Name: Louis Anthony Suite
Nickname: Louie. Some crazier nicknames include Lulubell and Loosey-Goosey, but these are from his younger sister and he tends to tune them out.
Age: 14
Birthday: October 7th
Sign: Libra
Gemstone: Opal
Blood Type: A+
Fav. Food: Sloppy Joes, burgers, and other hot and hearty meaty dishes. He likes steak, but doesn't get to eat it very often. He also loves pretty much any kind of cake known to man.
Hated Food: Raw vegetables. Louie is a man, and men don't eat rabbit food.
School: Meadowview High School
Hobbies:
Press A to Start: Video games help Louie deal with the tedium of day-to-day life. When he gets sick of school or home life- which is pretty much all the time- he throws himself into a fantastical world full of problems only he can solve, and people only he can save. Plus he gets to kick butt! Most of his games are loans from friends or bought secondhand, and he tends to run a system or two behind current, but as long as a story is new to him, that doesn’t matter. He does tend to hop from one game to another fairly frequently, as his interests and goals shift. For Louie, gaming is less about newness or completion, and more about giving him something interesting and diverting to focus on.
Gotta Kick It Up: Louie doesn’t really care for soccer. His mother doesn’t really care about his protests. And so he’s been playing for school teams ever since he was old enough. Over the years, he’s learned how to manage things, doing just enough to seem like a contributing member of the team, and happily sitting on the sidelines most of the time, letting the teammates who actually bother to practice get all of the glory. When he has to play, he’s decent enough from years of practice. Sometimes he even has fun, but it’s still not the sort of thing that he’ll get excited about. He’s there because of obligation and free pizza on game day, nothing more.
Piano Man: All of the Suite siblings had to try piano lessons. One of Louie’s deepest, darkest secrets is that he actually really liked it. Not the lessons- they reeked of obligation and annoyance- but the piano. It’s what he throws himself into when he wants to feel productive, which, granted, isn’t very often. When he has time to himself, he’ll even practice on occasion, either at school or on the keyboard at his house. He’s particularly fond of jazz piano, and listens to it a lot on the computer, though he knows he’s a long way from playing anything like that. Especially since, aside from one year of lessons, he’s essentially self-taught.
Responsibilities? What’s Those?: There are few things more boring than doing what you’re supposed to. Whether it’s chores, homework, or anything else inflicted on him without his consent, Louie has made getting out of his commitments into an art form. The surprising fact is that this almost never involves any kind of lying, which goes against what he believes is right. Instead, he comes up with other things he’s busy doing, even if they’re more troublesome and/or less useful. He didn’t do his homework because he was working on a crossword puzzle, and he can’t go to the store because he’s got to finish this level of Puzzle Warriors. Of course it’s important! And when all else fails, he’ll disappear altogether and apologize later, when it’s too late to matter.
Virtues:
Got To Keep It Real: Louie tells it like it is. What's the point of making things more complicated than they have to be? None, that's what. Part of this is because honesty is an important Suite family trait, but most of it is because he doesn't like exerting energy on lying when the truth is way easier to keep track of. On the rare occasion when he has to lie, he finds himself tripping over his words, trying to keep his story straight. So if he's telling you something, it's probably true- or at least, he thinks it is.
Why Should I Worry?: Anxiety? Tension? Save ‘em for people who care. Louie is rarely invested in a situation enough to get upset when things go wrong. He knows they’ll go wrong, accepts it, and doesn’t bother wasting time stressing the details. Even in the rare case where he cares about the outcome of a situation, he doesn't waste time and energy freaking out, and it's at times like these that he's most likely to actually do something productive. Maybe.
Wasted Potential Is Still Potential: Just because Louie is rarely moved to use his gifts doesn’t mean he hasn’t got them. Underneath his slacker exterior he’s quite smart, good at thinking on his feet, and capable of making keen observations. He just usually doesn’t bother with all of that. But when he has reason to focus on something, he tends to surprise those around him with his quick thinking, and when it comes to the few things he cares about, he can actually be (gasp) reliable. Just don’t tell anyone else, or they’ll expect that sort of thing out of him all the time.
Flaws:
Whatever, Man: When it comes down to it, Louie has a hard time bringing himself to care about anything. Grades aren’t really important in the long run. Housework will get done even if he doesn’t do it. And if it doesn’t, so what if he has to sleep in dusty sheets and live off of cereal? People tend to fare a little better, but it’s still not easy for him to make lasting relationships, since they require more effort than he’s generally willing to put in. He knows that, in theory, there must be something out there he’s willing to invest himself in… but until it shows up, he sees no reason why he should waste his energy on things that aren’t important to him.
True Grit: Louie always says what’s on his mind. He doesn’t sugarcoat, censor, or use different tones for different people. Everyone gets the same thing from him: the truth as he sees it, albeit coarse, snark-filled and often unasked for. This tends to make people believe he’s rude, and they’d be right. Many have asked him to fix his crude behavior. Of course, he cares about this about as much as he cares about anything else anyone asks him to do- namely, not at all.
King Of Stupid Stunts: To say that Louie is impulsive would imply that he doesn’t think through the dumb things he does. This is generally incorrect. Most of the time, Louie goes ahead and considers the consequences of his plans. Half of the time, he even realizes they’re bad ideas. This almost never stops him from actually going through with them. While they can sometimes have a good cause at the root of them (jumping into a fight to help someone who’s being bullied), just as often there is no reason he should be doing something like that (trying to ski-jump off the roof). Even he’s not sure why he pulls some of this crap, but when asked, he cites boredom, as if that excuses the fact that he’s on the way to the hospital with a broken leg.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Eyes: Gray
Hair: A duller shade of blue than Wallace's. Louie's hair is more curly, and frizzes terribly in heat or humidity, poofing out at the sides unless he wears a hat or ties it back.
Face: A face that is a face. Unlike the rest of his siblings, Louie does not need glasses.
Clothes: Meadowview Uniform. When not in uniform, Louie's stuck with a lot of Wallace's hand-me-downs, which are either wearing out (the t-shirts and shorts) or way more formal than he likes to be (shirts and slacks).

Knight Title: Hliðskjálf, Page of Cosmos
Challenge: You can run, but you can't hide!
Uniform: Based on the Odinic Wanderer: robe, cloak, wide-brimmed pointy hat optional. Lots of fabric, lots of flow, but nothing that looks like he's wearing a dress. Wide sleeves might be nice. Main colors should be white and shades of blue I think? Metallic parts should be silver, as a reference to his wonder. Refs aren't scanned in yet, but can be provided upon request.
Weapon:
Page: A monocle. The lens is worked with silver filigree, and is connected to Hliðskjálf's collar (should he have one) with a thin silver chain, about two feet long. The chain breaks when too much tension is applied to it. No magic. Squire: A fancy handheld lens. The frame is made of silver, and the handle is a pale wood with silver inlay. When Hliðskjálf channels his magic, he can use the lens to see infrared light from people and objects (a nod to infrared astronomy). This allows for a certain level of night vision, and also helps combat illusionary techniques. Hliðskjálf must be looking through the lens to use his magic, and his magic pool allows him to channel for 40 seconds. Knight: A handheld lens with a really long handle, which is prone to breakage when used in extensive combat. Basically, this is a lightweight staff with a lens at the top, but Hliðskjálf prefers to think of it as a spear without the pointy part because he thinks that's more macho. Now Hliðskjálf can channel his magic without actively looking through the lens, though he must still do so to initiate channeling. His mana pool allows for 60 seconds of enhanced vision.
Summon: An eight-legged horse that can be ridden by Hliðskjálf, or by someone of his choosing, though only he can direct it, and only with simple directions (like "go that way!" or "follow me"). It allows for faster movement than running, giving Hliðskjálf a way to charge his enemy... or, more likely, given his lack of a reliable weapon, a means of making a hasty retreat when he ends up in over his head.

Hi, DS!
On the whole, I think Loiue looks great. However, I do have some concerns about his magic - namely, that it doesn't particularly fit Cosmos!
Cosmos's themes are eternity, rebirth, and stars - if you could make his magic tie into those, he'd be good to o<3
Quote me once you've made changes, or if you have any questions!

Songstress Kitsune Hi, DS!

As for the magic, I'm not totally sure if I can explain the connection between infrared astronomy and stars better than the link can, but I'll try! Stars emit light, including infrared; much of the energy we get from our sun is in the form of infrared radiation. Being able to detect this energy struck me as a Cosmos knight thing to do, especially since astronomers use infrared astronomy to learn things about how the universe was at its beginning (connecting to eternity) and how things have changed since then (connecting to rebirth). However, being able to use all light struck me as overpowered, so I thought it would be better to restrict Hliðskjálf to one area of the spectrum. Infrared was chosen in part because of its connection to this particular kind of astronomy and its uses, and also because it is just below visible light on the electromagnetic spectrum, so it's somewhat safer and less "out there" than, say, gamma-ray astronomy.
I hope that helps! If there's anything further that needs clarification, let me know and I'll do my best! ^^
