Aki Seo was walking through the forest. It had been a rather pleasant day, and he had wanted to explore the kingdom beyond. It didn't seem right, all the things he had heard about it. How could a kingdom be solely evil or the servants of evil? There was definitely more than just brainwashed civilians, surely. No kingdom would last and prosper if there wasn't at least a few people who thought differently.
He was simply walking, that is, until he heard the rapid crunching behind him. He turns, eyes widening, and then he runs. He curses mentally as he runs. The forest was supposed to be safe today! Why the hell was there a monster here? He hadn't even brought a weapon. This was bad. And if he died... how would someone, anyone, be able to explain why his body had been in the forest, already so close to the border? Unless they never found his body, but somehow, that idea was even worse. Now muttering the curses under his breath. some of them so vulgar a peasant couldn't outdo them, and many of them in different languages, he picks up his pace, not caring that he was gaining scrapes and cuts from the whipping branches of the tree. He just had to get away.
Sword trailing lazily behind in Henry strolled the forest. It was a slow day usually he had slain SOME animal by this time of day but today something was off. It was boring for henry. He bites his lip cuffs and hears something running towards him.Henry listens in silence, even his breathing was silenced. He had become a shadow. As the man approached Henry grabbed the him and moved him to the side and thrusts his sword as deep into the beast as far as it would go. He grunts and soon it was over and Henry was panting. " That wasn't as eventful as I thought." he turned to what he thought a run away female and was stopped in his tracks realizing it was a male. " You okay?" he looks the boy over, he was obviously younger than henry. Taking a deep breath Henry shifts before the boy had even said something Henry naturally liked him. The way the sun fell on the boy's silvery hair and blue eyes was kind to Henry's eyes. What is he doing in the forest anyway?
Aki makes a short sound of surprise as he's grabbed by some stranger and pulled off to the side. He instinctively clutches at the one who moves him in an attempt to gain son control, though he knew, in some other, separate part of his mind, that he didn't need to. He was safe now. He sees the sword plunge into the beast and then pull back, quickly and efficiently. He looks at the one who had saved him, breathing hard, and attempts to thank him. His words fail him the first time, so he tries to catch his breath, holding up a hand to show that he wasn't ignoring him.
"I-I'm fine. Thank you." He says. "I just wasn't expecting anything, so I came here unprepared." His breathing was still slightly ragged from running for so long and so hard, but he was slowly regaining control of his body. At least his shaking had stopped. He looks over the one who had saved him, then realizes he was still holding onto the other male's sleeve. He lets go quickly. "I'm Aki. I was on my way to the village on the other side- my aunt lives there- when I was attacked." He tells the story he had been planning on saying in the event that he got caught by a stranger. Luckily, he wasn't wearing formal clothes, but rather the clothes of a wealthy village boy, who had been more than willing to trade.
Henry pushed his sword into the ground and wiped his bloodied hand on his pants. It felt good to be messy and dirty sometimes. He looked at the boys hand confused it wasn't a normal gesture, but he was happy to divert his attention from the hand to Aki's voice." What a pity I wouldn't do that in the spring. Animals are being born and mothers are hungry from lots of sleep." He informs the boy calmly though he was frantic inside; wondering who told him he shouldn't have expecting anything at this time of year. With the small silence he glanced at his arm as well and laughed lightly at the male. Little shaken still,Henry didn't quiet understand the boys fear he was too used to fighting fears. " hello Aki, " henry says retrieving his story that he never used to use as he'd never ran into anyone here before. " I'm Henry sent by the king to protect the smaller villages towards this side of the kingdom." He pulls his sword back from the ground. Henry wasn't completely lying no just twisting some of the truth and not telling the whole story. " Do you need assistance back? "The boy seemed scattered and he felt bad. He also needed to get the beast to a village for food and hide to be prepared. Henry bites his lip cuff and smiles slightly.
Aki's eyes widen, showing his ignorance of the outside world. That spring was the most dangerous... the thought surprised him. "I would have thought..." His voice trails off and he falls silent shortly afterward. No, his thought, now that he really thought it out, did not make sense. He had simply ignored the senseless nature of it before going off to check the other side out. His eagerness had blinded him.
My father sent him? Aki wonders, thinking it was strange. Henry did not sound like a name from his kingdom, but then again, he might have come from a border town. The names often became interchangeable there. But it didn't matter. He bites his lip at the offer, realizing that not only had he been foolishly thickheaded on the way here, but also that he had lost his way while running from the beast. And now everywhere looked the same. He nods slowly. "...Yes... thank you." He says. looking a little embarrassed. He seemed to only be showing Henry his weaknesses.
{ooc: sorry it's so late; i was helping family move and got home at like midnight, utterly exhausted}
Henry looked in the other direction. He'd been close to the other kingdom but wasn't suppose to go...but he had to keep his cover. Henry nods. " Name of the town do you remember? "He flashes Aki a smile and immediately after fixes his eye patch. Henry was pretty amazed he wasn't recognized. No he wasn't one to venture into the other kingdoms villages but sworn enemy nature , he thought, you'd know who it was you hated the second you saw them, yet he had no beef against this strange yet he was just a commoner...He could keep one a secret." its okay if not I could just drop you off on the edge, no need to push you, you seem still shaken." Henry was curious. he had taken to the male and wanted to know more." why did you come this far out anyways?"he starts moving towards his kingdom and further from his own. He didn't carry lightly, Before getting to far her turns. " Oops." He grabs the beast by hoofs and throws it over his shoulder. The beast larger than the two boys looked like a rag doll in Henry's arms. " Don't want to forget this." You cant give charity to those traitors.he heard his father in his head, yet a smile came to his face. He wasn't Henry he was a hunter, no ties to either kingdom, not right now at least.
Aki blushes at the smile, though he waves it off as because of the question, which he did not have an answer for at the moment. He hadn't thought that far ahead, and now all the town names were jumbled up in his head. He would accidentally give a port town now, if his state of mind was anything to judge by. "No, I'm sorry." He says, voice a little faint. He was mortified now.
He looks up at the next question. It was a simple one, one he didn't have to think about to answer. Then again, the reason he had ready was not one he could give, so he closes the mouth he had just barely parted to reply. He shakes his head, and somehow through the buzz that was going on in his head and through the jumbled haze of words, he puts together a sentence. "My aunt liked a plant that only grows in the forest, and I thought I'd get her some." An innocent pause as he scrambles to pull answers together. "I must have dropped them." He says, wondering if he was blabbering.
Henry looks over at Aki either the man was lying or scared, henry had too much adrenaline still in his system to tell." Hmm must be a very rare plant then." He teases at this point he knew the boy was lying and most likely doing something he shouldn't have. There was a little evil in the other kingdom, faint devious but not purely evil."You don't have to lie either. I'm here all the time I would have seen you before."He shifts the animal on his arm. They were close enough to begin hearing the busying of the town. " its okay to explore I just wont go far..." he keep walking and at a random commoner who seemed poorer he dropped the animal off. " be careful." he warns aki with a wink. Henry was late home and his dad would kill him.
Aki's blush turns a few shades darker. "It's just... I'm not supposed to be here at all." He admits. "My father would kill me if he knew." Or something along those lines. It would look bad if he killed his son, but there would be some form of punishment coming. He hopes his escape hadn't been noticed yet.
He nods at the advice, then looks away, just slightly so that he as looking over Henry's shoulder, at the wink. "Do you think we could meet again?" He asks suddenly, not really sure why. He only knew that he wanted to see Henry again, sometime or later.
Henry understood the scorn of a father. He understood it well. Henry nods." You can see me anytime, i'm in the forest from dusk until now, on a normal day."Usually...unless dad makes plans or conferences... Henry sighs lightly to not show the younger male his disappointment with his real life. " I really do have to go, and its just down the way.." he lies and uses his head to gesture off towards the woods. " its a few towns over and its faster through the woods. " Now caught up in his lie he had started to ramble. he stopped himself by pulling on his lip cuff and running his fingers through his hair. " okay sorry, see you around Aki." he waves. He had to get all the way back across the woods and soon. He takes off in the direction he told Aki he lived but after he thought he was out of sight he ran in the direction towards his true home." Im going to owe him a whole lot of work hours..."
Aki smiles brightly. "Then I'll see you later." He says, for a second forgetting that his father was going to be very angry if he didn't get back soon. He nods and waves a goodbye, waiting until he could no longer see Henry, and then turns and makes a run for home, wondering how the meetings were going. He wouldn't have to go for a while yet, but eventually he'd be expected to attend, as a part of his education, if nothing else. He sighs, not looking forward to having to deal with all the political nonsense, but knowing he'd have to deal with it eventually anyhow. He picks up the pace, determined to get home before his father noticed.
For the first time that day henry was scared. He ran hard and fast across the forest and thankfully was able to avoid the animals who lurked there. When he reached the outskirts there his father was, all beer bellied and menacing as ever. His father rose his sword to henry's cheek and smiles wickedly, his dad wasn't evil to his people, just his son. henry barley could tell what was evil from not. " Hi dad." Henry smiles back just as wickedly." was I late I couldn't tell, so much cover from the trees."his heart was racing though his poker face was great. " Yes, You where Henry." The swift move from the sword on Henry's cheek to his hostler made Henry jump. Blood trickled down his cheek. " I'll TRY to never do it again." henry bites his lip. His father was a push over, most of the time.
Aki gets home just in time, and he runs to his rooms and changes into a robe. "Jae, would you run me a bath?" He asks, wanting to get the scent of the forest, his terror, and the town off of him before he went to see his father. His footman bows and gets one ready, getting him and helping him undress once the bath is full and at the perfect temperature.
He bathes quickly and then dresses even faster, though not messily. Jae makes certain that his clothes are in order before letting him leave to greet his father. Once done, he goes down and bows. "Father, how were the meetings?" He asks. His father, a tall, fit man who looked much younger than he really should, frowns. "We're at another stalemate." He says. He looks Aki over. "Why the sudden afternoon bath?" "I wanted to freshen up before dinner." Aki lies. His father looks at him questioningly but says nothing further on the subject.
Henry followed his father in the town being flanked by guards. " Dad why did you even come out?" His father lays an eye on henry. " Does it matter to you henry? I care about my only heir"Henry rolls his eyes." What about cousin kevin? "He looks over at a guard. " Could you please get me a patch for my cheek?"He smiles lightly it was hurting in the air. "Henry, son, we have a meeting with the priest. Please don't look like a twit."He slides into a carriage that had awaited them, henry follows amazed as the guard he asked to fetch him a patch had it ready as he sat down. People waved at the men and Henry smiled lightly back. Henry laughs at his father. " I'll wear as I please father.." His father sighed knowing he'd only made it worse. They reached mansion/castle of sorts and runs upstairs to his room. The dark red and black room screamed goth punk but was a wonderful and beautiful. " Not dress like a twit.." He mumbles. " I can do as I want, ill go back and just marry that boy if I want."he fusses.
