Remarque was out again, for the second time tonight. Nightmares were not something he was accustomed to having, and it bothered him that every time he lay down at night, every time he closed his eyes, something was there to jolt him back awake.
He tried to reason with himself, for a long time, as to what the source could be. Guilt? Was he feeling guilty? Was he doing something wrong? Too many sweets? Had he just watched too many horror movies this month?
Things just weren't adding up. Images of death and destruction…
They unnerved him. Didn't scare him—he would never admit to that—but it left his skin crawling, and made him feel like there was something writhing, twisting in the pit of his stomach. He couldn't sleep, and he couldn't just stay at home and let it eat away at him.
So, he'd powered up and set out for the park. He wasn't sure why it was his go-to; it probably had something to do with all the time he'd spent there as a basic senshi. It was a comfort zone, though it wasn't his ideal hunting ground. Not anymore, at least. These days he found himself far more interested in the dark alleyways the slums of Destiny City provided, but he wasn't out for energy or fights.
He was just out.
He might have stayed to himself, had he not become keenly aware of a Negaverse aura in the distance.
The Negaverse.
All the agents he knew were Generals. He couldn’t help but be at least slightly interested—and, at least, it was something to take his mind off of things.
Remarque didn't need mirrors to cross the distance between him and the energy signature; it wasn't so far away that he even had a difficult time keeping up. It wasn't long before he saw the silhouette of the Captain and, hands on his hips, he greeted the male with what little enthusiasm he could muster for any working with the Negaverse. "The Negaverse is letting you wander around on your own these days? Isn't it a bit dangerous, considering how much trouble the Negaverse has gotten into recently?"

Chalcanthite dusted himself off slightly after he had finished his quota for the evening when he noticed an energy signature nearing him. He could tell it was someone above him but he was unsure of who, it was only when he turned to face a sassy looking male. "It is not as if I am unable to fend for myself or need supervision, unlike others I have run into as of late. As for level of danger, I am as capable as I need to be for what I am doing. What brings our paths together this evening if you do not mind me asking?" His voice was as cool as ice but had none of the sharpness, yet. It had been one of the quieter nights this week, it was just his luck that someone would cross his path eventually after so much time being left to his own devices and methods. Keeping his guard up, he took a step closer to get a better look at the man who stood before him. The man seemed to be one of the Dark Mirror Senshi but other than that Chalcanthite was at a loss as to what their power level was besides being above him. Kyuseisha no Hikari Gosh I'm so sorry for how long this tag took! xD

"I suppose it must be destiny," Remarque replied, perhaps with the slightest bit of sarcasm. Fate, Destiny...they were not particularly things he believed in. Perhaps it was coincidence only that drew them together, or just blind curiosity. Remarque was not certain there was anything particularly meaningful that had drawn them together that night, but he was going to make the best of it regardless.
"I was out, you were out. Right place, right time. I don't know that there's more to it than that. It isn't as though I'm out hunting for litle Negas," he mused, voice almost mimicing a purr. He wasn't trying to intimidate the male, but it was nice to remind himself that he could, if he so chose.
...If he wanted to risk the Negaverse's wrath.
"No," Remarque continued, "I was out and thought I would see what the Negaverse was up to. I haven't seen many Lieutenants about in a while, so I'd wondered if you might have been a new face."
There was only the hint of smugness in his voice when he extended his hand in greeting. "I was right."
He stood, tall and proud, and looked at the male in front of him with the focus of a predator with his prey; he was without hostility, but his even when tempered with friendliness, he had a fierceness that did not wither. "Remarque," he introudced. "And what are they calling you?"

Chalcanthite watched carefully, not sure what to expect from the man who stood before him. Destiny as definitely could be a b***h depending on what happened next. The purring way he spoke of hunting the Negaverse both enraged Chalcanthie slightly and sent a chill through him. Keeping a calm face was his main focus right now as he planned an escape if needed in the back of his mind. "I am not as new as others, nor as inexperienced in formalities or conversation." Chalcanthite shook the man's hand firmly and just long enough as to not let his nerves get the better of him. With his usual smile now showing through the ice in his eyes, he felt as if he was a mouse smiling up at a cat that was deciding whether or not he would make a good meal. "My name is Chalcanthite, it is a pleasure to meet you in a peaceful manner. Not everyone I have run into, from any side, have been as civil as I would hope."

"Is that so?" he prompted. "You must be an unlucky one." He lingered for a moment, and then withdrew his hand and planted each on his hips as he glanced away, surveying the area around them. "Though, I suppose I have noticed a trend in these past few months. Who have you met then, that has given you trouble? Perhaps I will have words with them."
He moved again, apparently in a state between calm and restless, and cracked his knuckles. A fight would have been nice, but this lieutenant was not a suitable target. Remarque had a vastly unfair advantage in rank and there was no point in threatening him. At least, not while he was using his manners and running his mouth. "No Dark Mirrors, I would hope. The senshi, though. And the Knights?" he waved his hand dismissively. "Their mind is polluted with space dust and arrogance. Some of them can be saved, but most of them exist to give you a hard time."
