After running into Virgo not ONCE but TWICE in the last week, Bo had Serenade on his mind more than ever. It was not possible to look at another Zodiac and not be flooded with memories of her. She had been in his dreams, too, though she was always there, always ebbing in and out of his consciousness. It was with that feeling pressing against his chest that Bo decided to actually do something about it. He was too poor to fly to Switzerland or wherever her school was, not to mention he couldn't remember where it was, or what it's name was. The last few times he had gone to the Surrounding in search of her, she was nowhere to be found either.

That left him with only one, miserable option: find his stupid cellphone.

It took four hours of focus on one task for Bo to up-end his apartment and locate the rogue device. When he finally found it, it was shut inside an old VHS case of The Little Mermaid that he had purchased at a yard sale. He couldn't for the life of him remember what had caused him to stash it there, but it had been lost nearly one month ago -- which was also the last time he had managed to talk to Serenade. It had been a text message.

When he found the phone, he plugged it in and was delighted to see that it still worked! (The only reason it still had service was because his parents continued to pay for it.) The crappy flip phone chugged to life and hundreds of text messages sprang to life on his screen. The vast majority were people inviting him to parties, followed by girls he had either been seeing or was trying to see, followed by random texts from people he had apparently met and then promised favors to at some point.

Then he found Serenade's.

In a flash, he shot her a message. She told him that they could talk really cheaply using something called Skype. Unfortunately, Bo did not own a computer and had no idea what Skype was. He promised her he find out by the time she got out of her next class. Flying around Destiny City, Bo finally found himself in a CyberCafe in a predominantly Asian part of town. The only time he had been there before was for karaoke.

The attendant answered his 5000 questions, helped him create a Skype account, loaned him a pair of headphones, helped him add the username that Serenade had given him, and then told him: "You just have to wait until she signs on now."

So Bo waited.

When her name finally popped into existence on his buddy list, Bo nearly toppled a table signaling for the attendant. When the man hurried over, the lanky boy muttered and apology and said, "Sorry, this is a really important call." A screen popped up with his video playing in a box labeled bothinksyouareawesome (his username) above it. He waited, drumming his fingers on the table, for Serenade to answer his call.

The truth was she hadn't been to the Surrounding quite lately.

Things were getting busy in college; having to prepare for upcoming recitals, meeting deadlines for music composition classes and more had left her no choice but reducing her visits down to popping in briefly once a week at best just to make a quick check. But of course, there was always the guilt. She had known that she was being selfish. It certainly wasn't something she was going to deny blindly, because she had made the choice and there was no going back.

It was one day, after she had been nodding off into dreamland while pages of half scribbled music sheets lay before her, that her phone suddenly buzzed and jolted her awake. Startled, she had scrambled for her phone; white with a golden circle with the twelve zodiac signs as her phone case, and found herself melting into a smile when she had seen whom it was from.

Serenade Soriano had, admittedly, never been great with keeping up with people. She wasn't the one that would initiate conversations and would hold up a witty and particularly interesting one to follow it up. She was a recluse, an introvert whose phone would hardly buzz every hour or so like many others did.

But it didn't mean she didn't care, and that she didn't want to see any of them again. It made her happier than anything else that they still accepted her, missed her, and it was also Bo, of all people. Bo, a ray of sunshine and happiness whom she felt she hadn't seen in forever.

And so, when they had made a pact to have a Skype call. Serenade's username was 'chronosonata' and the application beeped, prompting her to answer his call. It didn't take long for her to move her mouse and click on the button to accept his call, and soon, her face beamed at him from the computer screen. "Hi!" Her long seafoam green hair messily twisted up into a bun and she was dressed in pastel sweater; with color blocks of beige, brown and pink with patterned with bows and hearts. "Can you hear me?"

When Serenade's face filled the screen, Bo was washed in warmth. It floored him, filled his veins, made his heart beat harder, his muscles flex and unflex. It was the same feeling he got every time he powered up during summer. He could feel the thrum of his sphere's domain in the very essence of the world around him. There was no greater time in the than summer, and there was no greater face in the world than Serenade's, no greater person.

His fingers reached out and bumped the screen, as if to hug her. The attendant shot a glare at him and said, "Don't touch the screen." But Bo barely registered him.

Instead, Bo leaned so close to the camera that for awhile it was just his eye and nose filling the screen. "I can hear you -- and might I just say that it is the loveliest sound I have heard in a long time. Like birds or something," he said, finally easing back into his chair. "You look so good and like you. And you're here! How are you -- is it cold there -- Switzerland? Sweden? -- you're in a sweater. Hi, also hi."

Bo had a lot to say.

She could not help smiling, teeth showing, as Bo leaned forward in his excitement. But that was the general effect that Bo had on people. His sphere had indeed been very apt for his personality; he was the bright yellow sun that was full of warmth, and would bring light to all those he came in contact with. Even with computer screen separating them and miles between their actual positions, she could still feel his very exuberance as if he was in her very dorm room. "It's nice to see you too." She said, touching her screen gently where the image of his cheek was.

And then Serenade blinked. Switzerland? "I'm still in America, Bo." Oh gosh, had her information not been disseminated properly? Maybe she should have done it better, but Serenade had been awkward at the thought of mass goodbyes. After all, she wasn't leaving forever. "New York, really. It's just that the facility can get pretty cold here. Generally, instruments have to be kept in a temperature regulating environment cause temperature affects the frequency of a musical note, and fluctuations would then cause pitching problems especially for the wind and string instruments..." She paused, a sheepish look upon her face. "This is awfully boring, isn't it?"

She pulled her legs up; encased in pale pink to white ombre tights, and hugged them to her chest. "I want to know how you're doing. How have you been? Anything interesting you've been doing?" The life of a Princess Senshi was anything but normal, but Serenade Soriano the music college student had a dreary life, or so she thought it would seem to others.

It was not entirely uncommon for Bo to get information mixed up. He didn't honestly know where he had pulled Switzerland from. Maybe Elke? Had Elke been there? Who could say. All he knew was that any distance that Serenade was away from him was too much. NYC might as well be Switzerland. "Ah, the Big Apple, the City that Never Sleeps, the NYC to our DC," he rolled off quickly, his words jumping in before her.

Serenade could read the items on a menu to Bo, and he would still be transfixed. "You? Boring? Impossible. Tell me more about the temperatures and things," he quipped, shooting her a playful wink.

When Serenade tried to steer the conversation back toward Bo, he quite obviously and not-smoothly-at-all avoided it... by pretending he hadn't heard her at all. "Tell me about your classes. Question 1 -- how are they? Are you a musical prodigy yet? More importantly, question 2 -- when will you be back in DC? Do you get the summer off? You know how I love summer. We will go to all the beaches (and you know I mean all the beaches). Elke, too. Elke is back." Talking about himself would mean mentioning the showdown at the factory, but that didn't concern him as much as Elke's mental state did. Bo certainly didn't want to have Serious Talk with his princess, but it was his duty to keep her informed... at least as much as his personality would allow.

There was a small smile as he mentioned the nicknames of the city she currently resided in. The City that Never Sleeps, indeed. She hadn't been getting as much sleep as she would like; relying on lattes to inject some energy into her being.

Rattling off how temperature could affect the tuning of instruments had not been a conversations she thought she would have when Bo asked to have a talk with her. She could do it, of course, but she still didn't want to bore him, even when he assured her otherwise.

"They're fine! Just have loads of practice; I still need to get some pieces right, and composing can be a nightmare, when the inspiration doesn't come." It was like writer's block, but Serenade supposed that in this case, it was composing block. Music block. Something along those lines. "We get summer off, yes! I'll be back in DC then, and beach time sounds lovely."

Elke was back? The green-haired girl immediately perked up at the mention of her former roommate. "She is? How is she?"

We get summer off... I'll be back in DC then...

Bo's mouth suddenly went dry. Serenade... back? Like, back in a day-to-day basis? As if he wasn't impatient for summer before. "Then we will definitely do that, the moment you get back. I will consider your presence an early birthday gift. Synchronize your watches." Bo didn't own a watch. Time was relative to him. He still made a show of tapping at his wrist.

The subject of Elke was not as positive. It wasn't in Bo's nature to worry, but that being said, he had feelings about how Virgo was doing. "She looks great," Bo piped up. There was an awkward pause. "You should probably talk to her. She could use face time with you maybe more than me." Reading between the lines: She is not okay. You need to help her, like, yesterday.

But all Bo did was smile and give her a thumbs up. "After this big warehouse battle, I got beer and oysters with her and Finn," he added.
