May 31, 2014 -- Former wrestler Andrew James Warner underwent a successful surgery on his torn LCL and lower back this morning after it was revealed Bad Blood Wrestling covered surgeries for both competitive and non-competitive talent.
Dr. James Andrews, famous for his operations on NFL and NBA players, performed the procedure today in New York City, New York. Medical experts say that AJ should be able to return to 100 percent health within the next three months after undergoing both physical therapy and psychic evaluation.
"Before we started the procedure, we asked Andrew many questions, specifically about his thoughts with rehabilitation and what sort of activity he plans to do when he is recovered," said Dr. James Andrews. "However, a lot of his answers had shown us a large amount of pessimism and due to his addiction history, more mental health screenings are necessary in order to ensure that Andrew returns to competition with no baggage or concern."
"He had a complete tear of his lateral collateral ligament in his left knee and his osteoporosis had not significantly improved from the use of his cane. Our team of doctors decided to have him undergo vertebroplasty that should fix any complications in his spine. We just ask that Mr. Warner spend the next couple of weeks resting, as we will have a psychologist schedule visits to his house. We also want Andrew to wait about twelve weeks before he comes back to regular competition. Bad Blood Wrestling has shown us tremendous cooperation and is willing to wait whatever time is necessary until having Mr. Warner wrestle, despite whatever pleading a lot of these athletes do to return quicker than they should."
No comments have been made by AJ Warner as of yet. His scheduled return is September 1, 2014, according to BBWrestling.com.
