[PRP] What is that? (Lou, Sludge)

Everything was foreign.

The sky, the ground, the structures that surrounded him. They made no sense, these strange, rectangle things that dotted the place. They must be a type of hive for the other beings.

Everything was so....weird..

Sludge kept himself crouched to the ground, just outside the school gates and next to the brick walls. He had been ordered to return to this place by his queen, to stay here and observe how these beings lived. But as soon as he had came here a army of those little creatures had came and give him funny looking objects. A thin piece of white with black with little black symbols, another rectangle thing with a strange picture on it, and a small white skull. As soon as he touched it he felt different. He was smaller, he could not stand up properly, and his black exoskeleton had been replaced by a softer white skin.

It was all so different, he wasn't sure if he liked it either.

Lou had been bebopin' along, whistling some cheerful little ditty as he took long strides towards the gate and out of Amity. Seemed like a pretty good day. But hey, every day was a good day when you looked this fantastic.

The vampire had almost missed the quasi-black spot crouching next to the wall. Almost. Luckily his crazy spiral eyes didn't fail him.

"Woah hoah!" The boil's feet stopped like he'd stomped on the breaks, and threw himself into reverse.

"What the hell kind of pumpkin did you crawl out of? I didn't think a moldy rind could make children."

The quasi black spot had been busy looking at his hands and his arms, and had not seen Lou approach him until he suddenly talked. Sludge's head snapped up as he backed away, still on all fours. It was obvious he was not pleased with the newcomers presence, legs spayed and mouth open to reveal the sharp fangs he bore.

"HISSSSSS" He pushed himself up onto his hind legs, feeling uncomfortable with the chance in his back structure forcing him to take a more upright pose. Still, he kep his back arched and talons out to make himself threatening as possible. He heard the question about pumpkins and mold but did not give him a answer, Instead choosing to poke out his tongue...

...Wait what?

The xeno looked thoroughly confused as his long tongue poked out of his mouth. This wasn't his second jaw, this was...a pink fleshy thing.

He then looked cross eyed as he tried to examine his poked out tongue.

The only indication of Lou's surprise were his suddenly raised eyebrows and a slight tilt away from the... Thing.

"Hey now. Don't make me get out the newspaper." He joked, promptly laughing at his own funny.

This guy, however, was much funnier. Hilarious, and he didn't seem to realize it. Lou bit his lip to stifle his giggles as the creature went cross-eyed with his tongue poking out. "You seem..." He tried to think of a good way to put it. "... Mental. I like it."

Sludge didn't have the slightest idea what was so funny, but he looked pretty annoyed as he glared at Lou for laughing. It wasn't his fault he had been changed into some ghastly pink squishy thing and lost his extra jaw.

He also had no idea what a 'newspaper' was. Nor what 'mental' meant.

The stripy boil did not seem to be trying to attack him, so he relaxed, crouching back down onto all fours. He was instructed to avoid fighting as much as possible. If he was to learn it would do him no good to fight these things.

At Lou's next comment, he merely tilted his head like some giant diseased dog.

As the stranger relaxed, so did Lou. He shifted his weight to one side, tapping his chin as he examined... Whatever it was.

And of course, he paid no attention to any angry glare he received.

"So uh." Maybe he should speak simpler words. "You." Lou pointed to the boil. "Have name?" He spoke slowly, and most likely mockingly, to try and drive his point across. Really he didn't care if it did have a name or not. He was still going to call it something else. The vampire just wanted to hear it talk.

Since he was speaking slower now it made it a little easier for Lou to understand what he was trying to say. A little. Sludge had very little understanding of the spoken language. All his communications were done through screeches and hisses, Sometimes outsiders would enter the hive by accident and he would hear them scream or shout, but that was about it.

So it was when Lou pointed at him that the xenomorph sat there looking confused. Why was he doing that with his arm?

"Hiiissss.....screeee" It was hard to make the usual sounds he made. The pink fleshly thing kept getting in the way. But if he was to adapt he would have to figure out...how to make those noises the boil was making. "...kkggg....sc...aaaa..."

Lou looked perplexed.

"Well. I can't pronounce that." His arms folded. "So I'm going to call you... Derps. Because of that stupid face you made." Lou nodded sagely at his decision, pleased at the way it sounded.

"You must be new here, Derps. Either that or you took a brick to the head that pretty much reverted you to such a state."

Sludge was able to perform an exact replication of the perplexed look Lou was wearing. He of course didn't know what a Derp was, but like a dog who had been given a new name and being called it for the first time he was aware that the boil had given him some sort of identification. It must have something to do with the 'name' thing he had mentioned earlier.

As lou kept talking, Sludge decided it was time for him to discover just what this boil was. He stood up again, his pose more relaxed this time, and walked closer to the vampire. At the very least he was able to get from A to B, but it was clear he was very wobbly on his feet. Without the weight of his elongated head it threw him off a little. Once closer he leaned in close to Lou's, gazing intently at his swirly eyes and cement like skin that was much paler then his own.

By now he was aware that Lou was different to him in other ways too; Sludge may of been in this form but he soon discovered he could 'see' just as well in other ways too. The electromagnetic waves that a being naturally produced was something he could detect, but this thing was not producing him, and yet it moved and talked as it if were alive. He couldn't understand the contradiction.

He stretched out a claw, jabbing at Lou's chest. He wasn't attacking, he was...trying to figure out if Lou was alive or not.

Lou was unperturbed by the approaching creature. He stood there and watching the mimicry and the wobbles. "Awww, widdle baby took his first steps. Congwatuwations~"

And then came the pointy poke to the chest. Lou stepped back, if only from the bluntness of Derp's actions. "Is this how you make friends where you're from?" The vampire asked and poked back. "Or are you like... Trying to mate with me? Because I know I'm hard to resist, but I'm not into... Whatever... You are."

Thankfully Sludge didn't understand the concept of insults so he took no notice of Lou's sarcastic remarks, more focused on the bizarre biology of the vampire. The skin was ice cold, producing no heat. Yet it was nothing like his exoskeleton...

He didn't flinch when he was poked back. Was Lou trying to figure him out as well?

"Scree....scre?" This communication thing was turning out to be harder then he ever thought possible. He shook his head, obviously frustrated with the situation at hand. Circling around Lou he looked at the strange things on his body. He had been given them too. Perhaps it was some sort of armour to protect the softer skin? That made some sense to him. He tugged at the edge of Lou's suit. For armour it felt pretty weak.

He then reached out a claw to tug on the vampires hair, wondering what function it had.

Trying to figure him out was a bit of an overstatement. Lou was just amused to find such a blank slate.

"Woah woah son! Watch the duds!" Before Derps could pull on his hair, Lou smacked his hand away. "And watch the do. Especially watch the do." His hair was his trademark. He didn't need count to potato boy mucking it up.

The resulting smack caused Sludge to pull back, hissing at Lou as he he thought the vampire would attack. But he could at least understand the reaction Loud had given. The hair must be some sort of weakness. He would have to remember that.

Shaking his head, the xenomorph went to move past Loud and towards the gap in the wall, peering intently at the large building that was the school. He then looked back at Lou with a intense stare. Perhaps he could explain to him just what this place was and what it was supposed to be.

And maybe if he tried really, really hard...he could understand what Lou was trying to say too.

Lou fiddled with his hair a moment before he noticed Derps staring up at Amityville, and then at him. Huh. Weren't there like... Students who signed up for this kind of job?

Wasn't this something he'd be forbidden from doing?

That just meant there was no better reason than to do it.

"Okay." Lou trotted back through the gates and gestured towards the building. "This school. Schoooooool." He sounded it out for emphasis, then pointed to his head. "School help you learn things. Make you... Not so dumb." Smart would've been a strong word at this point.

School. That was the name of the building. And with the way Lou was pointing at his own head he was able to determine this 'school', was supposed to do something to your head. Good, now he had something to go by.

"....Sssss....." He hissed out loud, frowning to himself. "Ssccc....scck.....sckoool" His voice was a horse whisper, a sign that he was not used to using such things as his vocal chords to talk. "Ssscckool." But at least he had learnt his very first word. Sckool!

It was a start.

Sludge then began pointing at his own head. "s....k.....sck...." It was going to be a while before he would be able to produce the 'd' word...
