Orias | The sun had set some time ago, the moon taking its place as the dominant celestial body, casting its pale light down upon the world, illuminating it just enough so that it was a bit easier to see. Not that it mattered to this male. His eyes were fixed up at the sky glazed over with wonder. He always loved the night. The stars came out to play in the vast, black expanse above, twinkling in the dark, the eyes of the beings like himself their only witness. His paws absently toyed with some stone, knocking it back and forth between them. He was enraptured by the sky, in awe of the unknown region above. 'What's out there?' It was the question he asked himself night after night. How he dreamed he could rise above and explore that frontier. There was so much to know.Devika:: She sat perched upon a large tree branch, her winged fluttered lightly in the nights cool breeze, her orbs glowing softly as she sat in a trans like state, this time of night is when she generally worked the most, its why during the night her orbs glowed out so brightly, her mind clicking away as she worked. But her ears twitched at the sound of something...a stone possibly moving. Who wasnt slumbering, now trickled through her thoughts, changing her focus, she stood up on the branch she sat on. She wasnt a large goddess, much smaller than most would think for a diety and that was one of the reasons she stayed in the trees for the most part, so that she wouldnt be stepped on! With a flick of her tail, she dropped from the branch, hanging upside down from her tail she glanced around. "Who walks when many slumber?" She questioned outloud.Orias | "Huh?" Orias blinked, turning his in the direction of the sound, eyes squinting at the lights glimmering in a tree. He squinted, confused, that is, until his vision focused on a form, a dark pelted creature whom he could understand to which the lights clung. 'Another Ulaya, hm?' he thought. Why did she care if he was asleep, though? She was the odd one hanging by her tail, after all. He began ambling in her direction, lips twisted into a curious grin. "I could ask you the same thing," he replied, looking up at her. "And I could ask you what you're doin' hanging like that." He sat down, paws finding another stone to roll about as he spoke to her. "Your lights are very pretty though..." he began, his voice trialing off as his eyes fell to the rock under his paw before flicking back up to her. "Why do your stones glow?"Devika:: She laughed softly, " I never sleep, why sleep when the world is so exciting!" She grinned, but it was true, she never slept it just wasnt something she had ever done, for as long as she can remember her eyes never rested in slumber. "Hanging like this?" She used the strong muscles in her tail to make herself bounce. " I like to hang, it means less paw prints on my fur." She cooed, before she blinked at him in confusion. "My lights?" She had never really been around another while she worked her nightly duties and during the day no one noticed the faint glow as others day dreamed. "Stones??" She laughed once more, she loved being baffled by mortals, other gods thought they were so much better, smarter but she enjoyed learning things from them. Her glowing eyes danced with merriment. Orias | He nodded in understanding, even though the comment stunned him some. "I find it hard to sleep, too, and I almost never sleep at night. But everyone's gotta sleep sometime, right? Never never?" That was interesting. He thought all creatures needed to sleep or do something similar at some point, recover themselves and let their minds rest. She should be required to do the same. He bit his lip before squinting at the lights some more. It did not seem like she knew what he was talking about. "Those aren't stones? What are they, gems of some kind? And still, why do they glow?" He stared at them intently, almost forgetting about the pretty lady in front of him, the one most males would have been focused on, nor did he even imagine he was overwhelming her with his curiosity. He had heard rumors of some glowing stones, but he had never actually seen ones that shined with such light. It was as if she had decorated herself with stars.Devika:: "Never ever.." She crossed her heart and held up a paw as if she were making some sort of oath. She had seen other mortals do it before and had felt like trying it, she grinned. "Are you talking about my eyes?" She questioned, she had noticed the light change on her paws and it had clicked, had it? She wasnt always sure but that was the fun of it all really. She uncoiled her tail and dropped from the limb, she stuck her face close to his and watched it light up, her head tilted his way and that way as her wings fanned out behind her. "OOoh look at your fur.." She murmured softly. "Well isnt this interesting.." She all but danced where she stood. Orias | "Never never..." he mused, allowing the thought to sink in. She never slept. This interested him. "You can do that? Never sleep?" Suddenly she was very close. He blinking, straightening up, eyes gazing into hers. He actually had not noticed the glow of her eyes, being so fixated on the other glimmering gems. "I suppose... those, too." He managed to speak the words after the shock of her sudden approach wore off. "I've never seen someone's eyes glow before." He narrowed his eyes at her comment about his fur. "You're more interesting to look at than me, miss," he replied, eyes drifting from her iridescent eyes to the crown on her head, then to the mantle draped over her shoulders and her wings fluttering behind her. "Much more interesting."Devika:: Suddenly she put her paws on his shoulder, worked her crown under his bangs and watched the glow light up the sky on his fur, the white star like pattern over the changing colors, her eyes danced as she released a pent up breath against his face as she darted her face back and forth, watching the stars dance on his coat. Her brows were knitted tightly together as she bore the most serious of expressions, she was entraced, she almost didnt he his words but they tickled at her senses before she responded, eyes darking over all his features so close. "Yes, I can do that, but for you it would mean a much worse fate so sleep sweet." She churred with the sheer happiness from how his coat mingled with her eyes. "No restless one, far more interesting I see."Orias | He did not expect that. He blinked as she used his frame for support, wincing slightly when her crown tangled with his hair, pulling at his scalp as she moved it out of the way. His eyes remained fixed on hers as they scrutinized his face. "What do you mean by that? Why would it be a worse fate for me?" He did not understand, granted he was still unaware of the fact that she was more than a mortal. His eyes lit up, grinning. "If you like the sight of stars, just look up." He dared a slight nod of his head to indicate to the expanse above them. "It's a much better view." At least, he thought so. "I'm Ornias," he finally introduced, recalling his manners. Devika:: "Because not all walk the sleepless path, and for you an endless slumber would ensue.." She sometimes spoke in patchy lyrical sentences, it was better than when she flung riddles at you, which generally made no sense to anyone but herself. She pulled her head carefully away from his, she wasnt one to hurt another, even when taken with rage which was an extremely rare sight.
Her head leaned far back, exposing her throat as she grinned at the sight above. "Oooh.." She cooed before she dashed away from him, bouncing and gliding here and there until she sat in the middle of an open clearing, pairie dog style, to which she promptly opened her wings and fell onto her back. "They look so amazing out here!" She called to him with a laugh. Orias | While her first comment perplexed him, he did not have time to respond before she dashed out into the open, in awe of the stars above. He beamed, eyes shining as he trotted after her. He found a place on the grass, laying above her head, crossing his paws, eyes dazzled by the stars and nighttime clouds as they danced in the dark. "Don't they?" he agreed. He let out a light chuckle. "It kinda surprises me that you spend all your time awake, but you don't look up and admire the sky ever night," he began, casting his eyes down at her for a brief moment before gazing back up. "I know I do. After a few moments of staring, he lowered his head close to her's. "You know, you can connect the stars like dots to form pictures in the sky. Some of them have names, too." He waved to one with his paw. "See that one? Those stars kinda look like a bear, don't they? My mom called it the Big Bear."

Orias | He laid at the base of a tree, his back matching the bend of the tree's roots as they held him in a comfortable, open embrace. It was unusual for him to sleep the nights away, for he usually spent them gazing up at the stars. Usually, however, clouds did not stand between his eyes and the twinkling night sky, as they did tonight. He supposed even he had to sleep at some point, unlike that one female he met not too long ago, the one with glowing stones adorning her form. Devika, if his memory served him right. He dreamed about those stones of hers, just watching the light as the glistened and darkened. It was relaxing. He opened his eyes, corneas glazed over with that sleepy fog as he eased himself back into consciousness. What could possibly make stones shine like that? He never did get around to asking her, now that he thought about it. Lifting his head from his paws, he yawned, then rubbed his face with the back of a paw, forcing his grogginess into remission. The clouds were threatening to weep over the earth, and this tree was not going to suffice as shelter for the storm. 'Shame it does not have a hollow.' He rose to his feet, ambling into the glade, casting his gaze up at the sky. "What are you going to do?" he asked they sky, stumpy tail wagging.Devika:: Her nose twitched as the heavy scent of rain in the air, the air itself seemed grouchy. Her nose wrinkled as her orbs looked to the sky with a curious arch of her brow. A storm as summer was slowly coming to an end, she couldnt wait! She leaped from branch to branch as she then leaped down into the open pathway, she needed a better seat for the show that looked as if it was going to start at any moment. The dreams she was busy weaving would be threatened by the storm and those who now slumbered but she could weave her magic stronger while she enjoyed herself. It didn't always work, but it wasn't her job to make others slumber or to keep them slumbering, simply to help them dream.
Her long fluffy tail flicked out behind her as she pounced this way and that with soft laughter as she moved.Orias | His ears flicked once they picked up a familiar sound, a gentle, melodious sound of some gleeful girl. He turned his head in the direction of the laughter, quickly noticing the glinting of pale light in the shadows. He kept the moving form in his sight as he made his way towards her, the ends of his lips forming a pleasant smile on his face. 'Speak of the devil,' he thought, chuckling to himself. It certainly surprised him to see her out and about, just when he was thinking of her, too. Well, more specifically, he was thinking about those dazzling stones, but the female who bore them was just as interesting. She was whimsical, though he could pick up on a deeper meaning to her words no matter how light and carefree her tone. He recalled that she also told him he was interesting, a compliment he accepted. He was fond of the fact the 'galaxies in his fur' could mesmerize her as the night sky mesmerized him. And here she was again. What were the odds?
Orias eventually came within earshot of her. "Devika?" he called. "Is that you springing about?"Devika:: At the sound of another voice, a very familiar voice she froze in mid motion, on her back paws, front paws angled in the positions she was about to use them in, her tail snaked out beind her as her ears twitched and her head turned. A smile tugged at her muzzle as she grinned like she held some secret of the world, she didnt move a single muscle more than that as she eyed the familiar male. He was so very interesting and between him and what the sky promised, she all but buzzed with wonder.
"Well I was until someone caught my attention Mister Orias.." She teased with a laugh.Orias | His lips parted, twisting into a grin as he continued to close the distance between them. "I'll try not to distract you too much from your play time," he returned with a light laugh, happily playing along with her razzing. He finally stopped just couple feet away from her, looking down into her eyes which shined just like the gems she bore. He tilted his head to the side, heavy hair eagerly submitting to gravity's pull. What a curious thing, she was. "It's been some time since we met," he began, gesturing to the east with a nod of his head, "and some distance. What brings you out here?"Devika:: "Oh what a wicked thing to say!" She smirked. "Surely you could simply join me in my games..They are generally much more fun when you have a partner." She fell forward, her tail snapping out behind her before curling up her back, the tip resting on her head and tapping against her crown. "Mmm I travel many places, one cannot stay in one area to long without going mad. But the sky has and the air, it seems grotchy." She nipped at the air before her, her gaze then shifting over to him with her brows furrowed. "I see again you do not slumber... Naughty boy"Orias | "Can't argue with any of that." Games were more fun with a partner, but what exactly did she want to play? Cat and mouse perhaps? He eyed her a moment. She would win every time, so small and fast. She could outpace him without much effort, not to mention she could fly. His attention shifted back to the sky and the impending storm looming just over their heads. "Yeah, and hopefully we're safe and sound away from all of that before it starts." He looked back at her, smirking. "And maybe I'll sleep then. No rest for the wicked, darlin'," he winked. "After all, who'd pick sleep over the pretty lady who never sleeps, hm?"Devika:: She tilted her head to the side, "Arguing with me is futile.." She grinned as she turned herself towards him, lowering her front half and letting her rump wiggle behind her. "Oh but I want to see the show!" She exclaimed as she lifted her face towards the sky, her tail wiggling behind her just as she jumped towards him with a laugh. "Its going to be amaaaazzzziing!"Orias | He did not actually expect to be the mouse. He grunted as she slammed into him, and he carried their weight down into the grass. He controlled the fall, for the most part, managing to land on his side relatively gently with her on top of him. It was then he realized how disheveled his hair had become from that little mess. He cast a sheepish look at Devika before shaking his hair back into place. That little lady was smart to keep her hair tied in that neat braid. It would certainly make these games a lot easier. "How do you figure?" he asked. "You like the lightning shows?"Devika:: "Because sooner or late you'll be doing it anyways... I'll dance you into playing my game." She grinned down at him, her wings fanning out behind her as she eyed his coat once more, it was so interesting and beautiful and yet...she didn't know how to explain it. She merely grinned at him and bobbed her head up down rapidly. "Oh I do indeed, I get all...jittery and.." She jumped away from him and zipped around, "..feel alive!"Orias | He always found her cryptic word curious, squinting at her face as though looking for some deeper meaning behind those dazzling, glowing eyes and gems. He was only granted a few moments of scrutiny before she darted away from him, dancing over the ground with boundless energy. "How can one so small be so energetic?" he asked aloud, rising to his feet and following her lead as she weaved over the grass. "You'll tire me out if you keep dancing like that," he returned with a light chuckle. With that, the first crack of lightning flashed, lighting the sky. His neck straightened, alert, then relaxed when the roaring thunder sounded. He sighed, turning his attention back to Devika. She had a point. Every bolt of lightning seemed to send a shock down his spine, one that caused his muscles to tense and his senses to sharpen. He became more aware of himself and the world around him, more alive, if you will. His lips curled back over his teeth and he laughed once more. "Maybe the lightning has its charms," he conceded.Devika:: Her eyes widened as she let out a purr of delight as the sky seemed to come alive as the bolt danced across the angry looking clouds, she all but shuddered from the effects of it. Her eyes found him, a smile played across her features as it seemed the world around them changed as the thunder made the earth under her paws tremble, she found herself trembling as well. "If you sleep, I'll find you in your dreams.." She purred at him, but as another bolt clawed at the sky, her heart thudded in her chest as she found herself picking her way towards him carefully. Orias | "Well, I won't be sleeping with that racket," he laughed. Either way, he did sit down, thinking the more grounded position would calm his nerves. He closed his eyes, still able to see the flashes of light beyond his eyelids, feeling the thunder shake him to his very core. They must have been quite close to the storm in order to feel its effects this strongly, though he did not mind as much. This little female was causing him to find some appreciation for this clouded sky obscuring the stars. After a few breaths, he opened his eyes once more, finding that Devika had moved closer to him. It was then that he realized how curious her statement was. It did not seem like some poetic metaphor, but a solid statement. He flicked his ears, raising an eyebrow. "Visit me in my dreams, hm?" he asked quizzically, as though he were playing along with her game. "How're you gonna do that?"Devika:: She sat herself close to him, while she loved the storm over head, it was indeed very close and startled her a little bit. The tops of her ears coming up to the point of his chin, she was a pint sized wonder. At his question, she looked up at him, head half cocked to the side as she pondered telling him. Normally she dismissed such questions and only tossed back one of her own, but she liked him and his starry coat. "Dreams are what I do, I spread dreams around..." She always felt weird coming out per say, "I am the Goddess of Dreams." She wondered how he would respond, the response is normally why she kept hush on it, she was ashamed of who and what she was, more-so she preferred the pure untainted encounters with mortals and half-lings. Orias | He blinked. 'Oh, well that explains a lot,' he thought to himself. Who would have thought such a little thing could be a powerful goddess? He supposed that is what he got for making assumptions of others before truly knowing the facts about them. Now that he thought about it, the glowing stones and eyes; her enigmatic sentences; and her comments about him not sleeping should have been indicators of something greater, though he simply thought he was playing along with a more zany personality like himself. He found himself feeling incredibly small in the presence of such a being, despite her tiny stature. How interesting. "Goddess, huh?" He smiled. "Dreams..." he tested the word, letting it hang in the air, trying to figure out how to appropriately respond. She seemed so comfortable before, carefree and unconcerned. He did not want that to change unless she wished to have more respect. Regardless of this new information, she was a Goddess before she revealed herself, so why should their current dynamic change? The last thing he wanted was for her to be uncomfortable, so he nosed her gently, an attempt to show her his sincerity. "I'll be sure to sleep someday so you can visit me there." he finally stated with another smile, tail bobbing behind him.Devika:: Laughing, she shook her head with a light dancing in her eyes, "Oh the tricks I'll get you with..." She grinned wickedly, a bolt of lightening streaking across the sky, crashing into the earth some distance away from them, she jumped with a squeak and buried herself against his side. "Holy mother of frogs that was close!" she exclaimed peeking back out. Orias | He frowned, though it was all in good humor, again nudging her with his snout. "I'm not a fan of nightmares, just so you know," he teased, however he did hope she would not twist his dreams into things more sinister. He reminded himself not to make the little lady made, though he liked to think she was enjoying her time with him, regardless of her position as a Goddess. He rested his head atop hers when she rested herself against him. He found it interesting that a Goddess could be scared, though he found himself a bit flattered that she would come to him for comfort. He liked to feel that he could protect her, even if she needed no such protection. "Yeah, it was," he agreed, cocking his head to look down at her. "Does it really scare you, though?"Devika:: Her nose wrinkled, "Nightmares can be a real jerkface.." She shook her head, her darker counterpart was a tough cookie to handle, let alone get close to. "But I can chase him away.." She nodded, the pair had an interesting relationship. She looked at him as if he'd just asked her the simplest of questions to ever be asked. "Yes of course, Im a goddess so it'd take a lot to kill me if it was even possible, but fear is something at effects us all. Im also scared of being stepped on, and its happened more time than I'd like to count!" She shook her head in dismay, a grin tugging on her features. Orias | He nodded, feeling as though the question was maybe a little silly, though it was nice to know even Gods could feel fear. Furthermore, it was nice that Devika did not treat him as some mere mortal. He could feel that she did not look down upon him. "You're right," he replied, "it does affect us all. He considered her words, attempting to perhaps be a bit more shrewd than he was, though he soon realized he had nothing profound to say. It was a little embarrassing, and he hoped she didn't know. "Who would want to kill such a pretty little thing?" he asked, looking down at her with a smile. "And who would dare step on such pretty purple fur?" he pawed at it to show what he meant. It was a very pretty indigo, after all. Even in this low light he could see that. "So what's your biggest fear?"Devika:: She couldnt help but turn he head and giggle a little, she was a female and flattery in any form still affected her all the same. "Oh hush.." She said with a soft laugh. "You should see it with paw prints on it!" She wrinkled her nose and twitched her long tail. At his next question, she grew silent for a moment, her biggest fear? That wasnt a simple question with a simple single answer. "Hmmm, my biggest fear.." She repeated quietly. " She let her mind wander before she looked up at him. " My biggest fear is to be forgotten...I could lose my domain and it would break my heart not to be able to give the beautiful gift of dreams, but I could survive but if no one ever remembered me and not just those that know what I am, but anyone Ive ever met...it would cause me to cease to find happiness in the world. It would be worse than being alone..which Im not a fan of either." Orias | Another frown tugged at his lips, this one more serious. It was a very valid fear, though he wondered how a Goddess could ever lose her domain, especially one as dutiful as Devika. He understood this dissatisfaction with loneliness as well. He spent most of his time alone now that his mother passed, and occasionally he found himself wishing for company. "No one enjoys loneliness." Sure, there may those out there who find comfort in solitude, but those folk did not feel loneliness. He lightly scratched at the grass beneath his paws, contemplative. "I won't forget you," he said, and it was a truthful statement. "Maybe you can put that fear to rest now knowing someone's gonna remember you, even if it is silly ol' me," he added with a grin.Devika:: She clicked her tongue and shook her head, "Tsk tsk, You are more than you believe yourself to be." She nodded sagely at him, as she turned her face towards the sky, her nose twitching. "Rain, rain is coming." She said as she took a deep breath, taking in the damp earthy smell. "Will you enjoy the rain or watch it from the safety of the trees?" she asked with a tilt of her head. Orias | He smiled again. She was good at making him smile. He briefly wondered if she had powers to manipulate the emotions of others, but he doubted it. It was simply a silly, passing thought. He dismissed it as quickly as it came, resting his head on one of her shoulders, hoping she would not object. "Mm," he mused, pressing his lips together. "Depends on what you'd like. I don't have a preference." It would be nice to sit with the goddess in a tree, watching the storm run its course. The mere thought relaxed him. However, he enjoyed the feeling of rain against his skin and how fresh the air smelled as the water cascaded down and washed all the impurities away. They could also play in the rain, but he was not sure of Devika's preferences. It also seemed as though she was testing him and his answers, though, even if it were true, it did not bother him if she was. He enjoyed her little games. "What about you?" he asked with a gentle nudge.Devika:: Leaning into him, she nestled her cheek next to his as she felt an odd feeling wash over her, she wasnt sure what it was, but it made her whole body tingle and her heart to flutter, she would have to think it over another time, she let a huge grin on her face grow. "I am a puddle jumper of old times...though I will admit that its nice to sit back and simply enjoy the scent and sights but after or even during a storm like this, sitting contently watching is almost impossible."Orias | A grin formed on his face, nose twitching. "We're gonna enjoy the rain, then?" He asked. His tail bobbed with excitement as he rose to his paws. He felt a drop of water on a whisker, then one on his ear. As soon as he looked up, the water came pouring down. For now, it was a light drizzle, not one of those deluges which forced most creatures into shelter. He returned his gaze back to Devika, then nudged her side with his nose. "You're it," he said before dashing off into the rain, casting a glance behind him to see if she followed. Devika::She stared at him in open surprise and shock, as the rain began to make dark spots on her coat, she rose to her paws and with a laugh and toss of her long thick braid she bounced after him like a lamb would, her tail springing behind her as she bounced after him. "I'm going to geeeeet you." She chanted as she giggled and began to leap now after him.Orias | He laughed, stopping to look back at her, grinning hugely. "No cheating!" he called out with a wink. She could easily catch him with her wings and flight abilities inherent to Gods. Hell, for all he knew, she could teleport. That would not be fair at all. He watched as she hopped around. She seemed more playful than competitive, though. Good thing, too, for he was not a very competitive sort himself. It would not be much of a challenge for the God to catch the mortal. He was the lamb to her lion, despite her playful bouncing. "Hm, mortal outrunning the God, eh?" he ribbed gently, crouching down while he waited for her to move closer to him. Maybe he could be a little competitive for once in his life, make her do a little work for her victory.Devika:: "Cheating!" She scoffed at him, as if she'd ever. Oooh she'd show him, she thought with a playful smirk, that boy was gonna learn indeed! At his next little jab, she snorted and her movements went from playfully bouncing along to a more determined springing, using her tail to launch herself in his direction with a squeak. "I will get you Orias!" She laughed. Orias | "Oh, are you now?" he countered, eyes narrowing. She was moving faster, just a bit. So his ploy worked and now she was a bit more determined. Well, that could not be good. He considered this notion, wagging his tail. It was then he noticed it was getting harder to see. His hair had collected so much water it became a little more than a sopping wet mess on his head, locks of it obscuring his vision. He recalled thinking that Devika was wise to tie her hair into a a braid, something less obtrusive than this choppy mane he adorned. He huffed softly. Maybe it would be wise to learn a thing or two from her. He shook himself, hair flying only so far out of the way; it had become so heavy it was unwilling to move. She moved ever closer to him as he attempted to adjust himself. Well, this was great.

Devika:: The warm end of summer breeze fluttered between her wings as she laid stretched out in the warm sand, she wiggled her toes as she lifted her face to the warmth of the sun, she enjoyed the salty scent of the ocean as the waves crashed against the shore not to far from where she laid, back legs kicked out behind her as she wiggled herself further into the sand. Her mind wander from subject to subject until she found herself thinking of a special mortal she found herself spending more and more hours with, her mouth twitched into a faint smile. What an odd feeling he seemed to cause, she wasnt exactly sure what it was, but it made her happy and caused her to be nervous as well...and that was interesting as well. Orias | 'There she is.' Orias' ears twitched when he found her relaxing in the sand, enjoying the warmth before winter came to cool the world. The goddess and he were spending increasing amounts of time with each other since the day they met. Unlike her, he had to sleep, though, which is when they usually split till the next day. She did have a job to do, after all, and Orias hated the thought of keeping her from the duties she loved so much. He usually met her once the sun had begun its descent, when the light was a brilliant amber and the shadows were very tall. It was like that now, and she looked stunning, her markings brilliantly shining in the light. Against her dark fur, they almost looked as if they were glowing. He could not help but smile as he moved to her, finding his place by her side. "It's going to be a clear night," he said, sitting down. "The stars will be bright like you."Devika:: Right on time, she thought with a smirk on her muzzle. She looked forward to their little meetings, oddly enough never arranged they simply were. But it was when they parted that she felt herself grow sad. And sad was not an emotion she was used to or even comfortable with! What was she supposed do with sadness?! Her nose wrinkled at the thought before she rolled onto her back, her wings flat behind her as she grinned."Well hello Orias.." She laughed as she lifted her paws into the air and watched the sand fall from her paws. "It should be amazing out here once the sun is completely banished." She glanced over at him and felt a light blush taint her cheeks. "Oh you..What silly words." She looked away for a bashful moment. Orias | "I think you mean honest words," he countered with a smile, nosing one of her raised paws. He did not need to see the blush hiding behind her fur to know what she felt. He had always imagined gods to be placid, almost stoic beings who reserved their emotions and affections for only other gods. He never thought he could ever be something a goddess found interesting or pleasant, yet here she was. He was flattered, and her taking kindly to him only made him like her more. He would have still liked her if she was a mortal like himself; the fact that she was a goddess actually meant very little to him. She would always be Devika to him, a playful, sweet girl. The fact that she was the Goddess of Dreams was more of a footnote if anything. He lowered himself, resting his chin on her chest. "How were your duties today?" He enjoyed small talk with her.Devika::She rested one paw on his shoulder lightly as she smiled at him. She enjoyed this..intimate comfort with him. There wasnt anyone else she shared such a bond with, though she normally had no qualms about invading someones personal boundaries but it usually wasnt the other way around. "Plenty of day dreamers today to keep me humming.." She loved her duties, bringing happiness to others while they surrendered themselves to her abilities. She couldnt have asked for a better duty to be bestowed upon her, it fit her perfectly and allowed her much freedom to explore the world. She curled her long tail around his side, mortals interested her a great deal, but there was something more about him. She thought with a flick of the tip of her tail, he kept up with her. She grinned, and even dared to challenge her, things were never dull..And that was an impressive feat she thought with a grin. "I heard a rumor of a meteor shower...Your thoughts?" She asked with a tilt of her head. Orias | A wide smile broke out on his face. "I didn't know, actually," he stated, the excitement evident in his voice. After all, he could only predict moon phases and eclipses; knowing the times and dates of the falling stars was beyond his capability. After years of watching the skies, he could tell her how the night sky shifted as the year went on. He never understood why this happened, but he could see the stars moving across the sky. Sometimes he could no longer see some constellations but others manifested themselves. It was so amazing to him, almost as amazing as she was. "How do you know this?"Devika::She grinned wickedly before she tapped his shoulder with her tail. "Tsk tsk, a lady never shares her secrets." She winked at him, she knew old ones that had followed the skies as if their lives depended on it and their lives had been started long ago..She always wondered if they were like her, but it had never really mattered. She had sought them out for him. Wanting to share a special night on the beach, where everything would be crystal clear for him..It had cost her a few hours to let the old ones slumber and dream of times long past but it had been worth it. "We will just have to wait and see if this rumor is correct.." She nipped at him softly. Orias | She knew how to excite him, perhaps in more ways than one. He knew it was hard to miss his fixation with the stars, but he wondered if she knew more. His dreams of flight through the stars, exploring the vast unknown... All those dreams had to be her doing. He also wondered if she knew it would be clear tonight, that they would be able to watch the spectacle of falling stars together. He rolled his head so his cheek now rested against her as opposed to his chin, eyes finding hers. "I gotta ask," he began, eyes flickering with curiosity, "how much do you know about me and my dreams?" His words lingered for just a moment before he spoke again with a grin. "I'm honestly curious." Devika:: Her smile slipped away as she drew in a deep breath of the salty cooling air. "Honestly?" She pondered for a moment, no one had ever asked her this before, of course plenty made requests once they knew her true self, but none asked this. She grew somber and serious, before her eyes closed and she shook her head. "Nothing." She said in a hushed tone. "I pry not into the dreams of others, whilst I could and it would be simple enough..I dont. Its disrespectful, and honestly none of my business. Your dreams are a private gift, between your heart, memories and much more..I simply unlock the passage so that the gift may be given in a peaceful, gentle manner." She knew that there was much more she could say to explain what she did, but she wouldn't say more. Orias | This was interesting. He wanted to know more about her powers, how she managed to unlock this passage between heart, mind, and soul. He feared it would be too much for him to understand, though, and he did not want her to feel forced to sate his curiosity. "What if I invited you?" he asked gently. "You could come fly through the stars with me if you wanted."Devika::She shifted, and pressed her nose to his cheek. "Close your eyes and clear your mind.." She whispered softly, her heart thudded in her chest, it almost ached how hard it pounded against her rib cage. She'd never done this before, never taken anyone down a dream path before. She pressed her forehead against his cheek, her eyes closing as slivers of glowing light can be seen under her closed lids. And slowly, she began to open the pathway. Orias | He smiled, bumping his nose to her head. "Wake me up before the falling stars." He then closed his eyes. It did not take long for him to fall asleep. Maybe it was her magic working, or something else entirely. He did find himself more relaxed around her, after all. His breathing slowed, all the tension in his muscles releasing. He found himself on that beach looking up at the sky, entranced by the innumerable twinkling lights and forms of what he could only describe as clouds with wonderful shapes and unsaturated colors ranging from blue to purple mixed with hints of yellow and orange. This stream of clouds followed a distinct curved line across the sky, flowing from that single line. It was this line that he often traveled. He leaped into the air, climbing his way up towards the stars, though he stopped. He remembered Devika was coming with him this time and waited for her.Devika::Once the connection and bridge was complete, her eyes opened and she glanced around. She had never entered another s dream realm before, her ears twitched around nervously. Maybe she shouldnt be here, shouldnt be doing this..What was she doing?! Her feelings were muddling up her mind, but once her gaze fell on him, waiting the world went silent. With a soft smile, she hurried towards him. "Ta-da?" She teased. Orias | He smiled at her when she approached, eyes shining in the sea of celestial colored light and all its hues of pinks, blues, purples, reds, and whites and how the light reflected off her otherwise dark coat. "You're beautiful here," he remarked almost involuntarily, to which he then bit his lip in order to collect himself. "Not that you don't always," he corrected. The lights here make your coat shine in ways sunlight and moonlight can't is all." Hopefully she did not read too far into what he intended to be a compliment. He came closer to her, his face close to hers, gazing intently into her eyes as though searching for something. "How do you feel?" Devika::With his face so close to hers, she knew that there was no chance she could hide the deepening hue of her cheeks. "Why must you say such things?" She whispered softly, her words wouldnt be able to match his, but seeing him here, in his treasured dream made something deep within her soften and melt. Quickly she nosed him softly, "I feel strange being here...unsure." She wanted to laugh, how could she of all beings be unsure in a dream!? The idea was comical..Orias | He let out a light chuckle, nuzzling her before he spoke. "Because it's true." He pulled his head away from hers, watching her for a few short moments. "You don't need to be embarrassed, not with me." He wagged his tail, walking around her in the air they floated in till he stood by her side. "Why do you feel that way?" he asked, though he assumed it was due to the fact that she had never entered another's dream before. This was unfamiliar territory, but another part of him thought it would almost feel natural to her. These were the result of her work, after all. He wanted to know more about her.Devika::Her tail swept up against her side, it was a habit she had when she was, oddly enough nervous. She chewed her lip as she glanced to him at her side. "Never in all the lifetimes have I walked another's dream." She had been asked of course to play with anothers dreams, or even make someone dream of certain things or events...and never had she taken the request. But now, she knew as she looked to him and felt herself relax, she knew that really there is nothing she would deny him."I dont know, sort of feel as if Im somewhere private.." Orias | He was not the best at reading others, as he was infinitely times better at reading the stars; however, even he was not dense enough to miss her anxiety manifesting itself in the form of lip chewing. His smile widened, both an attempt to comfort her and a reaction to how cute it was that she was nervous in her own realm. "I want to share my world with you," he stated. It was probably both the simplest and truest statement he had ever made. "This world is my mind's creation, and I know I'd never want you to be uncomfortable or afraid. This is a safe place for you to be." The honesty in his words could not be disputed. The dream presented itself as a clear image of his subconscious mind. Freedom, the stars, a boundless expanse of night, flight, exploration, knowledge, and wonder are all very dear to him, and all these threads woven together made this dream they found themselves in. His subconscious accepted Devika entirely, even waited for her arrival before preceding into the brilliant unknown, wishing for her company in this adventure and hoping she felt the same.Devika:: She grinned at him, and bumped her hip into him playfully. "Well show me your sanctuary.." She looked around them, she wasnt surprised by what she saw exactly, but the clear vibrant beauty of it all still stole her breath away. Accepting the gift he wanted to share with her, and seemingly just set her free of the nerves that had nibbled away at her, she tossed back her long heavy braid and smiled up at him, eyes glowing brightly while she wove her ancient magic but with something much more powerful as well.
