Hey guys,

It is Luck-sama! Now I know I'm no perfect person and sometimes I do make errors, but one thing is for sure I'm not afraid to hear about it. Please, don't be afraid to correct something I've made an error on or suggest something for this Guild. I'd love to hear from you. Any changes or suggestions to the content that you will like to see let us know.

Yours Truly,
Luck-sama

I don't have a Facebook, so I think I'd be the least useful in regard to this, but I thought I'd post my two cents anyway.
Assuming that you use Facebook for vaguely similar things to Gaia as far as social networking goes, perhaps you could use the Facebook to get members who don't have Gaia accounts. Maybe even use it as a liaison between non-Gaia members and us.

Not sure how that'd work. Just a thought. Blerf.

while i do have a facebook, i usually just use it to keep in touch and talk to friends who are not on gaia. usually i keep fb and gaia separate, since while they may have similar purposes they have different features.

i really don't think you can use fb to do anything else other than post updates or announcements and that is only for people who do have fb.

Perhaps the "International Music and Respect" subforum should be titled in a way that indicates the threads about foreign language are in there, because I didn't know there was a foreign language thread for a long time at all due to the misleading title of the subforum. Or maybe the foreign language thread could be moved, I dunno.

I have a lot of ideas for threads involving foreign languages, but I'm afraid they'll be the least popular things ever and I also don't know where I should post them, since they have nothing to do with music and respect. Blerfle.

I'm also terrified to say these things because I hate sounding like a prude or something... >>; Sorry.

I try and be creative sometimes but yes it could be misleading. I'll think of a new name shortly. Hun, I always want opinions and ideas. That is what keeps guilds like this one going. My members should never fear telling me something because that is how I correct/improve my errors or mishaps. I will think of something to change that. Don't fear language not being popular. Chromosexual, myself and many members love learning Languages. Most of us have lots of places we love to travel and we LARP as well. So language is highly appreciated.

Luck,

When you get rid of or move threads that are negative or contrary to the goals of this Guild I suggest that you contact the members whose threads are going to be deleted or moved and explain why you are taking that action. That way they can learn what's appropriate or proper to post in this Guild. I feel that in the long run you may need to move or get rid of less questionable threads. Also it can improve the Guild overall. Feedback is important. If you have already thought of this I'm happy that you have done so. If not give it some thought.

Unfortunately I'm on a tight schedule as it is and people will do it regardless of constantly telling them/harassing them with e-mails. I've moved it away/deleted it but I'm not going to harass them or ruin their day for something so small. Also I've explained in several occasions. Every Category has an overall description and seriously it is common sense what goes in each of them. I do expect that member are aware of where to put their topics. This is a wonderful guild, but we have to keep it organized.

Dear Luck,

With some sadness I have to leave this guild for two reasons. 1. I work on the Afternoon shift and don't have the time to run my RPG Guild, helping out with the Anime Guild, and post on this Guild. 2. Also due to my condition I'm afraid of offending anyone here on this guild with comments. Sometimes I make mistakes that I wish that I could take back and I don't want to here because you and your crew are doing wonderful things to help others in need. I have a support system to help me out so most of the time I'm fine. I wish you luck (No pun intended) with this guild and I will pray that things go well for you and that you are able to truly help those in need and have fun too. Btw you have not offended me in any way.

Take Care,
Ron

Ron,

You have not offended anyone here to my knowledge dearie. I'm worried that if you pull back, that our friendship and many others who are friends with you may not be able to get a hold of you. That being said, I can't keep you here if that is your wish, but do keep in touch. You are a light here in the Guild and an inspiration to us all. I wish you luck on your life journey and I'm sorry I haven't been able to speak to you these past few months.

Hi Luck,

Thank you for your response. Based on your very touching words I will not be leaving this Guild. I'm happy that I have not offended anyone here. Sometimes I get a little bit paranoid when I don't get feedback on things that I have said due to my Mental Health condition. Just to let you know I have been going through some very stressful times. I have lost my 10 year job, and had to take a lesser job for $5/hr less. Also I recently was in a car accident. I'm physically fine but I'm a wreck emotionally.

Just a heads up. I'm going to let everyone in the Guild know about my Mental Health Condition soon. I usually don't do that and you know the reasons why. I feel that this Guild will accept me as I truly am and possibly support me. Heavens know that I need all of the support that I can get. As in all things in this guild I don't need professional advice. I have other people for that. Comments and support from caring people will be helpful and appreciated. Please pray for me and based on your feedback I feel a lot better now. One of my worst fears is offending someone. So on subjects like that I need reassuring every once in a while. Thanks for everything that you do for me and others, That's what true friends do for each other.

Take Care,
Ron

Ron,

The people here do not look at your mental health disorder as you. They don't look at me and see depression either. We are equal to everyone here. Everyone in life goes through times of turmoil, pain and sometimes fear. When that happens, we think it's best to pull back from friends as we fear overstepping our boundaries. However, friends should have each others back and should be understanding. Although I cannot speak for all friendships, I do speak for this one. I will not turn my back even if you said something completely insulting. I've never been that person who has, even when this philosophy has bitten me before.

I don't define you as your disorder, I define you as Ron the person. Because that is who you are. You are not a disorder. Just like I wouldn't define someone as gay or define someone as female. It's much more than that. Although it makes up part of who we are, it isn't us by definition. Stay strong. I know you've been through a lot, but always remember, sometimes it's more stable being helped by friends than trying to do everything yourself.

Luck.

True Friendship to me is very personal and something I value dearly. The closest people in my family I also consider to be friends and some friends I treat like family.

When you have a group of people that are friends and do things together I call it a community or a special family. I happen to belong to the USS Intrepid Star Trek fan club. They think and feel about others the same way that people in this Guild does. Usually I need to see to believe. Understandably like many others I don't trust in the internet. I do trust true friends. Some with my very life.

Luck, you and your wonderful crew members have started something in this Guild that has the potential to be as wonderful as the USS Intrepid is. The people in the USS Intrepid has a mission to promote respect for everyone no matter who they are. Also they strive to help bring about a better world similar to the one that's shown in Star Trek the Original Series. In that series you see a group of diverse people with different backgrounds, customs, and races on the bridge of the USS Enterprise working together for the common good. Gene Roddenbury was a visionary. Each Episode of the Original series explored issues that were happening in the 1960's. If you pay attention you can see the issues and the crew either dealing with them or solving them. They do whatever they can to help others out no matter what the cost.

Some of the things that the USS Intrepid has done is a lot of charity work like going to soup kitchens, the poorest areas in the city of Detroit, helping out and even making panels for the "Aids Quilt", bringing bags of clothes to the homeless who are in shelters, and so much more.

The place that we have done the most help is a special place called the "Penrickton Center for Blind Children". At the Penrickton Center the kids are blind and have an additional handicap like mental illness, physical disabilities, being also deaf, and so many other things. Because these children have more than 1 handicap the State, Local, and Federal governments and agencies have written them off and will not fund the Center or help out the children in any way. The group that I'm a part of goes to the center once every year to help out at a picnic where the kids get to meet their donors and the donors and the public get to check out this special place. The people that work their are the kindest that you will ever find and they teach the kids how to eat, get around, interact with the world, etc. My group has done fundraisers and over the years we have raised $30,000 to help them out.

The main fundraiser is called a "Trek - A - Thon". In a bike a thon or a walk for March of Dimes we get people to make pledges towards our cause. Instead of making pledges for how many miles we have walked we instead have them pledge for how many continuous hours of Star Trek that we can watch up to 24 hours. Can you imagine watching 24 continuous hours of Star Trek. I don't have to imagine that I have done it over and over again. Basically I watch Star Trek for those that can't see. Also I Love these special people and in addition to the money that is raised I also tell others all about the place and what they do.

The Star Trek fan club that I belong to is a special community that works together to help other and each other. When one of us is in need we call another friend in the club for help and they drop everything to help you out. This Guild has the potential to do the same thing that the club that I'm in does.

Yes, I focused too deeply on just helping myself by myself. Now I know beyond a doubt that this is a community that truly helps others out no matter the need and has each others back. I didn't see this at first but now that I do I know that this is the place to be where people actually care about others. That's unfortunately a very rare thing in these times. The experiences in my life have helped me help others as well. A bright lit candle shining bright for all to see in the dark world that we live in. I have not thought of me in those terms but it does suit me well and a very kind and true description of who I am.

Thank You Luck and to all of the other friends that I'm starting to get to know for being their for me and others. Based on what I know about this Guild and the people in it I'm truly honored to be a part of it. Thanks Luck for being their for me where others would not. I'm very moved that you have my back and that you will not turn your back on me. This is what true friendship is all about.

Yes, this is a long message but I wanted to tell all of you more about myself and to certainly comment on what you are striving to do.

I participate often in literate, and semi-literate RPs. On thing we have often done to keep members active is to create a sense of community. I was asked to join the guild, but didn't find much welcome here unfortunately. However, I am incredibly interested in the guild, and would love to see where you decide to take it. If you need help in regards with any RPs, let me know. I've run my own guild in the past, and currently help out as crew in several others (fantasy, fan-fiction, etc).
