Hanna's first task with Cami had gone amazingly -- they were done in only a handful of minutes! The next task, also scavenging, but with Jack took way, way longer. Jack was cool and all, but she was mooooore than happy to be away from that tower and back in the tent. The redheaded Death Hunter barely had time to gulp down water and clean her goggles when new orders came in. "Injury, Nowicki -- you're reassigned," the older Death Hunter told her. The first hint of weariness had just begun to tag at Hanna when she realized what she had been reassigned to -- Dispatch Team. As in... the people who have to kill whatever came their way. Hanna was training every day, but she was in Death for a reason. Fighting was something that she did, of course. It just wasn't her best ability. Lucky for Hanna she was paired with two Sun Hunters -- and two that she knew: Cami and Nora. With a tight pinch in her chest, she slipped her goggles back on and hustled over to the rendevous point. I can do this, I can do this, I can do this... At last... something I get to do...Adelphe was the only one excited, unfortunately. Quote: [ Quest 4: Dispatch Team: ] You are asked to neutralize any insanity creatures that pop out from the sand. - Create a PRP thread and title it [QUEST PRP ] Dispatch Team (PLAYER NAMES HERE). - Next, write your introduction posts to your team having gathered their wits and gotten ready to do the process. When you are ready, have your team start searching by rolling 2d6. If the first dice you roll is 1 or 6, you have encountered a MOB. It can take any shape or form (of insects), so the person who rolled it can describe the creature. It has 40 HP and does the second dice's worth of damage damage (ie roll 1,3 and you find a bug that does 3 auto damage). Use normal battle mechanics to take it out, you do not need to rp out the battle after your first initial battle post. Once you have, this quest is considered COMPLETED. - If you have started this quest prior to the update, just make a mob post to determine its auto damage. Use that for the duration of the quest.

After a nice ol' romp in the horrid wasteland of Insanity creatures, Nora was ready for a water break and was just cracking the bottle open back at camp when a passing Moon hunter barked at her to get back to her group. When Nora attempted to explain she had just finished up, she was directed to another corner where apparently another dispatch team was being formed. He grumbled and sighed, guzzling water as she approached Hanna.
"Guess I'm on a roll then!" the Sun cheered, rubbing the condensation off the bottle and onto her neck once half of its contents had been drained. "Just got back from one. It's not so bad." then again, she had been in a league full of full hunters . . . Bah, she could hold her own, trainee or not! "We the only two, or is someone else coming along? Superior didn't mention names so much."

Cami barely had had time to get cleaned up from her last dispatch before she was being dragged away from Team Gold'n'Grumpy on to something else. It didn't improve her mood any. Now not only did she have to worry about what was making Otto so unhappy, she couldn't even do anything about it! No one seemed to be dragging Otto or Maebe anywhere...maybe they were in need of archers? Probably she just looked too damn energetic and like she hadn't done anything. Dumped in front of a familiar face she couldn't help but laugh a bit. "Gee Hanna, I think it's a sign or something. We keep getting tossed together like this, someone's going to think we like each other." She was remarkably more at-ease than she had been coming here originally and also smiled at Nora. Like a puppy who had fetched the stick and now wanted to be patted on the head she hoped Nora had noticed, and approved, of this difference. "Surprised I'm on dispatch again though, I just got back. Must be more of the critters than they thought."

Hanna turned to regard Nora as she approached, rubbing at the back of her arm. "I just got back too, searching for weapons tablets," she said. The Death Hunter had no idea that Nora's mission had probably been a bit more physically strenuous. "I'm replacing a Sun who was tasked to this, maybe you are too? Cami is coming with us -- oh, there she is." The bright blob of red and purple bobbed into view, and Hanna grinned as Cami approached. "As long as I get to be big spoon," she said, bumping her hip into Cami's. "Well with some double Sun muscle on my side, this shouldn't be too bad, right?" It helped to think of them as 'critters.' Hanna's experience fighting in the field was limited to her trials and two missions. She was by no means... experienced. Pacing toward the identified "place to watch for bad s**t" Hanna drew in a breath and then removed her bone wing earrings. The jewelry began to glow and shift in her palms, swelling in size until it was a massive twin blade hooked on each end. She adjusted her goggles, peering across the shifting sand. "Hey, who knows, maybe we'll get lucky and it will be..." A harsh buzzing split the air. "...quiet." A column of thickly churning insects sprinted upwards, shapeless at first, until it assumed the outline of what appeared to be a lion. Wings burst out of its sides suddenly, pumping twice. "Oh cool, a MOB manticore," Hanna said, swallowing hard. "Should be simple right?" Golden eyes shifted to the two other girls, clearly waiting for one of them to make the first move. Due to my unfortunate dice rolling, this thing will be doing 5 auto-damage.

"Sounds like gobs of fun! I'd be more excited about these constant fights if we weren't in the sorching heat," Nora sighed as she dabbed at her forehead with her scarf end. It was currently half wrapped around her neck and head to provide some shade, but her pale skin was already starting to show signs of pinkness from the heat. If the previous Sahara mission didn't force her to get a tan, this one would.
But hey, it looked like it was going to be a girl's day out, and she was absolutely fine with that~
Nora feigned looking hurt at them and said, "And I'm left out just like that? What am I, your mother? Suppose I'll have to be," she then sighed oh so very wearily for show, casually summoning her hammer and letting it rest against her shoulder. "Someone's got to have a level head, eh?" But she was pleased to see Cami's confidence had grown since her last visit to the Sahara, and she flashed her fellow Sun hunter a well done smile.
Not that it would stop Nora from fussing over them anyway if so much as one thing went wrong.
The insanity creature approached, so she went on the offensive first to try and draw its attention. Her grip was still sweaty from before, however, and she barely nicked the thing and cursed under her breath.

Laughing at the idea of Nora being her mother, she sized up the other Sun trainee. "You're what, three years older than me? Four tops? Geez mom, you were precocious." Hanna as the big spoon didn't get any comment other than a wink from the Antiguan. Hanna wasn't quite her type but it wasn't unlike Cami to go outside of it. Mostly she just wasn't thinking about it which was good -- friendships got complicated sometimes like that.
Watching the Insanity creature swoop out of the air as they walked down into the dispatch area, she felt her knees weaken. This was no critter. The giant roach had been big, had been gross, but it hadn't been particularly harmful. This thing? This could tear her in half, eat her legs, and make her watch.
Hopefully Nora wouldn't think too badly of the fact her first shot went a little wide.

When the insanity creature appeared, it buffeted out something that took the wind out of Hanna. She was happy when Nora made the first move, then Cami the second -- leaving the Death Hunter standing back and waiting. "Oh, my turn," she murmured once. Hanna took a running start, swiping The Lady in an upwards arc across the monster's side. It would have been a gash, if it could be gashed. She dove out of the way, scrambling back to regroup. "This thing packs a nasty punch," she said, glancing to the other two girls. They were just three trainees, after all. The insanity creature ran toward the pack, swiping a claw out towards the girls. "Oh, you know, I like getting them while they're young and innocent," Nora replied with a wink of her own. "Boys will stammer, girls will blush, I can't help myself. Hell, your father in particular was an exotic one~"
Beatrix was going along with all of this quite happily--to the point of distraction. As the black dog made multiple comments about how clearly all the pretty ones and Evan should just have a nice big group outing, Nora concentration was taxed between remembering how to swing properly and shushing her partner. Her attack went wide as well, so she had no room to judge.
She winced as the the mob struck her with a wing, jabbing at it uselessly to get its attention away from the girls. "No kidding, yeah . . . We're good, though. We did survive being swallowed and then being bombed, ladies," she reminded them. "A little thing like this? Not anything at all!"

That was true. Very, very true. They'd survived far worse than being raked at with claws that made her want to cry out as they tried to tear through her coat and nearly succeeded. Already she could tell they might be in serious trouble. Her energy was flagging faster than before, she was starting to ache, and her shots weren't doing a whole lot of damage. What did you do when the beasty you were supposed to dispatch was dispatching you? Still, she tried to keep going. Friendly banter was over now as she planted her feet and tried to think of the best course of attack. Strategy wasn't something that Cami had focused on yet but her partner, blessed Kidana, was helpful. "I'm going to try to get behind it so I have a clearer shot without hitting you guys. Try to keep him off me?" HP: 30/40 DMG: 1 CHG: 1/3 MOB HP: 35/40

Hanna wanted to share Nora's confidence, but she took a wing to the face and went flying backward. Her weapon clattered out of her hands and she scrambled to get it, sucking in a breath. "No big deal, right-o," she said, chuckling with an edge of fear. "He seems sort of big and sort of deal-y. For my rusty a** at least." When Cami took charge, Hanna nodded again, raising Adelphe above her head. She ran for the side of the beast... but was again buffeted away by a wing, her attack hitting nothing but air. They were going to need a bigger boat. HP: 30/40 Damage: nada Charge: 1/3 Mob: 35

"That's what this is for: practice!" Nora explained cheerily as a bead of sweat went down her neck. The girls both needed a bolster and a good show of it at any rate--maybe even Nora herself a little--and at Cami's request she gave a quick nod.
"OY, BEASTIE!" she hollered, brandishing her weapon. "ANYONE EVER TELL YOU YOU'VE GOT A FACE FOR RADIO?"
. . . Really, Norrie?
Look, good battle banter was not part of my resume.
It seemed to do the trick at any rate. The overgrown insect hissed and lunged at her, and while the collide was painful it was hopefully enough to get both Cami and Hanna some time to breathe. With a small cry she crashed her hammer against its carapace, goading it to keep focusing on her.

Cannot laugh. Cannot laugh. Kidana was reinforcing that despite the fact Nora's roar was absolutely hilarious this was not the time to be losing her concentration. Hanna had taken a solid hit, Nora one as well, while Cami tried to get behind the beast. She took the tail solidly to the chest before finding the perfect place to shoot from. It was a nice outcropping of rock that was going to get her some pretty high aggression if the creature saw her. Maybe it would allow the other two to get hits in from the back if she were to really distract it. "C'mon Ki. We can do this. We've been training." Letting out a slow breath she loosed an arrow, aiming straight for the back of the thing's head. It connected in a spray of carapace and goo that had her feeling only moderately guilty for the two women down within close range of the beast. It also immediately roared and whirled towards her. In her fantasies, Hanna was capable of the banter that Nora was having with the mob. She imagined herself flying through the air launching pithy insults and then decapitating three titans with one mighty swing. As she landed gently on her feet in the foreground, their heads would slide off with a wet squick in the background. Her reality was a hell of a lot different. Hanna was huffing and puffing, wincing as the beast roared in her direction. She felt something prickly across her skin, the sensation sharpening as her Fear shield was battered. I have you, Adelphe whispered in a voice more comforting than she had used in weeks. And then, with a glorious shot of an arrow, Cami made a killer shot. "Damn straight, Cam!" Hanna shouted, overwhelmed with a swell of joy. When the beast turned to charge her friend, Hanna let out a hiss and brought The Lady up in a high arc across its tail, leaving a decent gash and at least slowing it down as it continued to pursue Cami. So Hanna gave chase. HP: 25/40 DMG: 4 CHG: 2/3 MOB HP: 17/40
