking her own leaf covered head, she looked back towards Xiang as he was staring a little.

"One of the signs huh? She sounds like one interesting star." Floridian didn't really know what to say.

When he called himself a cookie, this really made her head tilt to one side. Almost bending in a ninety degree angle. How could someone be a cookie? Surely he wasn't edible. No one was truly edible. Well, she guessed that they were, predators could kill and eat them whenever they needed or didn't need to. Lost in her own thoughts, Floridian looked as if she were staring off into space.
