Nickname: Lovely or Love. Sometimes Lovey. But mostly Lovely. His mother started calling him that when he was a baby and it ended up sticking. Yes, he will introduce himself that way. No, he doesn't think its silly, and if you try to make fun of him for it he might just punch you in the face. If for some reason you can't bring yourself to call him Lovely, he'll also respond to Leigh.

Fav. Food: Potatoes. Baked, roasted, boiled, made into soup, cut into fries, or shredded into hash-browns, he loves potatoes. He also adores sweets but doesn't like to admit it because he thinks it's rather childish. He is particularly fond of the delicious treats found at a local French Patisserie.
Hated Food: Overly greasy foods. Anything of a questionable consistency. If he can't tell what it was made of or what might be hiding in it, he won't eat it.
School: Azure Valley. He hates the focus on tech and science, but as its better than the alternatives of Meadowview and Hillworth, he tolerates attending.
Hobbies: Artistic Exploration – Lovely likes to think of himself as an artist, and with the amount of time and passion he puts into his endeavors one might actually expect him to succeed. That is, if he was any good. Unfortunately he's missing the key ingredient of any good artist—talent. Dedication and zeal he might have in spades, and the interest and appreciation for the arts is certainly there. He's taken up many artistic pursuits in an effort to find his niche. Model building, pottery, painting,
acting, but he hasn't yet managed to find the right fit. The model ships he builds somehow always look mangled, his attempts at pottery likewise; his paintings are indecipherable (he claims that's the point and that people simply don't appreciate a good abstract) and otherwise unremarkable, and his acting is down right
terrible. His mother once told him his paintings were better than his acting. Lovely thought she might have meant it as a compliment.
Horseback Riding – At least in this Lovely seems to know what he's doing. His art may be an acquired taste (to put things kindly), but his skills on horseback are truly something to behold. Graceful and confident, he might almost seem
impressive if he cared to make a show of it. Though he enjoys his time at the stables, Lovely insists riding is little more than a hobby and therefore only worth pursuing as a way to pass the time. He neglects competitions and rides only for the peace and tranquility inherent in the bond of understanding between human and animal. Lovely has a horse of his very own (his mother thought it might distract him from his fruitless attempts at becoming an artist), but thinks of her more as a very dignified pet than anything else.
Piano – Considering his absolutely appalling attempts at anything else artistic, one might expect that Lovely lack an ear for music. They would be wrong. Unfortunately (and there are many 'unfortunately's when it comes to Lovely), Lovely doesn't even realize that its in music where his true talent lies. He began playing the piano when he was very young, and though he keeps up with his practice to this day and has won a variety of showcase awards and achievements, the fact that it wasn't anything he chose for himself but was instead encouraged and “forced upon him” (or so he likes to say) by his mother means he thinks little of the success. Lovely claims the he is mediocre at best. In reality he could be considered a bit of a prodigy.
Fencing – Lovely took up fencing last year because he was tired of being thought of as a baby and figured some sort of martial art might help him come across as less of the delicate flower his looks give the impression of and more of the badass he
thinks knows himself to be. Hand-to-hand combat didn't exactly strike him as appealing, though. Fencing, on the other hand, seemed to him to be both graceful and sophisticated, and swords are pretty cool, right? (Of course, it's not as if he's ever used more than a foil.) Lovely is fairly decent at it and enjoys the practice. If he has to work up a sweat, at least he can do so by doing something he can consider dignified.
Virtues: Loyal – Though Lovely isn't really all that interested in making friends, or even good at doing so should he happen to try, he is at least loyal to the ones he has. He struggles to maintain his distance from people and tends to approach many situations with arrogance if not outright disdain, but he has a habit of forming strong emotional bonds without even realizing it. Lovely might not always be completely understanding, and he may occasionally view his friends more as possessions than peers of equal standing, but his willingness to stand by them (even at the worst of times) once they've managed to earn his respect or affection can seem almost stubborn. Besides, if someone can put up with his odd quirks and dreadful attitude, he figures they deserve a bit of his respect. For a friend Lovely would overlook their flaws, or at least make an effort to help them improve upon them. Lovely doesn't tolerate betrayal or neglect and therefore makes every effort to be attentive and dependable. He would fight tooth and nail for his friends, often to his own detriment; he puts his all into everything that he does for them, approaching his friendships with diligence, determination, and dedication.
Expressive – Lovely doesn't think this should count as a virtue; he would much rather be more in control of his emotions and project an aloof demeanor. Other people, however, tend to appreciate his emotional expressiveness; if he bottled them up, few people would ever know what he was thinking or feeling, as he prefers not to talk about uncomfortable things like
feelings. Instead, his emotions tend to show quite clearly on his face, and his actions often speak louder than his words; his expressions are open and honest, his actions likewise. Unless they're terrible at reading body language or facial cues, few people have to make a guess as to what Lovely might be thinking or feelings. His is a passionate soul overly concerned with appearances, struggling to maintain control and dignity while unknowingly projecting everything. Lovely wears his heart on his sleeve and his feelings quite plainly on his face.
Responsible – While his peers are busy dating and experimenting with the drugs and alcohol they're not quite old enough for yet, Lovely is focused on his schoolwork and his dreams of becoming an artist (steeped in eventual failure though the latter might be). He insists he simply doesn't have the time for such petty (and illegal) pastimes and acts as if he looks down upon such things. The truth is he's afraid of straying off of the safe, comfortable path he's made for himself. In reality he's a bit jealous of anyone who shows the ability to let loose, though he'd never think to admit it. The only time he's ever drunk alcohol is the wine his mother and older brothers let him have at holiday dinner parties. And sometimes he thinks it might be nice to have a girlfriend if only for the attention he'd gain from it, but in observing other people's relationships it seems to him to be too much of an effort. Instead, he focuses on what's familiar, living his life in a way that is both focused and driven, intent upon improving himself as an individual in whatever manner he feels is acceptable. Lovely is an excellent student with an impressive academic record and an obedient son and brother who gives his family very little reason to worry. He sets high standards for himself, and strives always to meet them.
Flaws: Arrogant – Lovely thinks very highly of himself (but then considering he introduces himself as “Lovely” that probably doesn't come as too much of a surprise). Simply put, Lovely expects to have his way. The truth of the matter is that Lovely is an abysmally spoiled child grown into an arrogant and forceful teenager intent on getting whatever he wants out of life. He looks down his nose at most people (figuratively if he's not tall enough to do so literally, and even then he tries his damnedest to make it work), has nothing against bossing people around, shouts over people when he thinks they're wrong, and pushes and shoves however much he has to to get his point across. For someone of his (self-professed) sophisticated tastes and the (self-proclaimed) mature attitude with which he faces the world, Lovely behaves like the big-headed teenager he truly is. His arrogance often leads to bouts of over-confidence. Lovely is therefore fairly susceptible at getting in over his head.
Spiteful – Though Lovely looks sweet and is entirely capable of presenting himself that way under the right circumstances, he can also be incredibly
mean. He doesn't bother to hold back his dislike and is intentionally rude to those who've worked their way onto his bad side. He can find fault in almost anyone and anything and makes even minor transgressions seem like major catastrophes. Lovely doesn't know the meaning of “constructive” criticism and refuses to sugarcoat, with the result that he tends to come across as exceedingly negative whenever he disapproves of someone or something. His insults are never lacking in bite either—rather, Lovely aims as low as he can possibly go. Grudges are his friends more than people are. Once someone has done him a great wrong, he just can't seem to let things go. He doesn't know the meaning of “forgive and forget.” After all, if someone's crossed him once, chances are they're only going to do it again. Lovely has the habit of brooding when things don't go his way, lashing out when stressed, and he has a bit of a snappish attitude when challenged.
Transparent – Lovely is incapable of hiding anything. Half the time he doesn't want to, making his opinions known loud and clear (and boy is he loud). The rest of the time he simply can't seem to keep things to himself, no matter how hard he may (or may not) try to. Lovely can't keep secrets, so it's never a good idea to share any with him; it isn't that he
wants to tell (not
all the time), but he tends to respond with the sort of smug, knowing smiles that make it obvious he knows something. And if a revelation might win him some much desired attention, he might just reconsider the merits of keeping his silence if you're not one of those lucky few he considers a friend. Lovely finds it difficult to conceal his thoughts and emotions even in the event that he wants to. He isn't very skilled at telling lies either; more often than not the truth is going to be written right there across his face. Lovely's passion and emotional expressiveness make him honest to a fault, sometimes by not choice of his own.
Physical Description:Eyes: Lovely's eyes area a soft purple that would seem quite at odds with his acerbic nature if they weren't often narrowed in a show of arrogance. They are very expressive. Without such a moody disposition his eyes would show themselves to be large yet striking, perhaps deserving of the silly moniker he's owned since early childhood.
Hair: Lovely keep a noticeable length to his
blond hair and has developed what he thinks is a chic
shaggy style. He's developed an annoying habit of tossing his head in a manner he thinks is impressive, often flicking his long bangs back in a show of disdain.
Face: Despite being mid-way through his course toward adulthood, Lovely still posses the softly rounded and youthful look of adolescence. Beneath a bit of lingering baby-fat are hints of very fine features just starting to mature. His nose is slim and slightly upturned, his lips full and often petulantly pouty, and the developing line of his jaw can only be described as graceful. Lovely has earned the reputation of being a bit of a pretty boy and he plays the part accordingly.
Clothes: When not in his school uniform, Lovely makes sure to dress in a style he believes to be the epitome of masculine sophistication. He likes to pretend he doesn't own a single pair of jeans (he does, but he's never worn them) and instead dons slacks, dress shirts, cardigans, and pull-over sweaters. Lovely always looks well put together and neatly pressed. He prefers clothing in blues and purples.
