He was already beat to hell when he popped into existence in the alleyway below his apartment. The pain in his side had eased, and he was sure he wasn't sporting broken ribs, but his nose was definitely broken, and he could feel the bruise forming in his left eye. He shifted the smelling appendage, cursing as he attempted to crunch it into place. Like hell he was going to have it set funky and all bulbous.
Jarosite wiped the blood dripping down his face with his sleeve. That whole mission was a disgrace to the Negaverse. That whole mission was a disgrace to the Earth itself, and he hoped to Metallia he got the chance to slam his fist into Bischofite's face. And pull out those damn wings. Or perhaps just his starseed, if there was anything left of it. At best, he had maybe a few days before that could be arranged though. The now... ex-general or was he still a general even as a full youma, would need to be detained, punished and smacked around by the General Kings first. Hopefully.
HIs bigger issue was the Mars b***h. She was just as infuriating as she had been the first time around, and then seemed to actively search him out the rest of the damn mission. He looked up and suddenly she was there. He turned around and there she was. She was like that zit on your forehead that was just off center enough where it was noticeably out of place, that took four drainings, ten days of ache spot treatment, and three weeks to finally get rid of.
And how he wanted to pop her little head.
He had enough energy and awareness to feel the aura of order moving towards him and he snarled. At least there wasn't fire here. At least he could bash her face in with the wall and maybe, maybe then she'd get the message.
b***h was persistant though.xKaefaux He's aannnngry. Let the beatings commence! "

Had it been the easiest thing to convince Ashur to let her go back to her apartment? No, not really. Alone? Even worse. But she'd stressed the potential oddities if they both went in black and blue--noting how he'd even joked about it as they'd left the warehouse--and finally her annoyance and pain at having to walk to the hospital. Then back home. Her car would be better, since she would be out of uniform anyways for obvious reasons. He'd relented, consented, and they'd parted on smiles and laughs.
Her side was still aching, to the point that it was dawning on her that she perhaps had gotten herself into a bit of trouble there. How bad were fractured ribs? They weren't all out broken, were they? She didn't feel anything moving... but then, she couldn't put much pressure there for long without wincing at the pain.
In truth, she hadn't meant to follow the Captain.
She'd felt the Chaos energy signature and after a moment of wavering, followed it. She wasn't sure her intentions. Ask about what the ******** had just happened at the rooftop then the warehouse? Ask what had happened to that guy? Maybe just beat the s**t out of them. She could tell they were stronger than her. When did that calculate in her mind?
She strolled forward with a frown on her face and red eyes gleaming. She was ready for a fight, ready for a confrontation.
Yet she hadn't been ready for him.
The moment her eyes fell upon that far too familiar blue and black form, her eyes narrowed and her frown deepened. Didn't snarl. Didn't speak. Just watched him. Stood straight, despite the ache in her side. In that moment, she was willing to walk away. The question was, was he?
the_scowling_cat We all know the answer to that question: NOPE

He turned and his silver eyes met hers for a moment. It seemed to stretch for a while. He was aware of his breathing, the pounding of his heart. Jarosite figured he had maybe one, maybe two more teleports in his energy reserves before he'd pass out. From this distance, if he got a running start and teleported into her face, he'd probably break her jaw. His mind ran over possible fight tactics and how best to take her down. With each breath his plan changed. With each heart beat he poured rage and anger into his limbs.
He stood up from his crouch to his full height, coat moving as wind moved through the alleyway. He could simply walk away. He could teleport upstairs and be done with this. Here, just the two of them, he could be the bigger man and count her beneath him.
Jarosite felt his hands fill with his daggers, not realizing he'd summoned them. He stared at her over his collar. He could end this now, simply by walking off on her.
But that wasn't quite Jarosite's style.
The moment shattered.
A grin broke out over his collar and he spun on the ball of his feet. His coat barely settled behind him before he shot forward, a dagger aimed for her side. He said nothing to her, letting his fighting do the talking.

Her body language didn't shift even as he stood, or the daggers appeared in his hands. Lax. At attention. She didn't glance away, didn't turn. She just... watched him. Waited. She didn't know why she put the ball in his court, and yet. That was exactly what she'd done. Instead of turning away--running away--she'd stood there like a statue. Glaring. Waiting.
Did she expect him to turn away? Maybe. They were both not at their best after what had happened. Her perhaps worse than he. But something kept her spine straight, her feet fastened to the ground in a balanced stance. Unmoving. Unwilling to turn.
It was perhaps the only thing that saved her when he came barreling towards her. Faster than she'd anticipated--faster than her--he shot forward. She only had time for a single "Fine--!" before her right arm turned, taking the slash from his dagger--and buckling under the pressure of the blade.
Stars sparked in front of her eyes. Pain erupted above her elbow and trailed down. Diagonal. Towards her torso. Themiscyra spun in the opposite direction, a near three-sixty, shifting her weight on her feet to send her left leg out at the Captain's side in turn. Packing as much weight and momentum as she could into the roundhouse kick.

The blade hit and he watched the arm buckle. Wonderful. He pulled his arm back as he threw the opposite on forward, aiming for her ribs again. The page spun then, and he watched as her hair, then her back appeared to him. He took the leg into his side with a grunt and let her shift him to the side. He growled and rolled with the kick. It was going to leave a bruise and his side ached with each breath he took. Bruised into the ribs, perhaps.
She had a powerful kick, he'd give her that.
But he was far more powerful than she was.
Fingers spun his blades into a reverse grip and he feinted a punch to her face with his left hand. His right foot came up as counter balance and he swung it forward towards her hip in a front kick. His eyes tightened and he felt the daggers vibrate softly in his fingers. Good, she could use a bit of numbing.
The corner of his mouth twitched into a smirk. He wondered what she could do if her arms or throat were numb.
Kaefaux His blades will now numb portions of her body (about a five in radius around the impact site) for ten seconds! Be waaarned.

The pain in her right arm was a few notches up from the burning pain in her ribs. She wondered if his blade had done more damage than she'd realized to the joint. She couldn't move it. Or at least she didn't think she could. Didn't want to take the chance to glance down at the injury, see how bad the damage was. For now she tried to pull it back up in a defensive stance, aware that even jostling it sent more stars through her vision. Moving it didn't do much better. Gritting her teeth, she even was dimly aware of air against her right side. Ignored it, put it to the back of her mind. Had more pressing issues. Like the Negaverse agent with knives in front of her.
One that absorbed her kick like it was near nothing. Pride sparked, something burned. Themiscyra was not weak. That was one thing she knew for a ******** fact. She wasn't a tiny waif of a thing, wasn't dainty or petite. She was tall, she had muscles. She sent other players skidding across the ice in hockey, even under all that padding and weight. She wasn't weak.
Her eyes snapped to the hand coming for her face, and she pivoted away, bringing up her other fist in turn aiming for his elbow. Trying to pack enough force to see if she could break it. Left her too open for the kick to her hip, and she could hear the sound of fabric ripping under the harsh pressure of his boot shredding the toga against the harsher material of the leather armor dress beneath. Her hip hurt, but she managed to stay on her feet. Even if she had to dance back a few steps to somewhat keep her balance before her spread leg stance was back. There was no denying the pain though. Or the sight of blood splattered on the alley floor back where she'd just been standing.
the_scowling_cat To explain: His strike to her ribs cracked her leather armor/ripped her toga, but it isn't an omfg EXPOSED point/hit point yet! Can't make it TOO easy for him ;o

Huh. The armor cracked. He watched the shreds of the toga flap in the wind as she danced away from him. The red that stained the concrete caught his eye next. The grin on his face widened to cheshire proportions. He'd made her bleed. He'd drawn blood and she was retreated from him now, for space if nothing else.
Jarosite could continue his relentless assault on her and turn the alley red with her blood. He would waste his energy, teleport behind her and slam her into the concrete. He could shove his hand into her chest and crush her soul. He could end her, here and now. He could end this farse here and be done with it.
There was something much, much worse he could do to her instead.
He took a few steps back, planted his feet into the ground in a rooting stance and brought his arms up over his chest and face. Jarosite smirked at her from behind his arms and simply made a "come here" motion with his fingers.
Might as well tire her out before finishing up the battle. Kaefaux Jarosite is in Defense Mode. Wail on him as you wish.

She kept telling herself she wasn't weak, she wasn't pathetic. A retreat when necessary wasn't a horrible sign. The Negaverse Captain took steps back himself, and Themiscyra allowed herself a blink. A stare. He smirked. He challenged her. Her lips pressed together--tighter than they already were against the pain in her arm and the pain in her chest each time she took a breath. He was baiting her. She knew it. She could ******** tell. Yet she still took some of the jagged cloth of her toga and ripped it further, wrapping the long stream of cloth around her injured arm. Regretted it instantly. ******** hurt. The cloth grated against the cut, exposed flesh. She'd gotten a glance at what the Captain had done, and had to will her stomach to keep still. The flesh was torn. Jagged. A gash lay open and bleeding from just above her elbow, curving in a diagonal down a good few inches across the top of her forearm. Took a bit of binding before she was sure it was covered.
Wasn't the easiest thing to then bend the limb, but she managed.
Themiscyra smirked back, metal bracers catching the limited light and glinting with the symbol of Mars as she brought up her fists. More blood spattered the ground where she stood now. She could feel some drops across her bare leg. This wound was going to need stitches--a hell of a lot of them--once she got out of this.
Because there was no if in her mind. Only when.
Smirking, she charged, fainting a strike straight for his arms, before jumping and twisting at the last second. Aiming her kick straight for his head. Fists ready to slam into him if he caught hold of her. If she had her way, the Captain would be as ******** black and blue as his outfit.

Being a rank above her gave Jarosite a few advantages. He kept himself aware of her, much more than he could do in an offensive stance. She was bleeding from a nasty gash that wasn't going to heal nicely. She swung her fists at his arms, only to jump and aim her leg and foot into his head. He lifted one arm, catching the leg with it. Jarring pain shot down his limb and he mentally cursed.
He really needed to invest in arm guards if he was going to catch the kicks of a hundred pound girl with his forearms. He shoved her leg away, dragging the magic infused blade along her mostly bare shin. Arms went back into that defensive stance and he smirked again.
The Captain toyed with saying something to her, but where was the fun in that?

Briefly, she wondered if she'd get lucky and would have broken his arm. Likely not, but a girl could dream. She didn't hear a snap or a crack. She didn't feel it buckle under her hit. Or at least not enough to give her a clear new opening. Instead, he'd taken advantage of the situation. Shoved her away, and though she did what she could to try and keep one leg under her, had almost anticipated the blade...
She wasn't anticipating magic. Cursing, she fumbled. Managed to catch herself on her good leg--but the other was... ********. Numb? A large section of it was, starting just above her knee and going up along her thigh. The gash wasn't as deep as the one on her arm, from what she'd briefly seen, but the semi-dull blade could still rip with enough force applied. And apparently ******** numb her. Themiscyra's lips pulled back in a snarl as she shifted her weight onto her good leg, not sure if she should trust the other with weight.
Cute trick. ******** adorable. And this guy was, according to the Code, a knight? ******** that. ******** all of that. As red eyes bore into grey, she didn't harbor even a moment's thought of if this agent would ever purify, ever do what was right. Crouching--bitterly, painfully--Themiscyra for a moment looked as if she might be trying to catch her breath, and in a sense, she was.
Debris. Dirt. Pebbles. Rocks. Bits of broken pavement and tar and whatever the ******** else was on the alley floor. She grabbed a fistful in time as shoved herself to her feet in a charge back towards the Captain. Her leg ******** hurt, but not as bad as her ribs or her arm. Trying to faint into a half-circle around him, she threw her free hand in a punch towards his gut again--her injured arm, the one that was screaming and risking to make her pass out. Too much blood. Cloth's ******** wet. Too much blood.
And threw the fist with the debris straight for his face, hoping to use a distraction to give herself some form of edge.
She ignored the roar in her ears. Something in her... was rather furious how this battle was going.

( It was ironic really. This man had been a knight, had the potential in his star seed, but he'd been just of a jerk as he was now. To her, no less. Well her past self, anyway. He'd jeered her and passively denied her existence until they brawled and she denied him from the planet entirely. It's really only fitting these two now duke it out, again.
Not, of course, did either of them knew that, but it was rather interesting. )
He blocked the fist to his stomach, grabbing it and deflecting it to the side. It was weak, given the injuries, and it gave him a sense of acomplishment he'd mede the b***h bleed. Jarosite sneered down at her, deciding whether to simply fling her into the alley wall and be done with it, or shove his other hand in her chest and toy with her star seed. Not corrupt her, no, but stroke it intimately while applying a gentle pressure to it, just enough to make her scream.
He dropped his guard in his mild planning and a fist came flying to his face.
The debris in her hand hit him more than her fist. He grunted, feeling the rocks cut his face and the hot wet substance that was his blood roll down to his chin. She'd caught him on the cheekbone and a multi-gash spanned from just under the middle of his left eye almost to his nose, and was at least three gashes wide. He let go of her, half tossing her away, and pressed his fingers to his face. It hurt like hell and he felt a pebble roll among the broken flesh. The Captain snarled and fished it out, his hand and jacket sleeve now covered in blood.
No. No intimate stroking of her star seed for him. Not now. He was going to make her hurt, then leave her to wallow in her own defeat. That would be the best way to break her.
Jarosite moved up to her and sent his foot flying for her chest, a la 300 "THIS IS SPARTA" style.
Kaefaux Feel free to say when yer good with the beatings and wish him to sneer over her and walk off.

Everything sort of blurred after he'd knocked away her punch. She remembered clearly the sickening sensation of weakness, weak, <******** why that had stormed her systems, even as her pathetic cheap attack managed to at least scratch him.
The roaring in hear ears increased, the blood pounding as adrenaline faltered. She hadn't moved fast enough, his foot catching her square in the chest--a feat, considering her six-foot status.
The impact against her solar plexus crushed the air out of her lungs, knocking the Page backwards as she toppled to the bloody pavement. Sucking in air that wouldn't come, the fists that collided with her back and shoulders, boots that crashed against her chest and sides--already splitting in pain and torn flesh--sent sparks and neon flares across her vision.
She'd fought back of course, nails and fists and leverage when she managed to get her injured leg under her. But fists were deflected or ignored, and each attempt at getting back up denied with blows or more stolen air.
Themiscyra was clawing for a way back up, back out. Danika was trying to comprehend how she'd misjudged this fight so ******** badly.
How badly did it hurt to have someone rip out your starseed?
It seemed, in her addled mindset, that the very thought summoned something she hadn't anticipated. Breath. Shuttering breaths racked her body and made her regret instantly the need for such expansions of her ribcage. No more fists and feet came at her. Just barely over her own heavy breathing, she could hear his pants. Not jagged like hers. Just exertion.
He'd said something. Or maybe he'd only made a sound.
Yet she could have sworn. Somewhere over the twisted breaths and broken bones and mangled flesh. She'd heard him say something.
Dim red eyes registered, one part blasphemy, one part relief, as he turned.
And walked away.
