While the seas around this peculiar land were not his home, Irridian had to admit that he was fast becoming fond of this place. There were rough and roaring seas out further, if one wished for such things... (And if you were up for the challenge, they could be quite fun to surf.) A graveyard of ships with peculiar trinkets (because who didn't love a shiny puzzle hidden at the ocean depths?)... Lazy seaweed towers, sunny shallows, welcoming white sandbars and colorful coral beds. There were bright fish to chase and dolphins to race... And no shortage of interesting company.

Company that was usually finned and scaled, but if one dared approach the land, they were so much more than that. Wings and horns and jewel-bright pelts... Scales, manes, fins, spines... As varied as the ocean's shades, the coral's colors, the fish's shapes... All in the ocean he had ever known, and a world much more besides. Tall and short and strong and delicate, dainty and devious and more.

Yes, he could be happy here... Swimming these waters and slowly meeting these natives... This would be a good place to stay.

After a lazy fluttering spiral dive and gleeful twists through the ocean depths, Irridian turned his nose upward and surged toward the surface. Though he didn't need to break the surface of the water to breathe, he launched himself above the waves with joyous abandon. Drawing a deep breath to laugh at the height of the arc, he plunged into the water once more, a graceful curve of moon white amongst the navy depths. It was only moments until moonrise now, and he looked forward to the illuminative white path the full orb would cut across the otherwise night-dark surface.

Surfacing with a lazy exhale, he watched the mist of his breath settle back to the ocean. Fins flaring, the stallion shook the curls of his mane back out of his eyes, admiring the strange stars above. For the moment there were very few clouds, distant puffs of white reminiscent of the hue of his mane and scales. Nothing to block the peculiar patterns of light against dark that he sought. The constellations were different here than his homeland, though he recognized some of them in the distance. Still, he hadn't found anyone who could teach him the names of the ones he could see overhead, so he gave the stars a respectful nod and turned himself toward land.

It hadn't been something he'd planned... And so he rather doubted Sitara would be easily found... Which was sad, as he deeply enjoyed passing time with the soft-winged mare. he'd dubbed "StarChild". Still, he couldn't see her coincidentally wandering about by the shore this evening. She was likely with family or other friends. Still, that wouldn't stop him from visiting the cove and the beach... Perhaps he could make a new friend.

"If you are so inclined, oh benevolent stars... I would be most pleased to make a new friend."

Heavens know why I'm here... But they certainly don't seem inclined to tell me. She mused to herself as she lingered on the seabed and then finally forced herself up toward the surface. With a few powerful flicks of her tail and kicks of her feet she was there, already able to feel the warmth of the sun above. A careful break of water and a flare of head fins, the mare peered for a moment and then dove out of sight again. There had been no shout of surprise, and no sign of strange land-locked life on the beach waiting to gawk at her. So... Reasonably safe then?

Surfacing yet again, Sahaena allowed her head and about half of her lovely neck to surface and narrowed her golden eyes at the beach that lay before her. She was not precisely sure why fate and fancy had brought her to this part of the land... But then again, she had seen no reason to refuse it. After all, with two such powerful forces working to guide her actions... She could guess no good would come from refusing such guidance.

But she had long called this place home, or at least the waters surrounding it. Though the land may not be her chosen resting place, she was passingly fond of it. And throughout her life she had explored more than just the edges of this place, allowing herself to dance foolish shapes across white or golden beaches... Grinning as the waves rushed to erase the evidence of her passage, she had sprinted off again.. A wild osprey on the wind, a young dolphin on the waves. She was wild and free, and without care.

Now she was grown, was a little wiser and certainly older. She had seen more, felt sorrow to counter the joy... She had learned and was still learning. Just recently she had followed the tapering of the wide sea to a quiet cove, the bottom of which was unexpectedly blanketed in smooth stones. With no one about to view her antics, Sahaena had let her guard drop and rubbled and rolled along the rocky bed. She had reveled in the massage and laughed as she surface, pacing through the shallows and even allowing herself a walk on the rocky beach. When she had spent enough time admiring the looming cliffs and pondered the salt-grass field, she had retreated back into the water again.

It had been a gleeful little adventure, and she rather hoped this would turn out the same. With a sigh the mare began a lazy pace forward, her dainty legs making cantering strides to pull her through the water, her powerful tail propelling her forward. If she didn't like this place she could go, could throw herself into the sea with joyous abandon. She could escape anything that sought her harm.

Except fate... She allowed with a bitter smile. No good trying to escape that.

Sea and stars knew she had tried.

It was probably a somewhat foolish thing, to be be circling and bobbing in the waves and wishing on stars. Still, the moon-washed stallion smiled at the glittering network of stars, picking out images written in the pattern of the cosmos. They were lovely to him, beacons in a sea he could never quite reach. But each night it reflected on the ocean, and he delighted in surfacing, spy-hopping and breaching amongst the reflection of light and dark. Again and again he surfaced and dove, leaping in and out of the reflected constellations.

'Wish I may, wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight...' He hummed to himself, with a soft laugh.

After another deep dive and a lingering glance to the seabed where he scraped his hooves in the shell-strewn sand just to see if he could stir up anything interesting, Irridian pointed his nose skyward once more. While there were shells aplenty, nothing particularly interesting stood out to him. He had already gathered a small collection to bring to Sitara at one of their future meetings, but today it didn't seem that he would add to it. Surfacing with nary a ripple, the stallion gave a misty-exhale that whispered like a dolphin's breath and turned his eyes toward the shore once again.

With a lazy twist of his tail he skirted a rocky breaker and then struck shoreward. He wasn't too eager to throw himself on the beach, but it would be nice to skirt the edges and see what remained to be seen. The last time he'd drifted close to land, he'd made a new friend. There was no sign of the starry-sky colored mare, but that didn't mean much. She could drop out of the clouds in an instant, though he didn't truly expect that she would. If memory served she was spending the evening with her family, but that didn't mean that someone else wouldn't be wandering the beach or the rocky point that formed one curve of the cove.

As he swam closer he cast a glance at the high cliffs that staggered seaward on the right side of the cove. There was no one present as far as he could see, no dark shape silhouetted against the moon or lighter shadow dancing along the dark sand that the cliffs melted to. A shame, but not unexpected. Most had a tendency to sleep at night, yes? Still, perhaps there was an odd soul come to watch the moon set on the sea. Perhaps that same strange soul wouldn't mind making a new friend...

Drawing a deep breath the stallion dove, swimming through an underwater arch and surging sky-ward once more. He had decided that first he would check the small grass-covered point that had become his and Sitara's meeting-point. If indeed it appeared she was away with her family, he'd take a chance at getting close to the beach and look for a sign of recent hoof-prints that might indicate a nearby companion. Barring that, he'd head seaward again and hope for a companion or that sleep would find him after his travels.

After a day of exploring and wandering, both on land and in the cove itself, Sahaena allowed the incoming tide to nudge her gently back toward the land. As she drifted, she allowed her chin to tilt, casting golden eyes up at the sea-dark heavens. Far above there glimmered scattered diamonds of light, distantly glimmering stars that did not dare shed their precious glimmering on the ocean itself… But they winked at her cheerfully as she looked, somehow conveying joyous soft laughter.

‘What a lovely, strange land this is.’ She mused, both surprised and amused and the fanciful thought. ‘I fear it has already gone to my head already. And if it has yet not, I imagine it will not be long. But then, perhaps that in itself will be a kind of adventure. I cannot say I do not look forward to it, for surely it will be interesting if nothing else…’

The Kelpi mare let her mind drift with the tide for several more moments, keeping an eye out for dangers as well as anything that may have been of interest. As the waters became ever more shallow, she stretched her legs with careful swimming strides that changed slowly to bounding strikes against the seabed. She bobbed and sank with each powerful stride, tail acting as a gentle rudder as she slowly approached the beach. As she continued on, her jumping strides melted to slow pacing motions to adapt to the fact that the water was no longer high enough to bear her up.

She stretched her head high above the surface, considering the high cliffs and the rocks that gave away to white sand. It was all lovely, welcoming and gentle and mysterious, even with the night shadowing the bright emerald grass. Though the splendor of the salt grass was somewhat diminished in the dark, she was rather taken without the moon bleached the sand in her image, and the water reflected a path of moonlight that seemed to end upon her.

"Fanciful." She scolded herself with a flare of fins and a flick of her tail. Now that she'd reached the true shallows, she moved at a splashing trot and slowed to a walk once sand sighed under her hooves. Turning back to consider the ocean over her shoulder, she noted a flicker of movement in the path of moonlight.

It made her spin in a tight rear, her ears flipped forward in surprise and alarm. The next movement seemed to telegraph moon-white scales and a graceful flaring fin... Not a monster.

At least, it didn't seem like one? But she didn’t want to get closer and be mistaken either…

'I wonder... I wonder if that is a Mer? I have not seen any up close, ever.. It would be intriguing to know if they call these waters home.'

“It is too bad that Sitara is busy with her family this evening.” Irridian murmured to himself, blowing a stream of bubbles that he idly snapped at. “She’s missing a heck of a time, telling moonlit stories and watching the waves roll in. Everyone ocean-born knows the nights of the full moon are best for that sort of thing. But mayhap there are those born on land that don’t know? So maybe you can mention it, and the next time she will be free for such a conversation. Maybe her brother or other friends will come along, and you’ll meet more of these interesting land-walkers.”

Swimming slowly toward the surface, he hummed to himself and smiled at the moon. “I do rather like an audience, for a scary story or three…”
*
There was probably a rule, somewhere made up by someone, that dictated one not let their mind wander when there is a chance it could get them eaten… Or nibbled, bitten, kicked or mildly startled? There should be some sort of preservation instinct, but if he had ever had it, Irridian was having trouble summoning it now. Maybe it was just the excitement and possibility of being in a new place, of swimming new waters and exploring new coastlines. Because there was excitement, bubbling hot and bright in his heart, warm like shallows under high sun or a hot sandbar at low tide. It danced and waved in his stomach like a kelp forest, becomingly mysterious and terrifying all at once.

‘What are you even doing here, Irridian?’ A little voice in the back of his mind muttered, and for the life of him he wasn’t sure. Where had his three brothers bolted, upon deciding to settle in this place? Why wasn’t he with them? ‘What do you hope to find, standing there facing the sea?’
‘It may be more fun and more excitement to explore on your own… But it can be a little unnerving too.’
*
Suddenly dragged out of his wandering thoughts and realizing he’d been bobbing steadily landward –pushed by the incoming tide- Irridian returned to his senses with a bit of a flail of forelegs and a flip of his tail. He laughed at himself the next moment, shaking the soft curls of his mane out of his face.
“That was fair foolish of you, and you should know it.” He scolded out loud. “Be thankful there are no great beasts haunting the beach, waiting to eat idiots like you.”

He surfaced again a moment later, and winced when he realized there was an actual shadow on the beach. A spear of moonlight spread from the ocean to touch the beach, and whether by accident or design the mare stood in that pool of light. He could see the fins and spines that marked her kind as a distant cousin to his own, and immediately felt bad at the wide golden eyes he could see glimmering even from where he swam.

“I am sorry, if… If I disturbed you.” He called softly, pitching the tone to soothing and light. “I’m afraid I got distracted and lost in my thoughts.”

'I wonder... I wonder if that is a Mer?’

Her fanciful thoughts would have made many others from her home roll their eyes. Shake their heads at her foolishness. But she had already done the impossible, had left the group. Had swam further away than any of the others dared, far beyond their schooling waters. She would not turn back, had no family to return to. She would make her own way in her own land –or sea, or both- with her own skills.

But she longed to meet a true child of the ocean, and child of the earth, a child of the air. How soothing it must be to belong to one place. She was of two lands, and felt ill-suited to both. She was not as graceful in the water or on the land as those who were born to it. How did one find out where they belonged when the answer seemed to be both and neither? So she came to this place to start anew, to make herself at home in both… In a way.

‘Right now all I feel is lost.’ She admitted, her golden eyes searching for the white creature in the dark waves. ‘If it was a Mer, maybe they’d have advice for me? But how should I know if it was? I have not seen any up close, ever... It would be intriguing to know if they call these waters home.'

Sahaena wanted more than anything to linger, wanted to stand on the sand and meet the stranger who leapt and danced in the waves. Even if they weren’t one of the elusive, nearly mythical Mers that she had heard stories of as a foal. There was something intriguing about the stranger. The movements made her think of a graceful sea creature, like a white dolphin? But the movement was wrong somehow. So maybe, just maybe it was a Mer, as she had guessed… As she had hoped?

But suddenly there was something surfacing even closer to the beach, and she couldn’t make herself stand there and wait to see if it meant her good or ill. Without reason or thought, Sahaena threw herself into a frenzied gallop and sped toward a cluster of rocks higher up on the beach. She ran, and she hid, and she called herself a fool every way that she could.

But she did not go back to the beach, not for a long, long time.

***

‘Some SeaWitch you are.’ She scolded herself when she finally deemed it safe to leave her hiding place. The waves had made quick work of much of her trail, leaving only the scattered indents of her hooves through the soft, dry sand as evidence of passage. It was not nearly so obvious as hoof prints in wet sand, and clearly no one was about to follow her trail.

Which meant there was every chance the one in the sea had been a Mer, and unable to follow her in her cowardice. "Well, now I really feel foolish."
PostPosted: Mon Feb 23, 2015 7:01 pm

There was no one on the beach, no stranger that he could pass time with. No one to share stories and exchange greetings and news... Literally talking to shadows. You clearly need more sleep.

The Mer shook his head and dove, swimming into the depths to catch some sleep.

***

Well another quiet night, hopefully nothing bad has happened to Sitara.’ Irri sighed to himself, crunching his way through a spiral of kelp he had plucked as his choice breakfast today. He had rather hoped ‘Tara would turn up, perhaps with some of those interesting fruits she said so many of the landwalkers enjoyed… Apples were a new favorite, he couldn’t wait for his next one.

But seeing his friend was much more important than the gift of fruit she brought, even if it was such a delicious fruit. Still, no Tara that evening, which surely did mean she was spending time with her family. Or maybe a friend? She had mentioned several mares that were as close as kin to her. He would remember to ask about them next time, what they were up to and if they were well. It would ensure she didn’t get him started on coral beds and let him talk the day away, again.

A plan for next time.’ He grinned, and resumed chewing.

***

With his meal and his thoughts of his land-born friend past for the moment, Irridian gave himself over to chasing a school of colorful fish. Sunrise had long ago come, and the day overhead was still bright and clear. Irridian amused himself by frolicking in the shallows, following the incoming tide toward the beach. Perhaps at this hour there would be a wandering ground-born Soquili... A stranger with beautiful wings or a glowing horn or a strange tale to trade with a pleasant son of the sea. Irridian was fond of the idea of adding to his list of friends, so he approached the land with little hesitation.

'Your brothers would disapprove.' Pointed out a voice in the back of his mind. Even as he surfaced and shook his head, the words seemed to crash around in his mind. 'You know better, or you should. What if something bad happens?'

But Irri couldn't stand to live his life hesitating at each moment. Didn't want a life ruled by the fear of 'something bad' happening. Such a tentative and nebulous threat would prevent a great many adventures, and cut him off from innumerable experiences and friendships. And out of what? Fear. Hesitation. Refusing to do things on the grounds that 'something bad might happen' was a sure fire way to ensure that nothing good would ever have a chance to occur. Where was the fun in that? Nowhere he could see. No, Irri refused to let that be his life.

There was no use dwelling over the suspicious absence of his siblings either, though their lack was certainly felt by him. Still, with as close as the four had been through the early stages of their lives, Irridian believed wholeheartedly he would know if some danger had befallen his brothers. He would know, somehow, they all would. And if something had happened, if something was wrong, fate would be kind and draw them back together. And together they could protect each other.

Until then, he would explore this place and hopefully make another friend. The presence of the boldly colored mare on the beach quickly captured his attention, so he swam closer with a tentative sort of curiosity. Perhaps she would remain still long enough to see he meant no harm...

"Hello?"

Sahaena's head flew up at the soft greeting, her eyes eagerly searching the waves. It was a good voice, a kind, soft thing that sort of reminded her of the waves as they sighed on the sand... Of the stream of bubbles she blew when she swam happily with the dolphins. It was very likely the same voice that tried to speak to her previously, when she lost all sense at the mysterious shape and fled to hiding.

In her defense, she had met some rather unpleasant creatures... But part of it was simply because she knew no one in this land. And hiding was better than hurting, even if she did feel awfully silly about the whole thing. There was no time like the presence to correct her error, so she straightened herself and strode into the waves so she could better speak to the white stallion.

"Hello." She returned with a faint smile and a nod of her head. "I believe that we very nearly met the other night... I must apologize for my abrupt departure. I cannot even think of a thing to say to defend myself, I was overcome by momentary foolishness and fear... Please forgive me for such a poor first impression."
PostPosted: Mon Mar 16, 2015 6:08 pm

Irridian was pleased to see that when the Kelpi mare noticed his presence, she seemed pleased rather than panicked. As she paced forward into the surf to greet him, he swam further forward, still comfortable in the current sea depths but making it easier to talk without having to shout. The fact that there was a sea-shelf here, rather than just a gentle slope to the beach, meant he had plenty of deep-water to dive to when the tides shifted. They stopped at an amiable distance from each other, the mare up to her chest in the water and he craning his head and neck above the surf.

"No offense taken, trust me." He offered with a wide grin and a playful splash. "It is a pleasure to meet you at last, in any case. I am Irridian, and it is nice to meet another Ocean Child on the shores of this strange land. I trust you have not been in this place long? I would like to think we would have crossed paths before now."

He winced, immediately thinking of their previous encounter when he had scared her by being too careless with his approach. That wasn't exactly what he had wanted to remind her of, and he let her see the reluctant amusement sweep over his face before he gave a self-deprecating laugh.

"Listen to me? Putting my tail in my mouth already. I certainly didn't mean to allude to... Well, that is to say, all is forgiven if you will please forgive me!"

For reasons unknown (even to herself), Sahaena felt more confident meeting this stranger with her feet on something resembling solid ground. As such she waded out until the water reached high up on her chest, but kept her hooves touching the ocean floor. With the lapping waves she gave small hops to avoid the worst of the push, bobbing and then touching back down as each wave passed. Still, the Mer-stallion seemed fairly happy with their place, and she smiled as he swam up to speak with her.

"I appreciate it." She offered with a smile and a laugh when he splashed her direction as another incoming wave swept around her.

Once again she lifted off with her front hooves, letting the wave bear her up and then let her go as it continued beachward. Planting her hooves on the ocean floor once again, she shook her head and flared her fins at him in a playful display. "I am Sahaena, and the pleasure is mine, Irridian. I will say that I do agree it is a pleasant and welcome surprise to meet another of the Sea. I have not met many of your kind, and certainly none here... So this is most fortunate for us both."

She glanced toward the beach, and then back to the Mer. "I have been around this land, visiting several of the different beaches and coasts. In this specific area I have not lingered long, and it has been only a few moons since I have been in this place overall. How long have you been here?"

His careless reference to their previous encounter made her laugh more than anything. "No, not at all. I am sure I understand what you meant. And yes, I think that is the most agreeable solution. All is forgiven and forgotten, and we will consider this our true meeting."
PostPosted: Mon Mar 16, 2015 6:43 pm

Irridian grinned to himself and indulged in a few darting passes along the edge of the shelf, delighting in the tide and how it flowed over his fins and played with his mane. He surfaced a moment later, once his new companion had settled herself near enough to talk without trouble.

He chuckled when she flared her fins at him, grinning widely. "Well it is lovely indeed to meet you then, Sahaena."

He followed her look back toward the beach, making sure there was no one headed their way or waiting for her. Since he didn't know if she had friends about, he certainly wanted to be sure he wasn't inconveniencing them if they happened to appear. "I cannot say I have met many Kelpi either, and certainly none in this place. I think that we may be rather few here, over all. Though I've met a few wandering Mers and I know there is a Pirate band here, I have not seen others."

He wasn't sure if the Pirate band were peaceful or if they were even moderately friendly, but he wasn't interested in seeking them out without more information. Since Sahaena didn't know them, perhaps he would approach others to see what news there was to be had. But that was a task for another time.

"So then, you have been here some time less than I. I have spent several moons time swimming along a few of the beaches in the area. I have even met a few groundwalkers -mostly with wings- and now consider them to be friends. Still, it does not sound as if we've had much luck in finding those like us." He gave a soft laugh. "Well then, I am doubly glad we have had this second chance to make a first impression. And I am thrilled to meet you."

With amusement, Sahaena noted how his darting passes were not unlike the movements of the schools she so enjoyed watching, the light on their scales making them seem like a vast underwater rainbow. Perhaps Mers swam in similar patterns? The mental image was dazzling, and she longed to ask.. But it seemed silly and a bit intrusive to do so.

His smile and greeting made her incline her head, glad her scales were already crimson so she couldn't embarrass herself further by blushing. It was a little statement, but a kind one. "If there are so few of both our kinds here that we have not yet had the fortune of meeting them, I consider myself even more fortunate to have met you... And I do hope that we may become friends, so we at least will have someone to share news and stories with."

She blinked in surprise at the news of the Pirate band, for she had not yet come across them. Perhaps they claimed beaches other than those she wandered, or lurked in an as-yet unseen cove. Either way, she was glad of the warning, and rather hoped she could continue to avoid them, for they could be of the dangerous sort.

"Pirates sound both thrilling and somewhat scary. I think I shall keep my distance." She observed softly. "If you have news of them, or gain it, I would hear it. I do not wish any trouble here, it is comfortable here... Even though I have not been here long... I think, I would like to call it my home."

Her ears swiveled at the news he was friends with groundwalkers -and those who had wings, no less!-, something like curiosity and longing rising in her chest. Maybe she could meet them, one day. If they had any interest in a daughter of the sea.

"Yes, it is most fortunate for us both."
PostPosted: Mon Apr 06, 2015 3:15 pm

Though he could linger with his head and even the majority of his front quarters out of the water, it made Irridian a little nervous to do so. As such, he indulged in frequent dives and darts, swimming a spiral along the inside of an incoming wave. Surfacing as it passed he watched Sahaena rise and ride it before regaining her feet, hooves inching toward the edge of the shelf. They could easily have this conversation above or below water, which was certainly different from his encounters with his other friends. At least here was someone who would understand bubble signals.

That could be its own kind of fun, somewhere down the way. He'd have to remember to mention it later.

"I confess, I wonder if it is just because our kinds are newly come to this lands." He admitted over the sigh-shush of waves and tide. "I have heard of a great many types in this land. Groundwalkers in all colors and temperments, and those with birdlike wings, those with batlike wings, good spirits called Angeni, bad spirits like Skinwalkers. There are several varieties of minis, and one type that call themselves Flutters, they can be normal-sized or the size of a small bird. It is all very unique and interesting. I hear there are swampy territories inland, where some that could be kin to you or I do dwell, but I have not met them. As you can imagine, I would have to swim there and I do not know the way.

He flipped his tail and playfully splashed at her, giving a faint shrug. "The flutters though, their wings are all shapes and colors and patterns. They seem to be more varied than many of the others. I cannot say for sure, I have seen little, but what I do know is most wondrous."

Maybe, eventually, they would talk about if they both watched strangers on the coast, safe in the seas embrace. He imagined that kelpi might, that they would bob and float out at sea and watch what strange and marvelous strangers trekked on the sand. It was probably just the same as those on land, coming to see the ocean, wondering about her children. He hadn't had much chance to talk to anyone here about it though, his brothers had scattered and his own encounters few in the ocean realm.

"I am sure they are a bit of both." He answered with soft amusement. "The mer-fillies I met seemed to rather look up to them, but I have no experience myself. If I am right, I am rather certain one of my brothers went off to join their band. But such a thing is not where my heart lies. Still, should I come across them I hope they will be sociable, or at least not take me captive. Regardless, I understand your hesitation. And I do agree, this place is, welcoming in a way. I too think it shall be my home. And I would dearly like to call you my friend, if you would allow me, Sahaena."

"You are most graceful amongst the waves, you know... Better than any others I have seen." Sahaena watched the darting movement with a faint smile, pawing playfully at an incoming wave and letting the spray splash up her chest and neck. The water was refreshing and welcome, and she flared her fins in pleasure, relaxing into the presence of her new associate. Perhaps, by the end of the day, she would have a new friend... And a water-child, at that.

"I confess I have not had much chance to meet those that inhabit this land. Perhaps I will take the opportunity presented by such a variety of natives, and attempt to meet one or two of them." She tilted her head, thoughtfully. "They do sound fascinating, in all their variety. I should like the chance to meet some of them, and to call them friends would be most welcome, don't you think?"

She gave a delighted laugh at the splash, pawing a retaliatory wave in his direction. "I will make you a deal, should I meet one of your flutters, I will bring them to the ocean to visit you. Does that sound fair enough?"

Still smiling, Sahaena filed away what little information she was able to glean on the Pirate band. For the time being, it was still her opinion that it was best to avoid them. "I would very much like to be your friend, Irridian, and for you to be mine. So you may say we are in agreement, my friend."
