xxxxxThis here is the Office of one Jack Mallory. That’s me. If the door is open please feel free to come on in. The entire back wall is a glass window that overlooks the Archery Range. I have a Western style desk on the left wall as you come in. The desk is a light gold wood color with a matching four legged stool. One the opposite wall there are several different style bows hanging from pegs. In a cabinet next to the peg board are the supplies needed to care for the bows and several bow strings. On either side of the Japanese-style door are filing cabinets that contain the books and papers necessary for running Division Three. When I turn the lights one the room is cast in a pale blue light.

Jack Mallory landed outside her Office and, slide the door open. With a sigh she flicked the lights on and the whole room was cast in a pale blue light. With a sigh she considered the mountain of paperwork on her desk. She really didn’t want to do it.
Jack groaned as she kicked of her shoes and, pealed her socks off. She left them by the door as she took of her haori. She placed her haori on the hook designed for it. With her Zanpakutō in hand she walked over to her desk.
Once there Jack sat on her four legged stool and set Chimamire no Yuki down against the edge desk. Jack draped her torso across the desk and looked out the window towards the Archery Range. She really wanted to be out there shooting instead of in here doing paperwork.
Jack pushed herself up and, called a Hell Butterfly to her. She needed to get a message to her Officers before starting to fill out the forms and reports.
Jack told the Hell Butterfly, “To all Officers of Division Three: Come to my Office. I’m calling a Division Meeting. Maybe we can sort this mess out. Signing out, Captain Jack Mallory.”
Jack flicked the Hell Butterfly away from her. Then she pulled the closest stack of paperwork towards herself. Jack began to read the top sheet as she blindly opened the top drawer of her desk. She paused for a moment to find one of her multicolored pens. Jack liked them because she could use red ink for corrections, blue ink for notes, black ink for signing and, green ink for doodling; all without changing pens.
Jack found a pen and closed the door. Then she returned to reading the paperwork. As she chewed on the end of her pen a look of concentration came one to her face. It surprised people when they learned she took her job seriously.

OOC:Officers' Meeting! Please post ASAP! ╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
It was not long before a familiar face arrived, that of Lieutenant Sephiroph Bazyli. Bursting through the door at speeds far too fast to be safe, he skidded to a stop before he ran right into his captain at her desk.
Breathing as if he'd just run a marathon for just a few moments, Sephiroph stood up straight and tall with a wide grin on his face. The run here had been needless to say the highlight of his entire day seeing as he missed the earlier battle he had been summoned to help take care of. The look on his face energetic and youthful, reflecting his reckless speed.
He had come from the battlefield upon which a battle had just ended; one in which he was supposed to partake in but missed at the very last moment when all was said and done.
Sephiroph lifted a hand to his medium-length, golden locks and pushed them back out of his face so he could look around; his icy blue eyes piercing all that he touched and seeming to look straight through. Such eyes soon landed on Captain Jack Mallory, his commander. A friendly gaze replaced the piercing stare that normally took over his expression and he walked the few feet between them so he could stand in front of her desk.
Placing his right hand over his half-bare chest, he slowly took a small bow in front of her in formality. His sleeveless top was ripped half open from hard training and he seemed to care less for the matter. The rest of his attire consisted of the usual: black hakama bottoms, bamboo sandals that looked far too big on his feet, and his Zanpakuto Shakunetsu resting at his mid-back where she was easy to reach in a moment's notice.
"Gooooooood afternoon, Cap'n. Ulixes should be behind me soon. I think I gave him a good run for his money. I may be able to beat him in a race but man does that guy look like he could beat me to a pulp in a physical contest..." Sephiroph chimed in cheerfully before standing up straight yet again. His eyes flicked from Jack to the paperwork on her table and for a moment he had a feeling of doom. 'S-Son of a....' He thought to himself and remembered he had dreaded paperwork to do. It was not that he was bad at doing so, it was that he much disliked doing so. Yet, he would if he was told to. Such as a subordinate should.
"Soo... what did you need, dearest?" He asked, using a pet name to try and get on her good side for the day. He heard Shakunetsu laugh in his head at him. She was awfully cheerful and loving of his torture and misfortune these days. At least she was on speaking terms, he thought.
(Ooc: )
"We both know sooner or later you'll forget to..."
Jack didn’t look up as she asked, “Do we need 2000 blue colored pencils? I don’t think we need 2000 blue colored pencils but, I suppose I could be wrong.” Jack finally looked up and, smiled brightly, “Sephiroph! My Darling Sephiroph! How are you this fine day! What have you been up to?”
Jack dropped her pen to the table and, pushed back from her desk. Her hands landed on the back edge if her stool. This had the add effect of pushing out her chest. Not that Jack needed to flirt with her Lieutenant. She could be a lot more blunt with him.
Jack’s smile was beautiful, “So Ulixes is behind you. I think we’ll wait for him to show up before we start the meeting. I don’t really care to repeat myself. At least not in the sorry confused state I find myself in now.”
Jack was indeed confused. She was baffled and puzzled. It seemed that there had been three spate battles that had run into each other; maybe four. She didn’t manage to get some sleep so she wasn’t completely confused. That didn’t mean she wouldn’t appreciate some calcification.
Jack tossed her left leg over her right knee and grinned, “So My darling Lieutenant. What shall we talk about while we wait?”

OOC:So. Am I forgiven? EDIT: Fixed a typo. ╚═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝
Sephiroph's brow furrowed at the mention of the absurd amount of blue pencils she was speaking of and he couldn't help but laugh at the thought. What in the world kind of paperwork was she doing? Apparently inventory or something of the likes, he thought.
When Jack finally looked from her work to him, he focused on her bright, beautiful smile. It was quite the treat to see such a smile on Captain Mallory's face.
"Despite having missed out on a large battle, I'm doing pretty great, I suppose. All I've been doing lately is training and chasing tail." Sephiroph replied, joking when he said 'chasing tail'. He had no time to do such things recently. Sephiroph was far too focused on honing his powers lately.
Sephiroph never averted his eyes from his gorgeous Captain and now was no exception as she pushed back on her desk and pushed out her chest as her hands landed on her stool. Most would swat him or slap him as penalty but Jack was much different and did not usually mind his visual appreciation of her figure.
"As you wish, dear. We can pass the time with small talk while we wait." Sephiroph agreed and stepped away from her desk so he could walk to the side of the room to the wall closest to her. He pressed his back against it and leaned there, crossing his arms up over his chest casually and letting out a soft yawn. "So how have you been, my beloved? I've been missing my gorgeous companion lately." He teased.
He had always been like this with calling her such endearing names. It was in his nature to call her as so. 'Captain' was just far too boring in his opinion to fit her fascinating self.
"Ah, and do not fear my dear. My 'gorgeous companion' is, of course, you." Sephiroph stated with a wide smirk, continuing his flirting as usual. Though when things got down to business and Ulixes was here, he would be serious to hear what his Captain had to say. Through the years he had learned much self-control and knew when to stop his advances.
(Ooc: Of course. There were never any hard feelings to begin with. ^^)
"We both know sooner or later you'll forget to..."
If any other person called Jack beautiful, gorgeous, fascinating, my beloved, darling or, anything similar more than once the flirt would remind them in simple terms that she was not interested in romantic attachments of any kind. Sephiroph Bazyli was then exception to that rule. Then again the red-haired Captain made a lot of exceptions when it came to her blonde Lieutenant.
After 350 years there was no man she trusted more. At times Jack laughed at her younger self for every trying to kill Sephiroph. Jack couldn’t regret it. If she hadn’t tried to kill him she wouldn’t have the marvelous Lieutenant she had now. Now they took care of each other, in more ways than one.
Jack stretched out to the ceiling, “My Dear! There was never any doubt that I was your gorgeous companion.” Jack fell forward and slammed her hands on her table wait, “Wait! Does this mean you’ve been seeing someone else?” Jack buried her face in her hands, “Sephiroph, how could you?”
It was a jest that was made very clear by the fact that Jack’s smile had not faltered once. Sephiroph was the only person who could claim to be a fixed point in Jack’s point. There was no romance in their relationship. It was a relationship full of flirting, joking, sex, and care. It may not have been normal, it may not have been healthy, but Jack wouldn’t trade it for anything. She didn’t know what Sephiroph thought of their relationship but, he was still her. Jack wondered why and wondered when he would get tired and leave. So far he was the only one who stayed.
Jack was smiling as she rose from her theatrics but, her eyes were sad. She tried to hide it; Sephiroph would be sure to see it. After 350 years he knew how to look.
Jack laughed as she finally answered the question, “I’m fine. I’ve been doing inventory. I’m surprised I can still see straight.” Jack held out her hand in clear invitation, “I’ve got most of it sorted but, I still can’t figure out the blue colored pencils.”
Jack’s hand wasn’t an invitation for anything more than touching. She knew better than to run off after she had called a meeting. However she was an incredibly tactile person. It was one of the minor reasons she was so sexual. The blue-eyed man knew this. Jack knew he knew it.

『Ulixes Cernuus』
Ulixes arrived at the door of Jack's office, showing no signs of his exertion. One of the few bright sides to his slow Shunpo was the relatively low amount of energy it took. Seeing that the door was open, he ducked down and began the slow process of fitting himself through the doors intended for much smaller beings.
Grunting lightly with the effort, he finally managed to fit through the door, and tuned into Jack and Sephiroph's conversation right as the Captain questioned the allocation of 2000 blue pencils. Knowing the reason for them, he decided it was a good time to cut in, speaking louder than his usual voice to make sure he would be heard. "The pencils were my decision. As I represented the 3rd Division in the last budgeting meeting, I took on the acquisition of several minor types of supplies to provide to the rest of the Gotei 13 in order to pad out the last of our unused funds. If I had not done as such, the Central 46 would have been liable to cut our budget down to only the amount used."
He stood, fairly relaxed, with his head cocked to the side. Not out of curiosity or interest, but rather to prevent his head from scraping the ceiling. "If you would rather we acquire more of a specific material for private use by the 3rd Division, I will make the request at the next budgeting meeting."
Sephiroph almost always knew when Jack was playing a game or teasing him. Three hundred and fifty years does that to people. Sephiroph could tell nearly any emotion that popped upon her pretty little face and took pride in trying to console her as soon as possible if it was sadness, bring out her lovely smile when she was happy, and help to soothe her nerves when she was stressed. He was happy to take the time out of his day to do so for his Captain and never regretted their moments together.
It was a strange, unique relationship that they had and it was more than satisfying for him. He would not have given it up for the world. Sephiroph took pride in being the subordinate of such a fascinating, strong woman.
All of these compliments and commendations were normal of Sephiroph to point out. After all, he did owe her for far too many instances that he could count on both of his hands. Sephiroph would always owe her for one in particular though; for sparing his life and giving him the chance he needed that fateful day three hundred and fifty years prior.
"Another woman! Oh yes. I do believe her name is Captain Jack Mallory. Send the gossiping hell butterflies; I've been taking advantage of my captain in her bed!" Sephiroph exclaimed dramatically, releasing a soft chuckle after saying so.
The fact of the matter was that Sephiroph had actually not seen too many others in the past fifty years or so. He was cutting back on his physical pleasures in order to use his time wisely to train for learning his Bankai and getting stronger. This, however, would take quite a long time. Therefore, he accepted most of his pleasures from his dear Jack lately. She was too irresistible to stay away from most of the time. She was also unlike many other suitors. Every other had just begun to bore him if they were not her.
When they were not partaking in such 'scandalous' affairs, Sephiroph would constantly ask for missions or training sessions from his Captain to improve. The man was insistent on doing so most days with the exception of the occasional lazy afternoon he chose to partake in a bit of Sake and late night pondering of the stars above. It was the only time he could truly think in peace.
Sephiroph noticed her sad eyes right away and felt his upbeat mood start to slip through his fingers. Most overlooked or did not notice when Jack was feeling down because of her impeccable skills at masking her emotions but Sephiroph was one of the exceptions. Many years by her side had brought him to an understanding of her facial expressions enough to know when she was sad.
Seeing her hand reach out to him, Sephiroph pushed away from the wall he leaned against and slowly approached his Captain; taking one of her small hands with his fairly large left. He squeezed her hand tight and lifted it to his lips, pressing them against her soft skin for just a moment before letting their hands drop back down; still held together by his strong grip.
" 'I am fine'. I've heard the phrase countless times to know when you are stretching the truth. It is true, you never lie. You may be fine but your eyes suggest something more. You know I despise when you're sad. If there's anything you need, you know I am always here relentlessly bugging you if I can help in any way." Sephiroph assured her with a kind smile.
Sephiroph had been so keen in comforting his Captain that he didn't even sense the spiritual pressure of his comrade, Ulixes. When he heard the large man attempting to enter through the door with a light grunt, Sephiroph turned his attention to the man with a wide, pearly grin.
"Annnnd here comes Ulixes." He stated the obvious. "Also known as the bringer of colored pencils." Sephiroph teased and let go of his Captain's hand so he could cross his arms over his chest; a habit he'd picked up so his hands weren't aimlessly at his sides.
"Smart move. We don't need any budget cuts. I hear a few Divisions and such have been losing a lot of coin. I'd like to say now that I want one hundred and I will not state my reasoning." Sephiroph nodded matter-of-factly and by the look on his face, it was hard to tell if he was joking or not. Of course, he was. Unless he wanted to draw a giant mural of the raging blue waters of the sea, plain black for paper work was just fine with him.
It was time to get down to business now, he assumed. Stepping away from Jack's desk, Sephiroph took the floor across from her next to Ulixes so he could stay attentive to what she had to say.
(Ooc: Some of this seems like rambling. OTL)
"We both know sooner or later you'll forget to..."
Jack let Sephiroph’s hand slip out of hers with a sigh of disappointment. However the Lieutenant was right; it was time to be serious,
Jack rifled through her paperwork to find the page concerning the blue colored pencils, “Well, Thank you for that explanation Ulixes. Next time get something other than blue colored pencils. We won’t need any more for a while. Jack scrawled her signature across the page, “I guess I can sign off on that inventory.” Jack dropped her pen and, looked up at her Officers, “Alright. What the hell happened? I have a pretty good idea of what happened before the Arrancar attacked the Seireitei but, after that I’m confused.”
Jack pulled out a black notebook at flipped to a blank page. She retrieved her pen and, clicked the black ink down. Jack was prepared to take notes. Her handwriting was a graceful scrawl that was instantly recognizable.
Jack told the two boys, if boys was an accurate way to describe a man-mountain and, piercing eyes, “Just tell me what you know. We don’t need to stress about what we don’t know.” Jack smiled brightly, “I don’t like stress. Stress is lame.”
Jack uncrossed her legs and, tucked her ankles together. Then she sat perfectly still. IT came from years of sitting in trees and on buildings waiting for just the right shot.

『Ulixes Cernuus』
If Ulixes could have stood up straighter in order to address Jack, he would have. As it was, he simply schooled his face into a more formal expression. "We first received word of the attack approximately ten minutes before I managed to locate you, Captain Mallory. At the time of your departure into battle, we knew that the enemy was moving and there were more showing up. As you know, however, the information I was able to provide to you was not totally current, and you headed to the first known location of the intruders. I located Lieutenant Bazyli shortly after and we followed suit, though by the time we arrived, the battlefield was empty and there were no intruders to be found. It was at this point in time that we received your message and returned here."
In truth, everything had happened so fast that it was hard to piece everything together. Ulixes was still trying to figure out exactly what had happened, much like his Captain, but doubted he would be able to without receiving more information from either the 9th or 7th Division - both dealt with the transfer of information, and as such, the lack of information each of the other Divisions was working with fell squarely on their shoulders.
"If I may make a few conjectures - these enemies knew what they were after, and were familiar enough with the layout of Soul Society to be able to easily get in and get out, with minimal confrontation. The only attacks we are currently aware of happened all in the same area, suggesting an attempt to lure away defenses from their target. A method of attack that by all rights should have failed. It is the entire Gotei 13's fault that we were so easily duped and manipulated by such an elementary strategy." He stopped for a breath before resuming speaking.
"These, are, of course, simply my personal theories, and we should wait to receive more information on exactly what was done during the supposed distraction before claiming fault." While Ulixes personally had no issues with claiming fault and receiving the punishment, he wished no such thing on his Division, and would attempt to protect them from the Captain-Commander's wrath.
Sephiroph pondered his Captain's question and realized he, himself knew the least of the three. He had not heard a single bit of information other than that Ulixes had shared with him when he came to fetch him from training. Sephiroph was completely out of the loop, it seemed.
Yet despite being so, he wished to know all that the Captain wanted to find out. Being informed of all of this would give him a better understanding of who had somehow been able to invade and trick the Seireitei. The information was vital and could be used to prevent this from happening again.
Sephiroph stayed silent the whole time until Ulixes was done speaking and made sure to take mental notes over all that he said. After the mention of the intruders knowing the layout of the Seireitei, Sephiroph couldn't help but think that the intruder had to have been someone who'd been there. This was quite an obvious fact but it did prove as some evidence. If the intruder had been in the area before, maybe there were witnesses to such visits. However, there was a slight chance the intruder had never been to the Seireitei; proving his rationalities to be flawed.
"I do not believe we are at fault for anything, Ulixes. We must, of course, file a report on the battle and how the enemy managed to manipulate us but it was not solely us that were part of this battle. The entirety of the Gotei Thirteen is responsible and I don't think the Captain Commander would punish that many of us. In fact, that is not what we should be worrying about right now. What should come first at this moment is asking every man and woman involved in the battle what they know. The enemy's strategy, power level, abilities, and the place and form of entry will be required to prevent this from happening again. Measures should be taken to stop us from getting manipulated a second time. Sephiroph paused and lifted a hand to his chin, staring at the floor thoughtfully for a second so he could gather his thoughts.
"Captain, I'd like to suggest a meeting to be held so all of those involved can share what they witnessed during the fight. Then maybe we can piece together the whole situation and find out what the enemy wanted and if they were able to achieve what they wished or not. I believe with all of us in the same room at once, we could get more than enough information as quickly as possible. Sephiroph finally looked up, a serious look on his face. His piercing eyes were calculating and stern. It was not the time to point fingers or take blame; finding out as much as they could was the most important action right now.
"However, if the meeting is not possible, interviewing one or a few of the participants at once would work as well. Looking over records from the battle is also a viable course of action. It is up to you, Jack."

Jack looked up from her notes and, sighed, “The problem is that I don’t know who all was involved.” Jack explained, “I came in at the tail end of the event. Nanashi,” Jack corrected herself, “Captain Yamamoto was fighting a man that I didn’t think was an Arrancar. He fled after my attack made contact. It annoyed him.” Jack’s brow furrowed, “I think he was part of a group and, whatever their goals were I think they achieved them.” Jack shrugged her shoulders as she looked up from her notes, “It’s not Division Three’s job to gather and process information. When the Head-Captain calls a Captain’s Meeting, as he will, I will take these notes as my report. I will also discuss what happens at this meeting with you afterwards.” Jack’s voice and face took on what she called her Captain Persona, “Other than that all we can do is continue to train and, be on guard. So be on guard Officers of Division Three. We will not falter.”
Jack sighed and looked at her paperwork. She had gotten a lot of it done but, she was nowhere near finished. It was going to be a late night to tonight. At least that meant no nightmares.
Jack told her boys, “Unless you two have any questions you’re both dismissed.” Jack gestured at her paperwork, “I’m going to work on this until I can’t see straight. Then I’m going to the archery range until I can’t feel my fingers.”
Jack looked at her men to see if they had any questions. She would try to answer them as best she could. As subtly as she could Jack rolled her shoulders. Her back was all in knots from leaning over her desk for too long. However she didn’t want a certain blue-eyes person to worry; as he was wont to.

『Ulixes Cernuus』
Ulixes nodded to both Sephiroph's and Jack's statements, before turning to face Sephiroph after they were dismissed by Jack. "Would you care for some sparring?" He knew that his Lieutenant had had built up energy that he needed to burn off, and there was no way to do quite like a fight. "If we are waiting for news from the parties involved in the invasion, the best thing to do is train, so as to ensure such an event does not happen again."
While Ulixes intended to practice with his Shikai, due to how it functioned, the ranges weren't quite right for such a task - though it was ranged, it functioned in the same way as a melee weapon, meaning a good old-fashioned sparring session was one of the best ways to train with it. "There are several Zanjutsu techniques I have been meaning to work on, and I have no doubt that you have excess energy in need of burning. It is an arrangement that would suit both of us, if you have no other plans."

Sephiroph remained attentive until Jack was finished and when she was done speaking, he sighed. Not knowing who all was involved was nerve racking. Yet it was certain the Captain Commander would have a Captain meeting over the whole ordeal so they would know soon unless they were ordered to keep secret. Which was rather unlikely.
Sephiroph had no questions to ask about the whole situation. He could not help with his lack of knowledge of the battle so there was no point in asking for more details when Jack knew almost as much as he did.
Turning to face Ulixes, Sephiroph grinned widely so his sharp canines showed. A spar sounded perfect right now and the excitement his facial expression showed was more than his words could offer. "I think I'll have to take you up on that offer. Targeting sparring dummies is less lively than I'd like. I can't exactly work on my defense in that situation." Sephiroph replied and then shifted his look back to Jack.
"I'm going to go spar a bit, Cap'n. Would you mind if I came back later? I've some things I wish to speak of with you." He asked simply, eying her shoulder for a moment and then letting his eyes shift right back up to hers. He knew she would notice the fact he looked at her shoulder. He wanted her to know he was worried for her just like she didn't want him to be. Sephiroph always worried; not of her capabilities in strength or for her being hurt however. He knew she was incredibly strong physically. What he worried about was more her mental state. He did not wish for her to carry so much stress on her own.
Without waiting for an answer, Sephiroph spun on his heel so he was facing the door. Lifting his hands up behind his head so he could stretch a bit, Sephiroph started to walk towards the exit to leave for the training grounds.
"I'll be back later! If you're not home I guess I'll just have to break in and go through your things!" Sephiroph teased and lifted a hand away from the back of his head to wave a 'goodbye' to her.
(Ooc: Short as well.)
"We both know sooner or later you'll forget to..."
Jack called out to her boys as they left, “Try not to kill each other boys. You’re both to gorgeous to loss.” Then Jack smiled as she made eye contact with Sephiroph, “I might be in the archery range by the time you get done.” Jack shrugged, “Or my room, if you take to long.” Jack laughed, “So come and find me when you’re done. You know me. I will always have time for someone as good-looking at you.”
Then Jack turned back to her inventory paperwork. She puzzled over it as she thought. She should have known that Sephiroph would have seen though her façade. Jack sighed. Maybe she would run off to a bar instead, That would work except that Sephiroph knew her haunts better than she did.
Jack gave her head a shake. She couldn’t worry about that now. She had paperwork to do. Page by page she signed requests and invoices. Then she came across something and, she let out a yelp.
Jack yelled after Ulixes, “WE need more red pens! Nest time get red pens!”
Jack had no idea if Ulixes heard her or not. It didn’t matter. Jack would just ask him about it the next time she saw him.
