The Dragon
Sleuth
Parents: Hiraeth X Balith
Clutched: Turn 3 / Month 9
Siblings: Ellioth, Leoth, Blyth, Marloth, Ankheth, Horteth, Peth
Appearance:
Sleuth is a handsome green, if a little rotund - she will easily run to fat if left to her own devices or given a period of inactivity, and will always be a little overweight. Despite this, she moves surprisingly lightly and quickly... and even, on occasion, stealthily, being extremely light on her claws.
Yevalee thoughts: She is ample body, bold, and absolutely beautiful. I'm going to have to keep an eye on her, but curves are beautiful.
Sound of voice: A quill scratching, the weight of responsibility, the glint of gold.
Yevalee thoughts: Her voice is skittering, like pens but heavy. It is odd to think of that sound as heavy, but they apply ink to paper and that transformers into orders and allow for all sorts of thing. Responsible, that it. And there is a glimmer of promise, a shine just out of the corner of one's eye.
Personality :
Sleuth is an incredibly intelligent creature, and it will be an unusual puzzle that flummoxes her for long - indeed, she lives for puzzles and conundrums, and working through them is going to be her favourite activity from now until she meets her fate between. Given the right motivation, she will be wonderful at assisting her rider in puzzling out the connections between events and cases: if ever there was a dragon to work out a conspiracy, it will be her - though occasionally she'll also see connections that don't exist, with her tendency to see everything as a puzzle, and between she and Marloth they'll be able to cook up terrifying conspiracy theories.
She will always long for people who can meet her intellect and challenge it, whether that be her rider or other dragons, and will be drawn to rarified circles. Sleuth is also logical in the extreme, and may find it hard to process the occasionally illogical way people act - although she will grow used to it and even think of it affectionately sometimes, it will always puzzle her. Her rider will have to help her in terms of her emotional understanding for her to figure out the pieces of the puzzle that escape her.
This green is extremely fastidious about her appearance, and will always be well-groomed: there will be frequent requests to her rider to update her jewellery, her straps, everything she owns to keep it up to date with current fashion. Her rider will be nagged until they are also fashionable and neat, and she will always despise uncleanness. She is also an efficient creature who will always do things in the best possible way… even if it takes her ages to set things up to do them in the best possible way, well, there'll be savings in the end.
However, Sleuth is not always a kind or ‘good’ dragon: she is cold and calculating, with little to no concept of loyalty beyond that to her rider. She will always do what benefits them best in any given scenario, no matter what friends it might lose her. She isn't an emotional creature in terms of her response to things, but is absolutely capable of making strong connections even if she finds it difficult to express them sometimes.
She also has a tendency to over-complicate things: a simple solution will never do for her when she can make things elaborate, and will always have a particular love of setting up rube goldberg like scenarios. This is something which can absolutely backfire on her when some unexpected factor crops up. She is also a proud creature, with a tendency to take any affront to her dignity very hard - and her rage is a magnificent thing.
Positive: Extremely intelligent, logical, fastidious in appearance, efficient
Negative: cold, calculating, tendency to overcomplicate things, egocentric, proud
Yevalee's thoughts: She is, it is hard to describe Sleuth, we have just met and I was not in any state of mind to really think. She is there for me, a warm form against me , loyal, concern, though I really don't know why she thinks the healers were in a conspiracy to harm me.
Why Me?: Yevalee and Sleuth share a certain inability to demonstrate emotion, and she finds something familiar and comforting in that - as well as a love of fashion. Sleuth, however, is a good deal less shallow then her rider - she will always demand the most out of him, and will not let him aim low when he could be doing something more interesting!
