When you are ready, have your team start searching by rolling 1d6. There are lots of unusual shaped fossils to encounter, mostly blackened masses with mutated skulls, but none of them radiate Fear. If you roll a 5 you find something that is heavily invested with Fear, and you have to use the given bag to gather it up and bring it back. When a 5 has been rolled 3 times your lime limit is up and you can head back. The quest is considered COMPLETED. Mark the title of the thread as so. - Remember that the quests below are just MECHANICS. It is up to you to breathe life to them, to interact with other players and make things meaningful! Otto had managed to scrape off most of the bug guts. Most. He was still dirty. Still miserable. Where was his damn shower? He couldn't waste a water bottle on his body when he could really use it for hydrating. And so, he had to go on a mission, with a hot girl, looking like s**t. Great.

Maebe wished she'd known that scavenging was clearly the less disgusting of the options for their work out in the desert. She would have preferred not to have almost decapitated a giant cockroach - even if it had been a little badass. It wasn't as if badass had ever gotten her anything - in fact, killing the damn thing had made both of her partners leave her. Alone. So what was the point? She was teamed with Otto again, and he looked just as grumpy as he had been in the morning, though she couldn't know whether his looks matched his attitude yet. He, surely, had seen more action than her. Everybody would, since Maebe had kept to ignoring her duties whenever possible. She'd only teamed with him and Cami so far, and would be happy to keep it that way. Scavenging, therefore, was the optimal choice. She turned on her detector and pointed it at him, reading his Fear ratings. Though his weapon might have given some out, Maebe knew that Otto wasn't afraid of anything out there. "Nothing." She told him with a smug smile. "Bet I can find more than you can, though." To her, everything was a game.

"Cute." Otto grumbled, looking her dead in the eye. "C'mon. Let's get this over with." His damned mission with Melvin, Rin, Harrison and Rep had left him covered head to toe in Scorpion goop. And look at her. She'd probably spent the better part of the day just ******** b***h.

"Yes. I am." She agreed, nodding sagely. Her Fear detector found absolutely nothing of value, and she climbed higher, determined to find something before he did. "So, kill anything while you were out there? Or did you miss your secret weapon?" It was clear by 1. the fact he was covered in s**t and 2. the fact that he was alive, that he did not need her, or anybody, fighting his battles. That didn't stop her from needling him about it.

"I didn't need no secret weapon. I landed the killing blow, and got soaked in Scorpion guts for it." Otto snarled, pointing his fear scanner and trudging through the dunes of sand.

"I landed the killing blow. And I managed to stay clean. I could give you some pointers sometime." Her detector went off, high up on a plank, and she bent in to pick up a beautiful, broken piece of jewelry. She used the protective bag to pick it up, and jingled it towards him.
"See? Secret weapon. Why don't you just admit it now, Otto? You need me."

Otto glared at her for a long time. She was just out besting him at everything without even trying, it seemed. He tried so hard. He was covered in his efforts. Scars, bug s**t. But ******** porcelain doll.
"Bite me." He growled.

His response made her brighten up. She slid down the sand dune she'd been perched on, until she was right beside him. It was a testament to how much she liked the boy, that she was leaning in to him despite all of the gunk he was covered in. She brushed her hand across his neck roughly, and then tilted her head in to bite it.
"Hey." She pointed out, when she pulled away. "You asked."

She'd stunned the mighty grouch. That, in and of itself, was her mightiest feat of the day.
She walked off directly in front of him, continuing to search. He couldn't see it, but she had the smuggest, most content look on her face.
"It's funny." She murmured, quieter now. "You taste like bug, but I can still taste you underneath." She flickered a glance back at him, and then turned back to search, shaking with quiet laughter.

Otto sulked, the fight in him deflating. He quietly and obediently followed after Maebe. "That took balls." He muttered. Biting a dude who'd been bathed in bug guts. Geesh.

She paused in her search, turning to face him fully. Her expression was mystified.
"That's not surprising, is it? I doubt you of all people were unaware of how big my balls are." She looked down at her pants, effortlessly tight, and then back up again. "Well. Metaphorically speaking."

Otto lightly rolled his eyes, waving her aside as he brushed past. "Yeah yeah, whatever." He couldn't even tell her to get to work. She'd already found a Fear object. Brat. He tried not to sulk too badly about it.
"You make sure not to hit me with your metaphorical balls while you prance around out here."
Otto caught something on the detector. Following after it's warnings, he dug a bit deeper into where he stood. There, hid a gem of some kind.

"I thought you liked it when I got kinky." She barely noticed when he found a gem, looking as though she was completely invested in her work (which was obviously never going to be the case.)
But she had noticed, and after a moment or two, she did what she thought an actual person who cared, would do. "Nice find." It sounded awkward, because she didn't know exactly how to say it without sounding sarcastic. "I mean it." Did that help?
In the meantime, she continued to find nothing. Disgusted with her position, she moved forward to another pile of rubble.

Otto glared up at Maebe, his features relaxing slightly as she amended her tone. He felt like he was a kid being told his pebble was a diamond. He stashed it away, moping as he did more digging.
Maybe he could beat her, but he wondered if he'd feel any better. This mission just seemed to put all it's effort into kicking him around.
