DEUS EX"Oh, good. You're still alive." The unenthusiastic voice belongs to a hunter giving an equally unenthusiastic wave from a pile of rubble. "Guess you trainees really are roaches. Kind of wonder why you didn't have to climb the outside of this shithole, but I guess before you leave some of you are going to be lookin' for tablets that made the drop intact." The hunter barks a laugh. "Knowing how His Highness works though, we both know that's not gonna happen. So you know what? Lemme make you a deal." A gloved hand is raised in gesture. "Lemme see your weapon for a bit. If you want, I can redirect some of your weapon's Fear shield to making it hit harder. Nothing ventured, nothing gained y'know? The OOC OPTIONAL: Nothing Ventured Nothing Gained THIS IS ENTIRELY OPTIONAL.Should you choose to accept, you will gain +3 to add to your regular attack dice. ie, if you normally roll 2d10? It will become 2d10+3. This has no effect on Fear attacks. Examples: Rolling 1, 5. 1+5= 6-6 = miss usually. With this? 1+5+3 = 9-6 = 3 damage. Rolling, 7, 4. 7+4 = 11-6 = 5. 7+4+3=14-6 = 8. HOWEVER:Your character's HP will drop by 10 for the rest of event. Do you normally have 40/40 HP? Until the event ends you're at 30/30 HP. It will not return to 40/40 until the entire event ends. Even if your character dies this value will not reset.IN ADDITION:If you roll doubles you will lose this buff. Your HP will not return to normal. In addition, your character's weapon will be muted. ON THE FLIPSIDE:To fully charge your weapon, it only requires 2 charges instead of 3. However if your weapon breaks, it will require 4 charges before you can use your Fear! OOC Tag Suggestion HP: ##/## Charges: -/2 Buff: +3 Dmg to Regular Attack Target:Damage:

Tossing her hair back, combing fingers through the tangles of red and purple hair atop her skull, Cami grinned a bit. "Of course I'm still alive. Working me to death takes a lot more than trekking through a desert. I've been burned alive and won." Eyes skimmed the area. "Plus, to be honest, I haven't seen much other than overgrown bugs around here. Wouldn't it take more than that to kill one of us?" Shrugging slightly she blinked at the offer. It seemed pretty obvious who 'His Highness' was. Overall there were two obvious reactions to Caelius: ultimate respect or ultimate disgust. Nothing in-between. Redirecting the Fear shield seemed like something that shouldn't be done. Couldn't be done. Yet she couldn't help but be intrigued. There were so many hunters here, she was a ranged fighter, what were the serious odds that there wouldn't be someone to help get her a** out of trouble if necessary? And faster damage? Stronger damage? Wasn't that her job as a Sun. "Yeah, sure." Touching the totem at her neck Kidana was pulled out, handed over. "Go crazy."

Nora had similar thoughts. For one, being a basic trainee didn't excuse her from helping with the main offense, whenever that ended up happening. Her bouts with the bugs before had also told her that she could really use the boost. That, and she really did find the risk strangely appealing: all good things had a chance of going horribly wrong, after all; that was how you knew they were worth it.
Her partner was thankfully amenable. If it impresses the hot people, let's totally do it gogogogogo~ We'll be like SMASH CRASH BAM YEAH CHECK US OUT WE'RE TOTALLY ON FIRE HERE TAKE PICS BOILS AND GHOULS!
The lesser shield bit could become a bit worrisome, but they could worry about that later. Besides, maybe there were enough of them there that one extra trainee busting things with a hammer would go unnoticed.
"'Lo there, Cam~" she greeted her fellow Sun as she approached, a buoyant smile on her face despite the tiring and nearly constant tasks put upon them. Nora wiped grime off her face--remnants of dried bug goo she had forgotten about in her haste to get the hell out of dodge--unhooked the fang earring serving of Beatrix's totem, and offered it to the tech as well. "Reckon I couldn't let you be the only special one, might get to your head," she added teasingly to Cami before turning to her attention to the tech. "I'll have what the lady's having."

"Oooh, big accomplishment there." The hunter replied to Cami. If their face wasn't obscured, very likely they would be openly rolling their eyes. "You've still fresh, aintcha? Lucky, lucky you." The hunter reached out as the weapon was offered, handing it back until the weapon was presented in its weapon form. Runic devices that seemed to be cobbled together flickered dangerously as they were attached to the weapon, hissing and spitting as the weapon's runes began to dim. The weapon would feel something sharp sinking into it. If it had a body it would be akin to the sensation of having its skin slowly peeled back and rolled up before being liquified and heated, then injected into it. The weapon's runes would begin to grow unusually bright, and grow brighter still as charges were absorbed. Finished, the hunter unhooked the runics and handed Cami's weapon back. As Nora approached, the hunter gestured for the weapon. Then stopped, and held a restraining hand out. "Hell naw," the hunter snapped, "I ain't lifting that s**t. Hold it up for me," they ordered instead. Once Nora held the weapon out, the hunter rose from their seat and repeated the process before returning to the pile of rubble. "Suns, huh? Hope you two got moons to cover your a**. Just sayin'."

Fluffing her hair out again Cami couldn't help but make light of something that had been haunting her for weeks. "Nah, it always stops at the neck. My head's safe." It was how she had ended up with the adorably short curls that, when clean and not caked in sweat and grime, were getting her all the best attention these days. Her mother had always screamed down the roof when she talked about cutting it and so she'd never known. Never! Well that was something that was going to be fixed. Sarcasm, as usual, was ignored for the most part. Everyone not a trainee came in two categories: dismissed them or helped them. This person was falling between the scale on the two but seemed to tip towards the former which just made her sigh a bit. Still, Kidana was handed over and seemed a little nervous but fairly enthusiastic. Yet at some point, inside of Camille's mind, there was an unearthly sound that made the hair stand up on the back of her neck. It would be awhile before she figured out that was her weapon's scream of pain. Taking it back she was a bit surprised at the question. "Of course. I've got a cute blonde who doesn't do much but watch my a**. It's very nice. Barring that I have another adorable blonde who packs a giant punch and can cover while I get the hell outta dodge." Why else would she take the risk?

Nora took the snapping in stride, merely waiting patiently as she held the hammer out to be fiddled with. Much like Cami, she felt some discomfort on Beatrix's end (the majority of the actual pain being blocked for her hunter's sake, though the high-pitched and constant whimpers made her worry), but she kept as neutral a face as possible as the runes began to glow. "Thanks," she told him pleasantly, spinning her weapon in her hands a few times and feeling how it brimmed with energy, almost hummed. "What're you, Life? Good job on the research either way, I was wondering if we could get a little boost . . ."
She might've been a little jealous at the ease some of the older hunters had in battle.
"Good on you, Cam," Nora then said with a grin. "Me, I'm still, er . . . working on that, I suppose. Don't really know many Moons yet. You got suggestions by chance, Ms. Twitterer?"

A hiss of pain escaped the hunter as they sat down on the rubble, hand reaching up beneath their cowl to presumably massage their temples. "I'll be lucky if I'm not out of here by dawn, whenever the hell that is," the hunter answered truthfully. "Keep your mates close, there's strength in numbers aye?" At the question of division, the hunter shook their head. "Moon. Worked this trick out after I stomped out enough vampires. 's kind of weird the sort of things you can learn from the enemy y'know? If it didn't mean risking my life everyday I'd probably have transferred to death to try and refine it but." The hunter waved their hands as if to dismiss it. "I'm not going to bore either of you with storytime. Give'em hell and send anyone else my way if you think they'll be interested. Just be careful out there, a'ight?"
