*Gwen sat on her bed, listening with all her strength for a knock on the door. The house was so quiet she could barely belive it. Her father had sent everyone out so that he could meet Gwens "Suitor" on his own terms. He had also informed her to stay in her room until told to come down. So anxiously she waited and jumped a foot high with a startled yelp when the knock did come.*
A normal noodle answered the door, peering out into the evening light to see who was there. "Yes?" He said simply
Twil: *mouth twitches slightly in amusement. Parents were always amusing, although normally his dates didn't live at home anymore, so his experiences were limited.* Thank you. *walks in and stands there looking around with his hands behind his back*
*THe house was an old Victorian style home kept clean and tidy, decorated in near period style. Patrick firmly closed the door and came to stand in fornt of Twil, gesturing to the left there was a nicely appionted sitting room* We can speak together in here, Have a seat *He said in his best aproximation of a gruff voice*
Twil: *mutters slightly louder than he means to* Oh dear, the talk. *takes a seat* Sorry, you're a little late to be the first person to give me the "my daughter" lecture.
Patrick: *stumbles slightly as he follows Twil into the room* Excuse me?*Looks at Twil in shock for a moment before recovering* Now you listen here, this isn't just some floozy you picked up in a B,..bar. My Guenivere was raised to be a Lady and I need to know she will be treated as such! You might be a womanizer for all I know, but this is my Daughter. *Steps up to the chair Twil is sitting in* I know what you boys think, I've read all about it in the parenting books. And they say to be stern and forceful and make sure the boy knows how importaint your daughter is to you. *Patrick began pacing as he talked, not threateningly so, more absentmindedly, gesturing with his hands* And I knwo what young girls are like too, they are sugar and sweet and nice, and don't know what they're getting themselves into. Especially my Guenievere. Now your the first BOY she's brought home so I imagine you must mean alot to her for her to bring you by, and for pete's sake she's talked my ear off about you, and I promised her I wouldn't embarass her, but I made it clear I had some rules to giv- *He stopped and looked at Twil as though seeing him for the first time. With a sigh and a shake of the head he dropped into a chair* I've made a mess of this
Twil: I'd give it a 6. I've heard better. But let's face it. I'm an adult, older than your daughter, yes, but she's also an adult and should be allowed to make her own decisions. I have no itentions of doing anything she doesn't want to do, but I will assure you that over protective fathers are the number one cause of young ladies making incredibly stupid decisions in my eperience, and the more you try to protect her the more she'll go out and do things you'd rather her not.
Patrick: *Looked bleakly up at Twil, and listened in turn to what he had to say, nodding slowly at first then just listening wide eyed* W...we....well you seem like a...a...gentleman with a decent head on his shoulders. *He looked quite surprised to being saying this* Thank you, I, I will think on what you said. *Suddenly awkward he stood and went to the door way, calling Gwen who came bounding down.*
Gwen: *looked back and forth from one to the other wondering what had transpired, But there appeared to be no blood so that was a good sign, all the swords were still on the wall* Hi Dad! H.h hi Twil!
Twil: I do try. *stands up and rolls his shoulders letting his wings fluff then settle.* Hello again, Gwen. Your father and I had a delightful conversation, but I'm ready to leave whenever you are.
Gwen: *Couldn't help but let her eyes go to twill as he moved, her eyes bright. Blushingly she said "Oh I'm ready!" Turning to her father she gave him a hug saying " I'll be out late tonight, I don't expect anyone to wait up for me- even though I know you will." With a wry grin to Twil she went to the door and lead them outside*
Twil: *follows her to the door and opens it for her letting her go through first. Bows a bit to Patrick* Good Evening, sir. *slips out closing the door behind him*
Gwen : "Blushing more at Twil's chivalry she could feel the butterflys from last time coming back, she'd been hoping they'd been a product of the alcohol but apparently not* Oh my gawsh Twil, I am so sorry for him, I like I told you he's quite protective of me, I do hope he didn't give you too much trouble!
Twil: We came to...an understanding I think. *smiles charmingly* I should have asked, but do you care for Thai food?
Gwen: *she breathed a sigh of relief, too glad to be with twil for her curiousity to kick in, until his next words* "Tye food? I don't think I've ever had it, but i'm not a picky eater....
Twil: Well then this shall be a bit of and adventure then. I know a nice little place not far actually, I made reservations as well.
Gwen: *Unable to help herself she smiled her sweetest smile at Twil* Oh wow! A real date! *Her eyes widened and she clapped a paw to her mouth, suddenly horrified*
Twil: *chuckles* Well I'd hoped so. I'm not sure what else to call it otherwise.
