Taima was bored. There didn't seem to be any other interns around, and all of the employees of this strange little office actually seemed to be working instead of running around screaming about budgets and quotas and deadlines. Taima had pressed all of the coffee maker and was fairly sure that she could handle most simple orders now. She had even tried a few cups of different things herself, but still found that she liked regular, plain old coffee the best.
The cups she had tried but hadn't finished sat out on the counter, waiting for her to stop playing around and rinse them out. Taima had intended to do just that--at some point--but found one of the cups missing when she went to collect them. In its place was a handful of silver seeds. Less washing for her to do and money? Win/win!

A passing demon noticed Taima pouring all of the coffee variations into one big cup so she could wash out all of the little cups without having coffee stain the sink. "I'll take whatever that is," he said.
"Are you sure?" Taima asked, perplexed. "It's a bunch of--"
"Shhhh," the demon said. "Don't ruin the mystery. Just hand it over."
Taima shrugged and did so, whistling innocently as she heard the demon cough on the first sip of overly-potent, too-sweet coffee. She had warned him, after all.

"E-e-e-e-excuse m-m-me," said a jittery ghost just as Taima had set the last clean cup out to dry.
"Closed," Taima said.
"O-oh," the ghost muttered. "I-I-I j-j-just w-w-w-anted a c-c-cup of c-c-coffee," she said sadly.
"Like regular coffee?"
"Y-y-yes."
"Like plain, no-frills, no extra ingredients?"
"Y-y-yes!"
"Well," Taima said, taking a couple of cups off the rack, "okay. But just this once."
