Their barriers set up, Lex and Dillon were now tasked with taking out any Insanity creatures they found roaming the desert. The task sounded easy enough, considering this place just reeked of foul Fear and loss.

Wandering a bit deeper into the desert revealed their beast, a millipede that stood as tall as a man, made of smoke and cyan and hissing and biting.
"Alrighty, let's terminate this thing and get the hell out of Dodge." Lex called back to Dillon, pulling out his gun and stepping back a few paces.

The mist trainee rushed forward, slashing the sword down at the giant millipede-
only to have the sword unravel itself into a chain of smaller blades.

Yes I have, he paused to whip the chain around the milipede, cutting into its exoskeleton.
- not been slacking off all this time you know.
The mist trainee tugged at the chain, recalling the blades back into a sword.

Still recovering from the surprise attack, Lex slammed the heel of his boot into the fleshy underpart of the millipede and took a few steps back, smile replaced with a grimace.

Lex fired off a few round of energy bullets before being hit again, feeling incredibly grateful for the shields they had. They'd be straight up screwed if they had to fight like the Halloweeners... but they didn't get to come back after dying.

"Er, watch out yea." While the mist trainee liked to think he knew what he was doing, he hadn't exactly mastered the use of this particular attack just yet.
With a whipping motion, the sword unfurled itself into a chain of glowing blades. A flick of the wrist. Each small blade disconnected itself from the chain, flying towards the millipede and embedding itself in its body.

"Impressive. My turn." Lex smiled, cocking back the now glowing wings of Regal's pistol.
"You may want to cover you ears." He suggested to Dillon before pulling the trigger, a mass of light energy formed around the barrel and rocketed off towards the millipede in a sharp tenor crescendo, plunging a hole straight through all its armor and disintegrating it in an instant.
"So... time to head back to camp. Maybe they have juice boxes."
