Harlow had been up early for more than just her classes today. She had heard a new guy had just moved in and even though she was still pretty new she wanted to make sure that they got a warm welcome. Beside she was trying to make friends. She had sneaked a few extra chocolate chip cookies off of one of the trays in the cafeteria today (Of course when the grumpy lunch lady wasn't looking), and even a small handful of the peanut butter cookies, sneaking one out in her mouth as well of course.
She slipped the plastic bag into her messenger bag and started to wander her way back to the dorms. She was feeling a little nervous about the whole meeting a new person thing and making friends but at the same time she was determined that she was going to make him feel as welcomed as she did.
She raised her hand to the door and knocked on it lightly hoping that he was there... that was something that she didn't really consider that much... She felt a pang of nervousness as she stood at the door waiting for an answer.

Rex was basically still 'unpacking' for the most part. Getting situated, trying to find a place for everything in the odd room. He glanced at the mark on the wall now and then. It didn't make him... uncomfortable, but curious. Every now and then the red head touched it with light fingers, and every time Airheart screeched at him and he stopped to address her.
"Oh, says the talking pistol." Brown eyes rolled slightly. Just as he was about to take a break and relax on the bed, someone knocked on his door.
Maybe it was Dory, or Chris. Anyone else he didn't know. Wandering that way, the lean boy opened the door with a huge smile and then blinked when it was ....a girl there. Oh. Well. "Oh, uh, hi?" He grinned goofishly before correcting himself rather quickly. "Hi! What can I do ya for?"

Harlow shuffled nervously as she stood and waited for him to answer the door. She shifted her weight on her other leg and listened as it sounded like some one was starting to come to the door. She stood up straight and pulled down her shirt a little and put on a smile.
"Hello!" She greeted cheerfully, she was happy that he didn't seem upset for her to be standing at his door.His accent was an interesting one that was for sure. He had heard it before but at the same time it was still extremely interesting to hear in person. "Oh!" She swung her back around to the front of her and then started to reach into her bag to pull out the plastic bag of cookies, and extended them out to him. "I came, uh, to welcome you." She smiled at him once again, she knew she was coming off as super awkward but she didn't care.

Aw crap, was she nervous now because of him? Blinking a little, Rex scratched the back of his head with a sheepish grin and just watched as she dug around in her bag. When the cookies were produced, he had to laugh as he took them and grinned wide. "Oh man, just like ma used ta do for the neighbors. She'd bake cookies, cakes, pies... Oh. Manners. Sorry 'bout that. I'm Rex. Rex Marksley." He held out his free hand to her, the other holding the cookies. "Just arrived a few days ago. Glad ta see there are friendly sorts." And girls, but he wasn't saying that out loud.

A small laugh escaped her lips and she shrugged. "I'm not going to lie to you, I didn't bake them. It's the thought that counts though!" She shuffled her feet and looked up at him. He seemed pretty friendly, that was always a good first sign into making a friend.
Harlow smiled and extended her hand in return shaking his. "Harlow Rowan." She greeted back, she dropped her hand and offered a smile "Mind if I come in and hang out for a little while?" She asked curiously, she wanted to as him how he was adjusting, or if she could help some how with anything. She didn't have any classes until later in the day so she was free for a while.

Rex watched her a moment and shrugged. Hey, baked goods were hard to make! He failed at it all the time. Burnt things. Out of survival Rex acquired a taste for burnt food otherwise he would starve to death. "Hey, it's the thought that counts." When she asked to come in, he move and waved her inside with a grin. "Welcome to my humble room. Uuh, I haven't exactly completely unpacked or decorated yet, but, you know.. I will." Rex grinned a bit and pushed his hand through his hair before clearing off a spot on his bed for her, there was a lack of places to sit and he seemed a little flustered. "So. Sup? What's.. fun around here?"
