It had taken far too long to get Cora out of the hospital in Mathias' view. Granted, he couldn't really pull any strings or bring Boaz in on anything to get her cleared faster without arousing suspicion of his connections with both the doctor and perhaps other things in the hospital. He had to keep what networks he had from being a Negaverse Officer a secret. So that meant sitting and waiting until the doctors cleared Cora the normal way. But now they were home, and it was taking all of Mathias' will power to keep his hands off of her. She was still in recovery, but you really couldn't tell unless she was stripped down, so it made it difficult for Mathias to keep himself at the lower end of his libido. It also didn't help that the knight from the other night kept popping into his mind. She was a loose string - an unresolved issue that he knew would continue to plague him until he sorted the damn thing out. But the thoughts that came to his mind sent his stomach rolling with their perversions. He was not that type of man. Or was he? It was getting harder and harder to tell where Mathias ended and Leucite began... No matter. He made sure Cora was comfy in the living room and then he moved into the kitchen. "So, what would you like for dinner?"He was going to be the doting boyfriend from now on.

Laying back on the couch, Cora pulls the blanket up to cover herself partially. It was nice to be home, but she also knew Mathias well enough to knwo how hard it was for him at the moment. She could see it just from the look in his eyes. He wanted her, and he couldn't have her. Closing her eyes, she shrugs before she yawns for a second "It doesn't matter to me, surprise me. Truth is, anything sounds great as long as its not hospital food." she laugh just alittle before she falls quiet.
She wasn't asleep, she was just thinking.
The negaverse officer, he was on her mind. Not that she could tell anyone, they would think she gone mad. His kiss, now that she thought about it.
It been a side of her, a rough side of her, that she liked.
She honestly wanted another kiss, and it scared her.
Shaking her head, she opens her eye as she gazed up at the ceiling.
"Hey Mathias, are you okay?" she needed a distraction, so why not get her boyfriend to talk/

"Hmmmmm?" Mathias leaned out of the kitchen long enough to raise a brow at her. "I'm alright, a little grumpy but that will pass." He chuckles a little bit, moving back into the kitchen and putting some water on to boil. He would make pasta - it was filling and it was easy. He wasn't going to go crazy with things. He wasn't in the mood too. He had no desire to exert extra energy right this moment. "How about you? Glad to be home?"

Cora nods slowly before she goes quiet.
Why did it feel so odd to be home? She should be happy, and yet, she felt very alone at the very moment.
Shaking her head, she slips off the couch as she moves towards the bedroom without a word to Mathias. Slipping onto the bathroom, she stood there looking at herself in the mirror. Her hair grew a bit, to the point she would need to cut it if she wanted her pixie cut again. She wore not makeup, and all her metal was gone.
Truth be told, she wasn't even sure she was looking at herself.
Looking away from the mirror, she frowns before slipping onto the bed. Pulling her pillow over her head, she just hide from everything and everyone.

After setting a timer to come and check on the pasta, Mathias made his way out into the living room. He frowned a bit, looking around he moved into the bedroom, noticing that she was curled up on the bed. He walked to her side, sitting lightly on the bed and reaching out to gently rub her side. "What's wrong Cora-bug?" He asked her softly, keeping his touch light so as to not put pressure on her bruises. "Headache?"He hoped she was okay, he didn't want to have to take her back to the ER.

Cora peeks out from under her pillow, shaking her head before coming out of hiding. Laying her head back down, she looks at him before she frown "I hit my head Mathias, I'm not blind...nor stupid. Something bugging you, and if you don't want me to get a headache...you'll tell me. You have been acting odd since we got home. Your in a mood and I keep wondering if you really want me around." she sat up slowly, looking at him.
Her eyes held a hint of sadness in them before she looks down.
"I kept help but think your still angry at me for that night. You know I wouldn't have cancelled on you if it had been anything but the paper." she breathes in long for a moment "I'm sorry...I'm sorry for the stress I put you through that night..."

Mathias sighed, he reached out and gently cups her face in his hands. He leaned in kissing her forehead very softly before he smiles warmly at her. "Cora-bug, I'm not mad at you." He said, honestly. His thumbs gently brushed her cheeks. "I'm mad that it took forever to get you out of the hospital when we both know you'd of recovered better at home. I'm mad at myself for not thinking and calling and asking if you needed a ride that night, and showing up at the paper anyway to pick you up even if you didn't want one."He slowly moved his hands from her face to her sides lightly, pulling her close to him so he could snuggle with her. "I'm mad at the b*****d who hurt you and put you in the hospital. I'm upset that he hasn't been caught and brought to justice."He kisses her softly. "But I'm also happy."He smiles softly at her, rubbing her leg gently. "I'm happy that you're here with me, at home, safe. I'm happy that you're starting to recover. I'm happy that you're out of the hospital."He reaches up and gently tilts her chin up. "So please, Cora-bug, smile for me, and don't be sad."

Cora nods slowly before she curls into him "Darren came and saw me, he still doesn't like you for that one time you went to LARP with me." she laughs before she lays her head on his chest. She kept quiet, thinking over what he said as she listens to his heartbeat,
None of it was his fault, she knew it was her own.
She couldn't give up wanting to learn more about her powered side.
She put him second to a life she was very new to, thanks to a man that right now she wanted to beat up cause she couldn't get him out of her mind.
Glancing towards the door, she chews on her bottom lip before she smiles up to Mathias "Um...nothing gonna burn...is it?"

Mathias shook his head. "No, I have it set on a timer. I'll have to pull it off when the timer goes off, we've got a little while." He smiles, brushing her hair. He leaned in and gave her a gentle kiss. "Oh really? Darren huh? I'm not surprised he doesn't like me, I've always thought he might have a crush on you." He smirked. Not really worried about it. Darren was just a kid after all.

Cora laughs as she pokes him in the side, sitting up for a moment "I've known Darren since he was a kid. Trust me, I'm a sister to him more then anything. Beside apparently he got a girl in trying to impress." she lays her head back down on his chest as she runs her finger over his stomach for a moment.
This was nice, just being able to relax in his arms.
No monitors, no nurses coming in the give her meds.
Closing her eyes, she listens to his heartbeat "I miss this, being with you. I was honestly scared I wouldn't be able to do this for awhile. Remember when I was sixteen and we started dating? Remember when I collasped on the way home?" it was then her fear of hospital started, cause she woke up with no clue as to where she was.
Only to find out she had head trauma after that swim meet thanks to her own mistake. She didn't pay attention and slipped, only to smack her head on the deck. She should have known better, but she didn't listen and kept competing that day.
She spent a week in the hospital.

"Of course I remember you scared the ever living hell outta me," Mathias said, stroking her hair lightly. "I was just glad that your parents were home or I'd of lost it. It was bad enough thinking about possibly losing you."He heard the tell-tale beep from the kitchen and grumbled. "Gimme a sec love, dinner's done." He muttered, kissing the top of her head as he went to go get their food so it wouldn't burn, slowly disentangling himself from her. It didn't take him long - he would be easily heard from in the kitchen, banging around as he made the rest of dinner and then brought her a nice big bowl of pasta and sauce. "Here you go, Cora-bug, thought we'd keep it simple tonight."

Sitting up slowly, Cora curls her feet under her body as she takes the bowl from Mathias "Thank you." she takes a bite, rather glad that this wasn't hospital food. Leaning back against the headstand, she remains quiet for a moment. She was lost in her own thoughts as she looks down at her lap.
Her mind couldn't stop thinking about that kiss, and it was getting to her badly.
Closing her eyes, she instead just leans against Mathias as she continues to eat. She just needed to knwo he was there, and needed his comfort for the moment.
No words needed.

Mathias was a little glad that she wasn't in the mood to talk - it wasn't that he wasn't, it was just that it allowed him to think about things, plan. He disliked leaving her alone after the incident, but there was little other choice in the matter. He couldn't use his resources to watch the place 24/7 that would be a waste of time and energy. He snuggled her close though, keeping an arm around her loosely as they ate. He eventually leaned over and gently kissed the top of her head, just reminding her that he was in fact, there and awake. It was nice, to have some semblance of normalcy for once. Maybe they could maintain it...
