Otherwise Known As: Cris, Agent Lorenza
Biography: A third generation Italian-American, Cris was born in North End, Boston to a middle class family. Her mother was an elementary school teacher and her father owned a bakery a few blocks away from their home. Her childhood was fairly comfortable and she was often tasked with helping out in their family business. After school, she switched between washing the dishes and taking orders as a cashier. It was an easy job considering she knew most of the patrons in their little community. They called her Tiny Tina as a term of endearment and it stuck with her until her teenage years.
When Cris was sixteen, there were many structures that were being renovated and new establishments being built. Among the buildings that was supposed to be torn down was her father’s shop. The man had no choice but to relocate his own family and move to a different city. Cris was torn apart by the news – she loved their neighborhood, she had her friends here, and she certainly didn’t want to move. Building up her courage, she went and spoke to the new owner of the building. She wanted to make sure he knew that she wasn’t going to give up the place without a fight. Despite her best efforts, their bakery was shattered into dust in two months time.
Moving to New York was a big change for her. The city was cold and its people were hardened by the conditions they lived with. Soon she found herself affected by this condition. She cut her hair short and often got into verbal and occasional physical arguments with people. Her mother didn’t like the woman she was becoming so she took her to church before school and slapped her hands with a wooden spoon every time she lashed out a curse. With discipline, Cris got back on track and focused her studies on becoming a lawyer. She didn’t want anyone to take advantage of her family like they did in Boston.
By the time she had graduated high school, her father had just bought a small office space that he was going to turn into a bakery. Since their financial condition was not the most stable, she had to wait a few years before going to NYU in Manhattan to complete her undergraduate degree. Her life became a routine between school and running bakery until the night her mother was robbed. While her father ran the store for the evening, she decided to take her mother out for dinner on her birthday. Stepping on to the platform to catch the train, a man in a hooded sweater grabbed her mother’s purse and ran out the subway station. She went after him with her might and finally caught him stuck in a dead-end of an abandoned alley. Blood was spilt as they exchanged punches, but Cris wasn’t strong enough to take back the purse. The man got away.
Bothered by how things turned out that evening, she thought about training to become a police officer instead. At first it seemed ridiculous considering she was clearly not physically strong enough to perform those duties. Then, her own interests started to shift – from textbooks to newspapers, from memorizing terms to memorizing suspect faces. At that time, she knew her heart was no longer set in academia. She wanted not only to think about justice but to actually act upon it as well.
With the reluctant blessings of her parents, she enrolled herself in the police academy. The experience was a test more of her will than her wits. No matter what challenge they threw at her, she was determined to complete it. In a year, she had her badge and her partner. In six years, she proved herself worthy enough to become an inspector. It wasn’t long after taking the position that she was going to come up against the biggest threat of her life.
Following the murders of high ranking social elites, Cris found herself tracking a deranged man asserting himself as the ruler of all the people of Earth. Although the task was not assigned to her, with all the media coverage these days, it wasn’t hard to keep up with his appearances. Not only did he speak like medieval nobility, he dressed like one too. She thought he was on a whole other level of insanity trying to subjugate people just like that. If she had the opportunity to meet him, she would probably beat him to a pulp. Little did she know that her time was coming.
What began as a typical day in the city quickly turned into a disaster when a dark void appeared in the sky, followed by extra-terrestrial looking creatures in flying machines. It was absolute chaos trying to reach the tower that seemed to open it up in the first place. Concrete was plummeting down and massive streams of cars and bodies were dashing the other way. The supposed team called “The Avengers” was nowhere to be found until a few hours later. Even then most of the city seemed to be in ruins. Doing the best with what she could with the resources she had, Cris began establishing a plan to evacuate people along with the local police enforcements in the area. Thankfully, luck was on their side as the heroes came through to save them.
She stayed back at the scene trying to transport the injured and secure the perimeter when she was approached by a man in a tactical suit. The crest on his uniform looked like an insignia for a government agency, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on exactly what division. He spoke about his allies trapped in the basement of a building a few blocks from her location and asked for her help. Not one to waste time, she gathered a few officers and investigated the basement. They were able to clear it out in under an hour. Interviewing the witnesses to form her report, she was not able to go home until early dawn of the next day.
The following afternoon, Cris was surprised to find out that she no longer worked for NYPD. She read the note from her desk and stormed off to find the Chief of Police for herself. What was the meaning of this reassignment? Who was she going to work for exactly? Not bothering to knock on the door, she smashed her fists against the wooden table demanding answers. Unaware that the Chief of Police was not the person sitting on the seat, she was puzzled to see a man dressed in all black with an eye-patch extending his hand to her. “Welcome to S.H.I.E.L.D., Miss Lorenza.”
Strengths:
- Speed: She can move stealthily from one place to another. - Aim: She has developed a good shot over the years. - Intelligence: She likes to plan ahead, but can adapt to changes on the fly.
Weaknesses:
- Strength: Though she can definitely hold her own grounds against a fist fight, she can’t plough through an entire army or lift huge objects by herself. - Communication: She can sometimes be a little too direct or blunt that her words can come out more like an insult or a direct order. - Collaboration: Most of the time, she likes to keep to herself. She prefers the company of few as opposed to many.

ARUN ◌ REDDY Otherwise known as:
Arun, Agent Reddy, Sergeant Reddy
Biography:
Arun was born the middle child of three in Los Angeles, California, but his parents were originally from London. For years the family would travel back and forth. His father, Dev, moved the family to LA to lead a successful business. His mother, Sarah, studied at Berkley but later chose to raise her family instead of pursuing a career. She raised Arun, and his two brothers, Naveen and little Dev until she no longer could. Plagued with cancer, Sarah died. Arun was twelve years old.
The death of his mother affected all the children of the house differently. Little Dev fell silent and Naveen lashed out. Arun chose a completely separate path. He chose to pursue a medical career. Arun worked for years, hoping to make his mother and father proud. Leaving high school, Arun was at the top of his class, and Arun had his pick of universities. Before he could make his choice, Arun was approached by an Army recruitment officer. Arun had never considered such an option before but it intrigued him, though his father was wildly against it. He chose to return to London, a home he hadn't visited since his mother had passed away.
Completing his medical school a bit earlier than on average, Arun returned to the states. Once again, his incredible scholastic success offered him nearly any residency and practice he could possibly desire. It was then that he received the bad news. During his absence, Naveen had joined the military and gone M.I.A. Much worse than that, little Dev had committed suicide only three months before Arun's return. Arun was devastated and his father was unreachable. It was then that Arun chose to call that Army recruitment officer.
Having completed his education, Arun entered the field with a sergeant's rank in the U.S. Army. After making a name for himself, Arun was approached and sent on several small missions where he acted as medic. He became very close to his team and lived to keep them and others alive. It was like nothing he had ever experienced. Facing many battles and seeing more death than he would ever want to encounter, Arun stood strong. He was one of the only soldiers on his team to face death as it was, and he refused to be numbed to it or turn it into a joke. During an explosion, his team was killed. He fought to save them but was unable to. He was wounded and still has shrapnel scars all along his torso and back. Upon returning home, his mandated psychological review stated that he could not return to the field. He needed to get back to the fight. His morals were unwavering and it was this that caught the eye of a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
He came to know her as Beth. She began to recruit him on a few of her own missions as their medic and he saved her crew more than enough times to prove himself capable. Beth and Arun began seeing one another and became very close, but after the first appearance of Asgardians on Earth she disappeared. After she vanished, Arun went looking for her. He couldn't find her and her team which he had become so close to seemed to have also vanished.
Arun found himself returning to LA. Being away from the field took a stronger hold on him than he would have thought possible. He found himself unable to sleep in his apartment, unless he curled up in his bathtub. He found himself unable to leave his home for more than a half hour before realizing he was no longer a part of the world he would try so hard to save. After three weeks he was approached by a strange man with a twitch. The man told him that he had information about his brother, Naveen's, whereabouts. Arun chose to trust the man, if only to get out of that apartment.
The strange man's tip led Arun to New York. He went searching for Naveen, but before he could make any progress the sky tore open. Within moments, Arun felt as though he was back on the battlefield. He rushed for the streets and helped as many as he could where buildings began to crumble. As he was helping a group of bus passengers to safety, he began to notice a few individuals in S.H.I.E.L.D. uniforms. He followed after them for as long as he could, but he was pulled away by a woman whose child was wounded. He fell back and helped the people of New York. Before the day was through, he had saved countless lives, a few were even S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, but when the battle was one the agents and the heroes disappeared. He was left in the wake of that evening confused. He spent the evening visiting local hospitals and helping where he could.
The next morning, Arun woke up in a hotel room he hadn't realized he'd paid for. He also found himself in bed, a place he hadn't slept in for months. He got up and walked to the kitchen to make himself a cup of tea. Sitting in his kitchen was a man with an eye-patch. His posture suggested military and the confidence in his face made his high position clear. It was also clear that he worked for S.H.I.E.L.D. Director Fury stood from the table and walked over to the whistling kettle. "Sergeant Reddy, I have a proposition for you."
Strengths:
◌ Communication: He can speak several languages, is rather charismatic, and makes connections with those around him. ◌ Intelligence: He has always been brilliant, excelling in his learning, and he retains almost everything. ◌ Strength: He has had regular physical training, is physically strong, and has had weapons and combat training.
Weaknesses:
◌ Focus: He has a lot on his mind. He wants to find his missing brother, his missing girlfriend and her team, and he wants to save the world. ◌ Stealth: He has worked on several stealth missions, but is a bit headstrong. He can adapt to the situation required, but when people are being injured he rushes to aid. ◌ PTSD: Having served in the military for most of his immediate past, he is still heavily effected by post-traumatic stress disorder.
