Peklo sat in her little wonder, quietly doing her math homework and not bothering anyone, as per usual. She loved her home-away-from-home in the surrounding, feeling completely relaxed and at ease in her wonder. Lately she'd been spending more and more time here, sometimes even more than she spent at home. Her parents never noticed of course, thinking she was just being quiet in her room. Sometimes she just told them she was visiting the library. The lie never had to be very complicated.
"The square root of cosine X is ...." She bit the end of her pencil, which was already chewed to pieces. "Oh, it's no use, I don't get it," she mumbled, setting the math book aside and leaning back in her little wooden chair. Despite her reclusive nature, Peklo was no smarter than the average high schooler.
The homework wasn't even due until next week. She'd been using the homework as an excuse to avoid what she'd been avoiding all week. She had a lot of feelings about her new hair and her princess that she needed to convey, but not a scrap of courage to convey them with.
Maybe she would get lucky and Princess Chronos would just .... show up at her door. Yeah. That was courageous.

In truth, Chronos had been kept busy with school the past few weeks, and it had become a rare occurrence for anyone to be able to bump into her at the Surrounding. While Serenade, like Peklo, found it conducive to do her homework in the Surrounding, and peaceful too, she felt somewhat obliged to at least show her presence regularly in practice rooms.
Being a music major was tiring, but she loved it. She just wished she wasn't so torn between the two major parts of her life.
When the assignments were over and as it neared summer, the workload began to ebb, and she found more energy within herself to make the trip to the Surrounding yet again. This time, she had promised herself to stay longer, and maybe check out the other Outposts.
It was walking about Virgo's that she remembered that Peklo's wonder was nearby, and decided to pay it a visit. The door was closed, and so the Princess raised a hand to rap gently on the door, wondering if anyone was in.
