Known Powers/Abilities: Nhim is a relatively typical dark elf, as far as natural abilities goe. Nhim also has above human physical capabilities in speed, strength, reflexes, and agility. As a young girl, Nhim’s left eye was replaced with that of a True Faerie, granting her true sight in one eye, which allows her to perceive the truth of things, such as illusions, shape-changers, and invisible beings.
Nhimic is also a known expert at aerobatics and aerial combat with her jetpack, as well as a formidable combatant on the ground. She is something of an expert in airship infiltration, as well as having extensive knowledge of botany, herbs, and spices, extending to a deep knowledge of plant life everywhere. She went to school and studying for years to master the medical arts and active medical assistance.
Nhim's latent magical talent shines through with her artificing skills. She magically imbues objects with special properties, and utilizes the skill to power her machines and inventions.
Limitations: Nhim’s “faerie” eye is a disorienting sense, despite its use, as it will occasionaly make it difficult to focus with two different sets of perception. Another aspect of her faerie heritage is an allergy to iron. While not as severe as her ancestors’ weakness to it, too much direct contact, or even consumption of it, can be fatal. She is also incapable of telling known lies (although she can omit facts or bend the truth as much as she pleases) and is magically bound to keep any deals she makes.
Brief History: Nhimic grew up, as most dark elves, among the Kuro Gang, although she was raised in Aekea, making only the ocassional trip to Durem when her guardians were called in for specific Kuro-related jobs. Nhim spent more time building and inventing. Never socially inclined, she spent more time building companions than making actual friends. The majority of her interactions with other living things involved the Kuro Gang and the ocassional insect to crawl through her bedroom window.
Come her teen years, Nhim grew more and more curious about life beyond the Durem underground and Aekea. She visited Isle de Gambino for the first time where she took to learning about plants. She was fascinated with the concept of growing them, even in the steel jungle of Aekea. Her introduction to airships and Casimir trees only spurred her sense of wonder about plant life.
Nhim signed on with a courier airship crew to better understand the nature of airship travel and the effect on it in relation to Casimir trees. She spent less and less time dealing with the Kuro Gang, although she was obligated to complete the ocassional job for them. During one of her courier jobs, she encountered a small airship being attacked by a pirate crew. Nhim intervened, injuring an eye but fending off the pirates successfully. The small airship, captained by a strange, old man who called himself Wick, thanked her and "rewarded" her with "truth". He cut out one of his own eyes and, despite her protests, shoved it into Nhim's injured ones.
Nhim awoke sometime later, unaware she had even passed out, only to find her courier ship in disrepair, her possessions stolen, and her new "gift" disorienting her. Still, she found herself with a new resolve, energized by some unknown desire to...go. To go, and do, and live and give life. Nhim continued her studies on plant life and Casimir trees. She found a latent potency for magic and focused it on bringing life to her inventions, creating automatons to assist her in her research...and her jobs for Kuro Gang.
Notes: Nhim's affinity for magic and their origin to her faerie heritage are still unknown to her. She simply assumes everyone has a potential to use magic and her's is just a bit stronger.
