Beatrix was so pleased that her totem was practically buzzing in Nora's ear. Such mobs, very hunter, wow! IT was the best practice ever, and better yet she got to gobble lots of Fear for it. The black dog had been yipping for more even as Nora dragged herself back to camp--and she wouldn't be disappointed.

"Good grief, so this is what it means to be a Sun," Nora grunted, rolling her shoulders as she headed in the direction her officer had mentioned. It was a partnered one this time since their numbers had already been srpead thin, but at this point she didn't mind: it was clear most hunters were pretty capable fighters. She hoped she'd be able to keep up, because right now she swore there was a stitch forming in her side . . .

- Create a PRP thread and title it [QUEST PRP ] Dispatch Team (PLAYER NAMES HERE).
- Next, write your introduction posts to your team having gathered their wits and gotten ready to do the process. When you are ready, have your team start searching by rolling 2d6. If the first dice you roll is 1 or 6, you have encountered a MOB. It can take any shape or form (of insects), so the person who rolled it can describe the creature. It has 40 HP and does the second dice's worth of damage damage (ie roll 1,3 and you find a bug that does 3 auto damage). Use normal battle mechanics to take it out, you do not need to rp out the battle after your first initial battle post. Once you have, this quest is considered COMPLETED.
- If you have started this quest prior to the update, just make a mob post to determine its auto damage. Use that for the duration of the quest.

Evan chuckled as he overheard Nora. "Welcome to Deus," he said as he brushed by her. "Room and board on a tropical island and all the monsters you can kill--what more can you ask for?"

/Blood,/ Gir growled happily, /and meat, and Fear, and and and let's go!/

"Yes, room and board in a torture room without windows!" Nora exclaimed, sounding more frustrated by the lack of a view than the blood stains she couldn't wash out of her floor. Still, at least they were pairing her with people she knew, and she pushed past her impulse to sit down and rest to follow after Evan. "Did I mention the showers are god awful too? I'm afraid of contracting something literally every time I step in. Like 'I should shower after this shower' sort of deal."

"Well, you know," Evan replied, "my room doesn't have a torture chamber or anything, but it does have a window, and my mom always taught me that sharing is caring." He kept one eye on Nora while the other scanned the area for any immediate threats. "And if worse comes to worse, I'm sure no one will mind if you use the showers on the first floor. They're cleaner, anyway. Anyway, I don't think you can contract anything as long as Bea's on the job."

Nora's brow raised with surprise. The offer was too good to be for free, whatever casual tone he was putting it in. "Maybe," she said distractedly. "Depends on the terms of me paying for room and board. Heads up, I've spotted one!"

One being a bloated, sluggish looking fly. It barely seemed aware they were even close by.

She summoned her hammer and gestured at Evan. "Age before beauty~"

"Okay, you caught me," Evan sighed. "I may need someone to wash dishes. Cooking's not always clean, y'know."

He shifted gears immediately as Nora pointed out the bug-looking thing drifting in their direction. Gir yipped happily as Evan summoned him and swung in one smooth motion. They knocked the fly off course and it veered awkwardly towards them, but it was so ungainly that it didn't do much more than brush by them as Evan stepped out of the way. "Can't argue with that. Look, we even saved you some."

She rolled her eyes goodnaturedly. "We'll see, then. But one make me a sandwich comment and I'm done," she warned. Not that Evan struck her as that kind, but Nora loved cooking enough that she had suffered the tasteless joke more than enough.

Following suit, she struck out and gave the bug a good whack, making a face as it began oozing something foul. "Why thank you! Already feel at home," she said airily, "with me and my big flyswatter. It's a nice break after the previously nasty one."

"Aw, but I like sandwiches," Evan teased. He didn't need her to make him sandwiches, of course--would probably, actually, make an extra one for her if he made one for himself--but he'd never say no to free food. And it would be nice to share space with someone else who cooked. And that was it. Really.

/Liar~!/

Evan shut Gir's accusations up with another mouthful of the monster, frowning in concern as Nora mentioned having previously fought something like this. This one may have been no big threat, but that didn't mean they were all pushovers. "You okay?"

The creature made a high pitched buzzing shriek as it bumped against her, multiple legs scrabbling for purchase. Nora waved Evan off before smacking the fly with a knee jerk squeal. Gross as all hell oh gods. "M'fine," she assured him as she swept her hand over the offending area that had been touched. "Just don't like bugs, let alone big ones. So, this accommodation mean we sharing beds too?"

For now, it sounded neutral.

Evan tried so hard to stifle a laugh at Nora's reaction to the bug and was only mostly successful. "I mean, it could," he hedged, trying not to sound too hopeful. He poked at the bug to watch it flail, more playing with it than anything else.

"Gotta warn you, though, I am absolutely a cuddler." And a screamer, as in waking up in the middle of most nights doing just that. Maybe he hadn't thought this through. Maybe Nora was a deep enough sleeper that it wouldn't matter.

"Oh no, not a cuddler." She prodded the fly back towards him, like it was some odd balloon they were playing with. "I mean, if you've got a couch or something up in that fancy room of yours, I can take that too. Not picky on where I lie down, honest."

Beatrix cackled.

"You don't seem to take being touched well, is all I'm saying. Or maybe it's just me." Evan feigned a pout, remembering all the times he had gotten smacked just for being in her personal space. "No couch, there's not enough space for that, but the bed's big enough for two." That was only partially true--as tall and broad as he was, it was definitely big enough for him, but they may have had to cuddle to fit both of them in there. He certainly wasn't too upset at that prospect.

He passed the bug back to Nora. "Ladies first." Gir's runes were crackling with energy, but they would wait. Gir didn't even complain too much; he would be happy to cede the kill to Beatrix--and Nora too, he supposed.

She wagged a finger at him and said, "I don't like being woken up, that''s quite different! And mind you, I had no idea where I was or who you were." But a bed was a bed and an actual room was an actual room. Nora figured she could squat every once in a while rather than make it a permanent stay--it made her feel less like she owed him big time. In fact, switching off between Gale and Evan sounded like a mighty fine plan . . .

Given the chance to show off, Nora gave him a salute and a grin. "What a gentleman. Let's see--"

She did as before, tugging on that odd new link between her and Beatrix, but something seemed off. Her partner was charged, sure, but her attention was somewhere else--oh gods. Nora chastised her sternly about what felt like a swiftly moving porno in her head, hoping she could manage to kill the damn bug at the same time.

Nope. When the hammer flew it hit the ground instead, and Beatrix was too distracted at first to notice the initial jolts of electricity were not being chanelled into the mob creature; and even then, she didn't seem terribly apologetic about it, as her imagination had been used for a good cause. The sun hunter gasped and twitched a little, leaning over her weapon as she cursed.

"I'm fine," she told Evan quickly, eyes shut tight. "I'm fine. Just kill the damn thing."

Evan made a show of sniffling at her. "Uh huh," he said as though he didn't quite believe her. If she hadn't liked him waking her up from her pod-induced sleep, he supposed he could expect being covered in bruises if she took him up on his offer--he was an early riser, nightmares willing, even for early risers.

He obligingly stepped back to let Nora do her thing, surprised as she actually launched her weapon and alarmed as it backfired on her. He took a step towards her, instinctively reaching out even as Nora insisted that she was fine. Gir was frantic, whimpering and whining and not at all focused on the fact he was holding a full charge.

Calm down, Evan soothed, but it was too late. No sooner had he raised his weapon than the Fear coating the teeth of the blade crackled and exploded, fragments flying every which way but at the monster. The pain was sharp and intense, though thankfully brief, and it drew choice muttered curses from him that were much, much louder in his head as he chastised Gir.

The fly bobbled between them, seeming confused by this turn of events.
