Nim took another package and held it to her chest, rushing towards the portal. Just before she got there, however, she saw two students nearby and skid to a halt.
"Hey, you guys delivering stuff too? Wanna do it together?"

Lock had genuinely no idea how he'd arrived here. He also wasn't pleased. He didn't want to run coffee for someone he didn't know, for people he didn't care about.
But then coffee was put in his hands and a girl was asking if he wanted to help. "Not really."
He just sort of stared at her, waiting for a response.

Clara turned around to see student with a package, asking if she and another student would like to join in delivery. Delivering packages had to be easier than making coffee right?
"Sure."

Nim pouted at the boy. "I'm not gonna make you, but you should. It's fun! If you decide you want to, just follow me!" She said that, but she was clearly very disappointed in you for not participating. Shame on you, Lock.
She turned a sunny smile on the girl and motion for her to follow as she stepped out of the building and into the bright sunny desert. "Which direction should we go this time...?"

Lock was about to set down the cup and just leave, since Shun clearly wouldn't be here, but then he thought about it. These girls were the only lead he had thus far on clues. Walking away would rob him of a potential explanation as to what was going on.
He quietly padded behind them, keeping his head down. "Why are you just doing what they say?" he questioned. Maybe there was rhyme to the reason?

Clara pointed in at an arbitrary direction and said, "This way, I guess?" They would probably reach their delivery location at SOME point, and Clara definitely preferred walking around instead of taking orders for beverages she didn't know how to make and shoving "random ingredient soup" at creeple.
She wasn't sure how to answer the male reaper. She would feel awkward standing in the middle of a busy office, everyone scurrying around her, while she would be standing there, not doing anything, if she hadn't been doing intern work. But she would never tell that to anyone so she stayed silent.

That direction was as good as any, so Nim shrugged and followed the ghoul's lead. She talked over her shoulder to the boil as she walked. "Well, it's either do what they ask and actually do something or stand around getting in the way. I'd rather stay busy."
She smiled at him and then turned back around to look out for a reaper to deliver to. "I'm Nim by the way."

Lock squinted at both of them. "Yes but ... you do realize this is a building that popped up in the middle of the desert. Neither of you find that strange?"
He set a cup of coffee down on a desk, only to have the man begin sneering at him, demanding the coffee be removed from his precious mahogany desk.
The reaper slowly scooted away and continued following the girls. "Lock," was all he gave for a name.

Clara hadn't really thought about the fact that there was a huge building that had appeared in a desert. She'd been focusing on getting out of the heat, but now that she was back outside, it was really bothering her. Why was there a building in the desert? Surely they didn't need to be there ... couldn't they do their paperwork in some other place? She gave a shrug.
She also quickly said, "Clara".

"Yeah, it's strange, but refusing to do anything doesn't make it less strange. It just means you're standing in place." She shook the package she was holding a bit and squinted at it. "I wonder why they have so many papers to sign, though."

Clara had to agree with Nim. Standing around wasn't going to tell them why they were sent to a desert or why there was a huge building in the middle of nowhere. Maybe there were clues they might find by talking to the people in the work place? But considering how none of them were willing to answer their questions...

"I already said it was strange. I just don't think that's an excuse to not do anything."
She finally noticed a figure in the distance and picked up her pace. "You picked the right direction! Now we just drop this off-" she said, plopping the package into the reaper's hands, "and we're done! Thanks for helping me out guys. I'm gonna go do something else now."
