To continue bringing new blood into the pride, a single Inselelo can be challenged for his position as opposed to taking on the entire pride’s males for an overthrow. OOCly, the new position is “protected” as long as the player continues to RP actively in the pride until the point their term expires. At this time, the rank my be both OOCly and ICly won from the current standing Inselelo. Note that, ICly, the current Inselele may have been challenged during the OOC “protected” term, but he was assumed to have won these by default ICly.
Any adult male lion, regardless of whether or not they were born in the pride, currently live in the pride, or are a rogue, may challenge Inselele whose terms are expired.
Challenging:
- You may begin challenging at 12:01am CST of the day the Inselelo's term ends.
Fill out the challenge form.
Post the challenge along with a roll of 2, D20 dice in this thread. Then, fill in the remainder of the form and quote or PM the owner of the Inselelo.
If your character is an adolescent, they take a -10 to their total score, but can still try.
Please post separately for each lion you are issuing a challenge with.
Each character may only challenge once a month, and each player may challenge with a maximum of two characters per Inselelo.
Keep in mind the IC behavior of your lion and be prepared to accept IC consequences for a hostile challenger. For example, do not enter if your lion intends to kill the current Inselelo unless you have permission from that Inselelo’s owner. If you enter with a lion who then tries to take over the entire pride, he is likely to get beaten up by the other males in the pride and may be cast out or killed.
Note: If your character loses, an RP of the event is not required. However, if you and the player of the Inselelo would like to roleplay out the event, please feel free.

Answering a Challenge:
- You have 1 week to roll an answer to a challenge, or your lion will be considered defeated.
To answer, simply quote your challenger and roll 2, D20. As the defender, Inselele have a natural advantage and gain +5 to the roll total.

Won Challenges:
- If you have won a challenge OOCly, you are not yet guaranteed the spot. You must RP the challenge with the Inselelo’s player to become official. This can be as short or as long as you would like, but you will have one month to complete it.
In the event the RP is unfinished at the end of the month, the position will be given to the last poster. (Note: Extensions may be given if both players are posting consistently)
To officially claim the rank, post a link to the finished RP in this thread, or an incompleted RP that the other party failed to respond to.
More information will be PMed to you in the event of an overthrow.
Special Notes
- This is an active role. Do not challenge if you can't RP with multiple kinds of people. RP requirements for terms are shown under the Inselelo rank information.
Owning a lion of Inselele or Umholi rank means you give up your right to determine where cubs go from breedings. If the owner of the female wishes to include you in the process, that is his/her choice. Please do not enter a challenge if you are not comfortable with this.
In addition, all RPs made after they have obtained the rank will be listed in the breeding forum to be claimed by anyone. While your lion may not breed with a female for IC reasons, you should not pursue this rank if you forsee OOC issues with certain players claiming a breeding. (Note: RPs that were done before being in the rank will not be put on the list for claiming unless you voluntarily give them)
That being said, these are not hard and fast rules. If you need RPs for a plot and don't wish them to go on the list, for example, then exceptions can be made.
