Since joining twitter, Noemi felt a little better about meeting people. It seemed many of the newer hunters like herself lived in the basement, and were either nearby or...far away like Tobias.
As such, Noemi had taken to slowly exploring the dungeonesque rooms, slowly adapting herself to the cold dark and damp area.
Even now, she was passing room 15 and down, waving a flashlight around to make sure nothing popped out. Perhaps she could meet someone to join her on her exploration! Or perhaps she would meet an enemy. EITHER WAY.Melodine Cantus Wow this start just kind of sucks

The door to B16 swung open and soon, Noemi was greeted with a brunette that had a puzzled look on her face upon noticing her in the hallway. Gray eyes swept down to the flashlight in the other girl's hand, and Kylee finally spoke.
"There isn't a blackout, is there?" Sure, she had just left her room, but it was after frustrated tossing and turning in her bed that she decided to get up and take a nightly jog like she usually did. Kylee Chang was a night owl, having been used to it in her time in college, and insomnia seemed to hit her more often after the conclusion of her first mission.
Though she would never admit to anyone that it was probably because of the dreams of hot swirling sand, countless sharp teeth, and the sensation of blistering fire and insects crawling up her spine.

Soon as the door swung open, Noemi's flashlight bobbled in her hands and she stared at the female with wide eyes.
Mostly because she didn't expect people to be up at this time. Who was up this late?!!? Well she was, but that's because she was trying to explore and get over her fears. It was increasingly hard to do when people just popped out of rooms.
"B...Blackout?" She shook her head. "Ah no, No sorry, no black out. Ah...Was going to...face fears of basement? Going to explore more at end, the pit and then go to bed. Need...." Noemi rambled, "I did not mean to wake you."

"Is it really that scary down here?" Sure, she had sensed the presence of other entities lurking in the dark all her life, but it didn't necessarily mean she had to have nyctophobia. Besides, she had a huge a** spear she could summon anytime, and that helped.
"It's alright, really." Kylee smiled, giving a small dismissive wave. "I couldn't sleep." I usually can't. Words unspoken that only Akila could hear, and her weapon only gave her a soft sigh in return.
Wait. "There's a pit down here?"['/size]

"It...It could be? Tobias live in doll room, with creepy dolls. And All rooms had some kind of boxes with torture things. Tobias and Milo say this use to be dungeon..." Noemi said, looking over her shoulder as if either of the two boys would pop out to confirm it.
When neither did, she relaxed a bit.
"Not good sleeper for night? Night owl? Papi was like that, always checking animals at night, make sure crops are good." Noemi turned her flashlight down the hallway. "Tobias said storm came, super rain and flooded downstairs pit...and bones came up." Noemi shuddered, "They had to put bones back after pit emptied of water."

Creepy... dolls? Noemi received a blank stare, but what she said next intrigued Kylee. Torture items? Wait... was she referring to the iron rings on the walls of her room?
...She wondered why she hadn't made a connection sooner.
"Farm life must have been rather different, compared to this." Kylee said. She had grown up in a city, so she hadn't really been used to country life, or even known how country life was like except from what she had learned from portrayals in the media.

"Farm life is very distant. Much more complicated. Much more people. Not so many animals." Noemi sighed. "O....Oh....Do...do you want..."
She shifted.
"Do you want to come see the pit with....me?" Maybe it would be better with two people going.

So it was called the pit?
It was probably strange for a girl like her to seem interested in something as macabre as this, but hey, they all had the ability to see monsters in the dark here.
"Sure!" It was certainly more interesting than jogging around in an attempt to tire herself out.

Noemi smiled nervously at Kylee.
"Do...Will you hold my hand?" It lessened the chance of Noemi running away and comforted her in a way. "I can hold the flashlight!"

"Oh, sure!" The brunette offered her hand with a smile. After all, even if she wasn't particularly afraid of the dark, it was nice to have something comforting.
But this was so exciting! She wondered if they would spot anything down there.

Noemi squeezed Kylee's hand, as they walked down the hallway. Her flashlight bobbled a little on the stone walls, as they passed various room doors made either of bars or actual doors. She stopped for a moment at Tobias's room, noticing the small bag of food she had left for him was gone and reminded herself that she would need to make him something tomorrow.
"Sooo...so do you like the Island so far Kylee?" She broke the silence by looking up at the older huntress. "Have you met a lot of people?"

"Well, it's taken a while to adjust to." She said. But it wasn't as if she hated it here. "I like being able to learn about what I've thought were hallucinations all my life." Of course, there were times where she got homesick. But everyone did too, she supposed.
"I've met quite a few, yes! Loads when out on missions, though most are acquaintances. People here have been nice though. And very understanding, especially when I was very new and confused." With the exception of Caelius, but she chose not to say anything on that matter.
