Essays || Alec writes a lot. And not fiction - he writes essays and opinion pieces. Lots, and lots, and lots of them. You thought anonymous political essays were a thing of the past? You are tragically wrong. Alec has posted multiple essays online under pseudonyms on a variety of topics, though he is pretty reasonably aware of what his lane is and he makes an effort to stay in it.
Research || Alec did not get where he is without learning him some things. He loves abusing his college database access to just read papers on topics that interest him, has a huge collection of books on all kinds of subjects - particularly biographies, people are fascinating - and if he doesn't have a pen in his hand it's like as not he's reading something.
Politics || Alec is aggressively involved in politics. He is proud of both his immigrant heritage and his fairly recent citizen status, and he considers politics absolutely fascinating. It is, according to him, his absolute civic duty to participate in the governmental process of his adopted country. And sure, he can't be President, but he could sure as hell run for House or Senate someday.
Virtues:
Eloquent || Alec has a way with words, on the page and out loud. He knows how to clearly communicate his ideas, in a way that makes people want to listen. He can also bullshit a paper like nothing else, so if you ever need help making your paper longer, he is the man to ask.
Passionate || Alec believes in things with every fiber of his being. He believes in human rights, in the power of protest, in the infinite potential of every person. And it goes beyond the fire of his beliefs; his passion bubbles over into everything he does, and he hates to do things halfway for any reason.
Ambitious || Alec wants to Be Somebody. He may be a b*****d orphan immigrant attending college on scholarship and loans and working two jobs just to keep himself in an apartment and put food on the table, but he wants to be so much more, and he's willing to put in the work to get there.
Flaws:
Hot Temper || It really isn't hard to make Alec angry. He has a fairly tightly-held sense of personal honor, can be violently protective of those he cares about, and generally rises pretty easily to any presented bait. If duels were still a thing, he would be slapping people with gloves left and right. As it is, he's not afraid to throw down if he thinks he has to. Someday, it's gonna get him arrested.
Intense || Alec has no chill. Alec is not sure that "chill" is a thing that is desirable to possess. He does everything 110%, puts all of himself into his work, and hardly stops to consider that other people might not be able to keep up, or that it might not be wise to live like he's running out of time.
Thoughtless || Alec may have a way with words, but sometimes...well. Sometimes, "context" and "consequences" are problems for other people. Is it wise to get into a debate in the middle of the street? Hell no. Should he be so proudly open about what he believes? Probably not all the time. Is he going to do it anyway? Oh, hell yes.

Sailor Valjean can use this attack three times per battle.
Super Sailor Scout Attack: Voice of the People!
Sailor Valjean shouts the name of his attack and punches the air, and a circle of makeshift barricades, about five feet high, appears around him in a nine-foot radius. Within the barricades, first and second-stage characters feel lighter and faster, whereas third and fourth-stage characters feel weighed down and slowed. These effects last for thirty seconds. Sailor Valjean can use this attack three times per battle.
Eternal Sailor Attack: Blood of the Martyrs!
Sailor Valjean shouts the name of his attack and punches the air, and a circle of makeshift barricades, about five feet high, appears around him in a twelve-foot radius. Within the barricades, any injury done to first- or second-stage characters is transferred to third- or fourth-stage characters, including potentially Valjean himself, for the duration of the attack. Who takes injuries from whom is random, and determined with each individual injury - so there is not a direct one-to-one link. This lasts for thirty seconds. Valjean can only use this attack once per battle.
