Description:

Darcy's savings and Ministry funds went into finding and outright buying this beautiful cottage as a wedding present for his newly acquired equally beautiful wife Jane. The home is surrounded by grass and wildflowers with a backyard that leads into a small forest while also only being a ten minute walk from the nearest beach.
The inside of the house goes as followed:
The front door opens and leads directly into a short divided entrance way with the living room on the right side and the stairs on the left.

Past the living room is the spacious kitchen along with the dining room.

Upstairs, there is first a small cozy den with a telly so that the two newlyweds can enjoy one of their favorite pastimes; snuggling on the couch drinking tea or eating ice cream while watching a Jane Austen movie.

Off to the left of the den is the refurbished nursery for the twins. They kept most of the same elements Jane had designed for Aurora but split it and made some of it a bit blue. Since his firstborn wasn't really a baby anymore they decided she deserved her own room and added on one just for the growing girl. The bathroom however was left alone for the time being.

And off to the other side of the den is the master suit complete with master bedroom and master bath.

Back downstairs and out the backdoor is the large open backyard with beautiful willows and flowers, a nicely sized patio for seating and hearing the pitter patter of small feet.

Darcy apparated a small distance away from the home he had purchased in secret to surprise his new wife. He grinned as he soon smelt the sand and salt coming from the beach only mere miles away and saw the many wild flowers populating the land around their new home. Quickly he placed Jane's own hands over her eyes and began guiding her over so she could take in the whole visage. Using practically ever knut he had squared away as well as money he had (legitimately tied down and forced to take) from both his family and Jane's he bought the home in Devon along with the land surrounding it and also the furniture that was used to decorate it. He hadn't had the first clue about decoration but luckily it would seem that both his Aunt and his now Mother-in-Law quickly bonded over what both young adults would like to start their lives together. And he had to say, they did a fantastic job. Once he was sure she was in the perfect place to view their new home he grinned. "I know that most newlyweds give each other personal wedding gifts and I thought that maybe we could do the same. So with the help of both our families, I bought something I really really hope you'll love just as much as I did." Darcy gently pried her hands away from her eyes and waited for her reaction.

Jane sighed happily as the familiar feeling of apparation left her. The past two weeks had been pure bliss. She was a married woman, finally it had happened. She was a wife, a wife who had had an incredible two weeks and finally understood what all the fuss was about. It was nice...but that was hardly the important part. They had spent much of their time touring throughout Eastern Asia, making stops in Japan, China, and her favorite Korea. Getting time to see the countryside as well as the large cities and all with her husband. Husband. Something about that word was just so nice. She grinned as he put her hands over her eyes. What more could their possibly be? She already had Darcy and that was the best gift in the world. She took in a deep breath, letting herself taking in the smells of the surroundings. She didn't have a clue where she was but so far it was amazing if the smells could say anything and Jane knew far years of experience that most certainly could. She listened closely to the words and let her mind begin to wander but she could hardly be prepared for what she saw as her eyes were open. As the sight was brought to her view her breath was taken away. In front of her sat the most beautiful little house she had ever seen. "Is that...that's..." She could even finish the words."It's absolutely beautiful." And for one of the first times their entire life together became real. She suddenly jumped up and threw her arms around him, burying her head in his chest. "I love it. I love you." She didn't really know what else to say but she knew life would be amazing.

Darcy grinned at his wife's reaction to the gift and Merlin did he enjoy saying the word "wife"! He had thought that during the two weeks continually using the word while enjoying their honeymoon he would tire of it and it couldn't be farther from the truth. He loved calling Jane his wife mainly because it meant that their lives were forever intertwined. And the -ahem- perks that came along with marriage didn't exactly hurt neither! He chuckled as she jumped into his arms proclaiming her love for him before placing a light kiss on her head. "I'm glad you love your surprise, and there's a lot more to see. But first..." he got mischievous glint in his eyes before in one fluid movement he gathered her in his arms and began walking towards the home. It took him a few seconds to get the use of his wand to open the door while his arms were full but he managed without even jostling his wife and carrying her over the threshold like he'd always imagined doing. Once they were firmly in the home he kicked the door closed and placed Jane back on the hardwood floor and turned on the lights. "Well, what do you think?!" Her owl Marshmallow, whom he had to bribe with a handful of owl treats for him to be placed in the cage to transport him over, was sleeping on his now familiar spot on the windowsill in the spacious green kitchen.

As Darcy kissed Jane's forehead she smiled brightly and squealed with surprise when she was lifted off the ground. As the walked to the door she grinned even more. Only true gentlemen did things like this, there wasn't the smallest doubt in her mind that she had married the right person who also happened to be the greatest man on this planet. Oh and how it turned her on that he could carry her. She'd always looked for that in a man. She laughed a bit as he struggled opening the door and then, just like that they were over the threshold of their new home. It was just as she had always imagined. She was put back on the floor gently as she looked around with wide eyes. It was like ever corner she examined she could imagine their future all laid out in front of them. In her mind there were little children running in every which direction, running and playing. Her life was suddenly laid out before her and it was incredible. She walked forward and took in every little detail of the house. She entered the kitchen and quickly saw Marshmallow perched. She laughed slightly, everything was truly perfect. "Darcy," She said "It's absolutely wonderful. Just perfect." She added, gently petting the feathers of the familiar sleeping bird. "Perfect." She said again, fully aware that this wasn't even the extent of the home. Of their home.

Darcy chuckled as Jane squealed with joy as he carried her over the threshold and watched her with happiness shining through his eyes as she went and examned the living room and kitchen following sedately behind her. Her eyes were slightly glazed over as if she were imagining something making him wonder what it was she was seeing. If it was even slightly like the daydreams he had had while designing the place then he wouldn't even fathom waiting to make them come true. For her happiness of course. He turned towards her as she called his name and stepped over behind her wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her close to his chest with a silly grin. "If you think this is perfect, wait until you see the rest of the house." he chuckled and pressed a kiss the nape of his wife's neck before grabbing her hand. He lead her towards the dining room showing her the simplistic but cosy design of it before taking her outside and showing off the backyard. "This was where I was all those days I told you I was busy. When I first bought the place, this looked more like a jungle than an actual backyard. I'm just glad the only animals I encountered was the odd stray cat and a turtle." Darcy said eternally grateful there had been nothing worse back there. After showing off the backyard he took Jane back inside and up the wooden curving staircase and up to the comfortable den which was his second favorite room to decorate. Already by the television were the stacks of the couple's favorite movies and a top of the line player to watch them with as well as a very comfortable couch to watch them on. "There's an empty room that we didn't want to touch without your input in case you wanted to make it a library, or a studio, or even a guest bedroom, but the bathroom is all nicely set up. And of course, last but I hope not least, the master bedroom!" Darcy took her towards their now shared bedroom and looked to see her reaction.

Jane happily accepted the kiss to her neck and took his hand. She continued to take in each detail of the house as she listened to him and all the words he spoke. She looked over the backyard and could once again imagine herself there gardening here as her children played around her. After all she was quite skilled in Herbology class at Hogwarts and she was sure she could put them to some use.
Every detail was exceptionally beautiful and honestly exactly as she had imagined and wished it would be. It was amazing how in sync their two brains seemed. Perhaps that was made them so perfect together. They were so compatible, yet so different. Apparently that's really what was needed for a relationship to succeed. Or maybe that had absolutely nothing to do with it. She did suppose she would never really know. It probably just worked out, because if worked out. Not that that made the slightest bit of sense but to be perfectly honest rarely things that came to her mind did.
She continued to follow him hanging on to every word that came out of his mouth. As they came to the empty room her mind started wandering over all the possibilities. Sure she would adore a library or perhaps her own personal study of some kind but only one thought continued to enter into her mind over and over again. Nursery. She was sure that she would have time to think about that however...
Jane continued to follow Darcy and her mind wandered once again, "You know speaking of cats," She said going back to the words from a time ago, "I got you a little surpri..." She trailed off as she suddenly found herself inside the master bedroom. She took in a deep breath. "Darcy it's magnificent!" She stopped suddenly once again and turned to him with a mock accusatory glare. "Why is it I feel like this is purposefully the last stop on our little tour?" She asked with a sly look in her eyes.
Jane gently put her arms around his neck and leaned in closer, "Hmm? I do expect answers." She said going in even closer and placing a kiss on his lips.

Darcy wondered what she meant about the cats but was happy Jane loved the rest of their home. He shrugged sheepishly at her question and was about to reply when her arms suddenly found themselves wrapped around his neck and her lips were upon his. Any thoughts he might have had or witty remarks were instantly blown out his mind as he mainly just focused on the feel of his wife in his arms and just how wonderful their kiss really was. Without thinking he lifted her up off the ground only to plant her onto the large king sized bed never once breaking their liplock. Only when the need for air became the winning factor did he finally stop and realize that he had laid her on the bed and was now laying half way on top of her. He blushed having not known he would react that way while also giving Jane a teasing glare. "Why Jane Bennett you are a tiniest bit of a tease aren't you?" he chuckled lowly before placing another soft kiss upon his lips before jumping off of her. "So what was that about cats?" Darcy asked after a minute of thinking.

Jane accepted the kiss happily, there were more than a few benefits of being married. This was one of them. Had they not still been kissing as she landing the bed she would have laughed at her adorable husband. When she was finally released from the kiss she stared up at his deep colored eyes and took a deep breath, letting herself be filled with his familiar scent. "Me? Never." She insisted with a sly smile as she accepted yet another kiss. She sat up and looked at him, just glad to be so near to him. She could of just sat there looking at his familiar form for the rest of the day. She was never exactly sure what it was that had drawn her to Darcy so in the first place. Truly it seemed to just be everything that he was. Kind, gentle, caring, heroic, and exceptionally gorgeous. Like, ooh, he was fine. And those eyes. They had so much life within them, the darkness and almost gray that they had. It really enthralled her somehow. When she saw those eyes she saw love. Her thoughts were suddenly drawn away from the thoughts of how deeply she loved him when his voice came into her mind. She glanced at him and couldn't help but laugh a bit, "Cats, yes. Well I bought you a cat..." She shook her head and smiled again. "Though I have to admit the little guy is nothing compared to this. But don't tell him that he might be offended." She said, only half jokingly.

Darcy scoffed at Jane's rebuttal and just laid on the bed beside her letting the soft pillow-like mattress and cushioning his body. He could imagine coming home and climbing into bed with his letting the bed melt away all his tension from work while he and his wife worked on-ahem-stress release. He had just closed his eyes and was letting the bed do its job when they popped back open and he jumped up in surprise to Jane's words. "You got me a cat?! That's, you, you're amazing!" he said with a startled laugh. Only few people knew he secretly wanted a familiar and felt cheated that he didn't get the experience of owning one as well as going off to a traditional school. And even fewer people knew that he wanted a cat, so of course Jane fit both criteria. Darcy pulled her into another sweet kiss before excitedly getting off the bed and looking like a child on Christmas. "Where is he? And it is a he?"

Jane stepped through the door into her new home, a place that was already becoming quite familiar to her. She tossed her bag and jacket down on the floor and moved through the quiet house, the only noise was the slight sound of her heels clicking on the wooden floors. She ran a hand through her hair and flopped down on chair. She had been back to work almost a month now and she was fairly certain she had adjusted herself to married life rather well. Her life had been rather wonderful really and had felt the best she had in her life. Up until now anyway, so maybe it was a completely unrelated matter but for the past few days she'd been miserable. She was nauseated and had even thrown-up, and that never happened. It had been so bad the Ron had ended up sending her home early despite her protests. She rubbed a hand across her forehead and then reached down and undid her shoes before kicking them off. She was exhausted and really wanted nothing more than to make some tea and take a hot bath, maybe get into something actually comfortable. Her stomach seemed to protest once again and wow did she need to use the bathroom...and why on earth was she so...tender? Her eyes widened and she gasped suddenly. No, that wasn't possible. She jumped to her feet, her mind seemed frantic so suddenly. She padded up the stairs and into the Master Bedroom, not letting herself just curl up on her wonderful bed, but instead moved toward the bathroom. She rummaged around one of the many cupboards until she pulled out a box, a gift that her Aunt Renee had so charitably bestowed upon her. She open the package and went about it. Her mind was absolutely racing, it was as if the rest of her life would be determined in a matter of minutes. She washed her hands, trying to get her mind to think of something else, anything else. She tried to think of about her wedding a few months ago, about the beautiful house she was in, the wonderful little kitten her and Darcy now had. Though when she thought of kittens, well...those were baby cats. And in the house their happened to be a spare bedroom, one that they had not decided a use for yet. She took a deep breath and blew all the air out of her lungs. Oh my goodness this was the longest wait of her entire life. She moved from the bathroom and through herself on her bed. That did not help as much as she thought it would. That bed had certainly been used in the time in this house. She grabbed a soft blanket and wrapped it around herself. Oh how she wished Darcy weren't at work. Oh...how on earth was she going to tell Darcy? Oh, being married did have it's interesting points. She stood and once again moved into the bathroom of the master suite. Her hands were shaking just a bit as she picked up the plastic stick, she looked down and there in front of her was the most terrifying red x that she had ever seen. She put it down and looked at herself in the mirror. She was pregnant. She was going to be a mother. This didn't settle her mind in the slightest. She ran to the box and picked up another pregnancy test, maybe it was a false positive. She followed the same procedure and in yet another five minutes there it was. The elusive red x. This went on another two times and now it seemed to be drilled into her brain. She turned on the faucet and splashed water onto her face. Oh my, this was certainly an interesting turn of events, wasn't it.

James walked down the streets of the rather…quaint village. His eyes darting back and forth at the area around him, taking in ever small detail. It had taken a surprising amount of work to find the destination of his dear Jane’s new residence. It had truly come as a shock to him when he discovered Jane’s real identity. He was surprised he’d gone all these years without putting two and two together. He should have known the moment he’d heard about the ‘private boarding school in the Alps’ she was attending. That was the exact same excuse his parents had used all those years before. It wasn’t like he ever really spent time with his family, especially not the Doyle’s, but he should have been smarter than this. Imagine his surprise when he had showed up the wedding only to see what seemed like every employee of the Ministry of Magic. Even then he still had his doubts but it seemed both Jane and he knew husband appeared in several Ministry records. It was after this research that she had learned of Darcy’s position as an Auror and then a plan had began to form in his mind.

Now he was here, searching for the couple’s home, he only hoped this worked as planned. He was sure it would, after all he had been preparing for this very moment since he left the wedding that night. The only thing he had to worry about was getting Jane to cooperate but he doubted that would be difficult. She always was easily manipulated, especially when it was someone else’s life that would be hanging in the balance if she didn’t. That made him hope it even more, killing was, after all, such a messy thing. Also it took far too much work.

After another few moments of walking James came up the house. A smile crept over his face as he moved his hand toward where his wand was kept. It was a definite possibility that this would be too easy.

Jane paced around her bedroom floor, taking deep breaths. Her whole life she had dreamed of this moment, she had been sure that would be ecstatic and she definitely thought she’d be prepared but…oh was wrong. She most certainly did not feel old enough to be in this situation. She was pretty sure she was still a child! Marrying had already been a huge step and now, just like that, she was going to have a child. A child. A real human baby. She sat down on the edge of the bed and bent over, putting her head between her knees. She could do this, she was sure of it. Maybe. Or she would die first because her heart couldn’t handle of the stress.
Jane was drawn from her thoughts by a knocking on the door. She stood awkwardly, her legs shaking just a bit. Who on earth would be coming to her home. It was the middle of the day and most everyone she knew would be at work right about now. She quickly slipped into a t-shirt and some rather unbecoming sweatpants but at this point she hardly cared. She took another deep breath, desperately hoping she could make it through a conversation with someone and she also hoped for their sake, that it was not a salesman.
She quickly raced down the stairs and into the front room before yanking open the front door. She stopped suddenly, her eyes furrowed in confusion. “Oh. James what a surprise…” Jane muttered, her eyes scanning her uncles face. The man had not really been a part of her life…ever. She’d be surprised that he’d even come to the wedding and now here he was, at her house. This day was getting more and more strange.
