Of course when Jason got back from his ordeal in the desert, he was sent straight back out to retrieve more items in the form of weapons tablets. It was a grizzly task to be sure, as in order to be weapon tablets there would have to be deceased hunters.
Still, he wasn't about to decline as Caelius would have his head on a plate, and with a frown he adjusted his clothes and walked out into the blistering sun again towards the strange tower.
The place itself was incredibly tall, and even if he craned his neck Jason could not see the top. However he could see the remains of a battle around the perimeter
He shuddered, not wanting to know what they were fighting here as he went to go search.

It was disturbing to see so many bloodstains splattered in the sand, but he continued to patrol the area in search of the illusive tablets.

"Why does it have to be so hot?" He complained to no one, kicking up sand as he bent down to examine the skeletal remains for signs of it's tablet.

He could see some strange stones sticking out, but on closer inspection they appeared to be some sort of fossil. Was it human, or something else?
Jason couldn't be sure.

There were plenty of these fossils lying about, but no weapon tablets so far.
Jason wasn't sure if he felt relived at this, or frustrated as he couldn't find them.

He could see lots of blood though, and the more he looked at it the more he thought about how fresh it was...

Did that mean whatever it was that killed these hunters was still around, or did they defeat them?

He really hoped whatever it was had been killed off, as if he had to fight it he was sure he would be killed himself.
Or faint in terror. That was a possibility.

As he scanned the sands he spied the corner of a piece of stone. Bending down, he brushed the sand away and realized with a sinking feeling that it was a weapons tablet.
He had never touched one of these, besides Zanth tablet. But when he picked it up he didn't feel the whispers of the weapon inside.
Looking around the area, he wondered where the previous owner of the tablet was...

Trudging through the sand, Jason adjusted the scarf around his neck and squinted against the sunlight as the heat shimmered off the sand, obscuring many of the black skulls and fossils that lay partially buried.

Maybe a insanity centipede, or that disgusting hole in the ground with all the teeth. And the impaled bodies.
The very thought made him shake, and when he turned around he mistook a misshapen bone to be a tooth and screamed.

He then realized that no one was around to hear him scream, which meant that no one was around to come save him if he got attacked.
...He wanted to be around someone again.
