Plot
There has been a school that has been built for a hundred years, but it seems as if no one knows where it is except the people that run it, and the children that go there. In New Mexico, the only way to get into this prestigious school is to fill out a form, most are "scholarship" students. The one thing they all seems to have in common, though they might not know it, is that no one will miss them if they're gone.
In this school, no one knows what's going to happen one day to the next. Sometimes classes start at nine, sometimes at 7. Some days, they have no classes at all and are instead made to play paintball in their separate gangs, but there is no set course at this school. No one is ever allowed to graduate.
All of the kids arrive at different ages, and they all take the same classes at the same time, no matter their age. They stay in dorms, and each student has a room mate, but for some reason, there aren't that many of them even though the school looks as though it was build to hold a few hundred or more.
In this school, there are no grades, and the only thing keeping them in line are their 'contracts', to which they bid on every week, but there is a small truce between the gangs and to which ones they get.
There are three gangs, and a leader for each. The Society, is the upstanding part of the school. They own security and welcoming new students, but it seems as if they are just lap dogs for the school. They send a student to detention, or teach classes. They are usually dressed neatly and professionally. Havoc is more of rougher kids. They usually wear chains, and their contracts are grounds keeping and cooking, which they are graded on, so they always make it good. Usually, they're the ones with the weapons, knifes or makeshift bombs in their rooms. Variants are the people who don't fit in much, or want to escape. Their numbers are few, but they have a fiery will and are usually uncontrollable. Contracts that belong to them are maintenance and cleaning. Students are usually recruited into these gangs, but they have the right to choose.
To keep them in line, the students are awarded points on various things, such as doing their school work and doing their jobs well. The weekly, sometimes daily paintball tournament also affords the winners a large amount of earnings. Using points, the students can buy what they need, though the better things often takes months to wrack up points.
There are four big rules that no one can break, or otherwise get detention.
1. They cannot try to escape.
2. They cannot hurt someone... violently.
3. They cannot break property of the school.
4. They must follow along with their punishments.
And in case you haven't noticed, detention here means death.
If you break a rule other than these, all you will receive usually are mild punishments. Now, sometimes there are.. incidents... where the students kill each other under orders of the school, but those haven't happened in a while.
