He had been given a tour of the island, or at least was shown the places he absolutely needed to know about, and slowly his memories had returned to him. Once whatever he had ingested had worn off, his past came back to him steadily and easily enough. It was a lot to take in, but Bashshar didn't seem to be all to phased by it. At least the holes in his memory were filled, and he could remember his own recruitment clearly. Thank god he had signed on for this job willingly enough. It had been an easy decision. These were people like him, it made sense to join them in whatever hunting-down-monsters world they played in.

What actually distressed him, in the end, wasn't what he had gone through, wasn't even the weapon talking to him throughout the day, it was his accommodations. Apparently, all the regular rooms had been taken, and with space a commodity, the quarters had been branched down into the basement. A basement that had been flooded, had blood smears on the wall, cold tiles everywhere, rooms with torture instruments... The list could go on and on, and the worst part was that most of the acceptable (he was grading on a curve, here) rooms were already taken.

He considered himself lucky that he had woken up early enough that he managed to snag a room that didn't have bloodstains. But, first chance he got, he was moving the hell out of the cold basement and to rooms that were... actually intended to be rooms.

It is fine. It could be worse. Kanbo informed him, though she didn't sound very comforting.

"It's really not that great..." Bashshar sighed, loud and heavy as he stood in the entrance of his new room.

It had been days since she had left the infirmary.

With regular application of ointment, the burns soon faded away on her skin, although the memories would never leave her. The disaster of her very first mission; the way the fire had crept up on her skin like scalding hot insects crawling all over...

Akila said that what didn't kill her made her stronger, and Kylee had to agree. At the very least, she was still alive, and she would grow from experience. She just hoped that that particular experience wasn't going to be repeated.

She was getting back to her regular training as of today, and was all ready in her track outfit to take a few rounds around the facility. Akila was pinned to her shirt this time; her scarf was too bulky to jog around with.

However, she hadn't expected to see someone standing right opposite her room as soon as she exited. "Um, hey!" The girl shut her door behind her, shooting the male a puzzled look. She certainly hadn't seen him around in the basement before. "You're new, I suppose?"

Bashshar turned his head as he heard a door creak behind him, watching as Kylee slipped out of her own room. The girl was dressed as if she was ready for a workout, and was fairly cute. Not that he'd take that train of thought any further. Chasing after girls wasn't really something that dominated his mind. He had a whole bunch of other s**t to concern himself over, and the only girl he now thought of regularly was Kanbo. And he didn't like it. He wasn't even sure she liked it, even if she was the one who kept on talking to him all the time.

"Hey," he returned her greeting with an easy smile. He rather liked people, even if at times he was terrible at maintaining friendships and even expressing an interest in everyone else. But, then again, most of the people he had met before hadn't seen what he could see, and he had always been rather open with his ability to see what lurked in the shadows. It always, and pretty quickly, drove a wedge between him and other people.

"Yeah, I actually just got done with a tour of the area..." Not that he had actually absorbed that much information. Bashshar was sure that in time he'd get a better grasp of his surroundings, but for now it wasn't all that important, so why bother? He still needed to actually get settled in, first. "Uh, I'm Bashshar Kinley. Bas'll do just fine, though." One girl had already had difficulty with his name, he wasn't going to stress people's abilities too much. Still smiling, he extended his hand to shake her's.

Just got done huh? Kylee tilted her head slightly, recalling her very first day here in the Academy. That must mean he had just been awakened a few hours ago, and had been introduced to his weapon soon after. It must all be terribly confusing to him; she knew it had been to her. "Woah." She breathed. "Well, welcome to Deus! What's the division they assigned you to?"

"Bashshar." The girl repeated slowly. Kylee liked names and always thought it important to pronounce them correctly. She might have been blessed with a name (both her Chinese and English name were extremely similar too) that was easy to pronounce, but her ethnicity had made her painfully aware of the pains of people with non-anglicized names went through. "Nice to meet you. I'm Kylee Chang." She reached out her hand to shake his.

"I've been assigned to Life," Bashshar replied with an easy smile. In the end, it really didn't matter what division he had ended up in - he could have made due with any of them. He observed Kylee for a few moments, as if trying to discern for himself without having to ask what division she belonged to. It was hard to tell when the girl was just in a track outfit.

"You've got it!" He beamed, pleased that she was earnestly trying to pronounce his name correctly. The first girl he had met here had given up before even trying, not that he blamed her. Bas was far easier to say, and he usually went by that over his full name. Though, he hadn't remembered that when he first woke up, he was impressed that he still managed to tell the last girl to call him by a name he actually went by.

"So... what's your division then, Kylee?" Her name was thankfully so easy to say.
