Character Name: James Rhoades
Codename: War Machine
Age:30
Alignment:Chaotic Netural
Powers: War Machine Armor
This suit was originally created initially by Stark to deal with the Masters of Silence threat; a later version, JRXL-1000, was designed and built for, and worn for a while by James Rhodes. It was designed for all-out warfare, and was also known as the "Variable Threat Response Battle Suit." It was not collapsible, and included far heavier carbon-composite-based armor as well as improved tactical computer systems and automatic targeting. Since the Masters of Silence were protected against Iron Man's usual weaponry (Repulsors and Unibeam), those weapons were removed from the first version of the armor. In both iterations, the shoulder mounted weapons are modular and can be removed and replaced. In the first version, both the double-barreled cannon and the laser blade were fixed (the flamethrower was built over the laser blade casing). In the Rhodes model, the gauntlet weapons became modular too.
The Variable Threat Response Battle Suit MK 13 aka War machine is redesigned and rebuilt from the ground up by Jim Rhoades. Jim spent 1 week going through all the enemies Tony and him have faced as Iron Man or as War Mmachine and going over tactics needed to defeat these people. Jim then spent a week updating the tactical combat computer with all the Data from Starks’s notes and from SHIELD files on various personal enemies and known villains in the database. The Jim spent another week studying the various armors and the improvements Tony has made over the years and then Jim built a frame around how he is as an Armor pilot. He kept the black and white coloring combined with a red glowing RT and eyes for a intimidating presence. Combined with the bulk of weapons and a voice modulator that makes his voice sound deeper and harsher it works to make most people think twice as he warns them. Jim put in variable weapon systems that ranged from nonlethal to lethal options. Now while this suit enhances his strength, reaction time and speed the suit is articulated also so he can fight hand to hand as needed. Jim went to balance the energy weapons with various munitions due to the bigger output of the energy weapon the less energy the other systems had. Now the guns, missile launchers and grenades could be recreated via nano-technology it does take time to reload. Gun ammo is the easiest, grenades next and of course more complicated the grenade or missile the longer it takes to be recreated and reloaded.
• 60mm Repulsors (Rhodes model only): Laser-guided particle beam emission units mounted in the palm of each hand.
• Unibeam (Rhodes model only): Multi-band light and force beam emitter. Can be adjusted for a variety of effects such as searchlight, heat ray, tractor beam, laser, image inducer and broad-spectrum (UV to Infra-red) light beam.
• Pulse Bolt Generators (probably Rhodes model only): Plasma discharges that build in intensity as they travel through the atmosphere, picking up static and ambient energy, for a more powerful effect than the repulsors.
• Force Shield: A focused photon emitter on the back of his left wrist that shapes into a shield.
• Electromagnetic Pulse: knocks out electrical systems within range, energy based weapon systems off line until rebooted.
• Machine Guns (Gauntlet-mounted): Fires various caseless ammunition types. Ammo is user-selectable. Armor piercing, incerdanary, fletchete, slug, rubber, stick and shock (tazer). Used for lightly armored vehicles and personal.
• Flamethrower (wrist-mounted): Largely ineffective while in-flight, but highly effective on "cleaning up" after fighting.
• Laser Blade (wrist-mounted) Yep he has a Lightsaber.
• Minigun (shoulder-mounted): Shoulder-mounted and using an electronic firing system. This is a state-of-the-art gatling-type machine gun firing caseless ammunition. It can be loaded with a wide array of various bullet types including stun and armor-piercing. Default load out is 1800 rounds of depleted uranium bullets which are fired electrically, minimizing moving parts. Used for against armored targets and to engage multiple enemies.
• Micro-Rocket Pack (shoulder-mounted): Similar to an assault helicopter rocket pack, holds a variety of up to eight rockets, including High Explosive, Concussion, Heat Seeking, Air Burst.
• Particle Beam Discharger (shoulder-mounted): also called plasma cannon.
• Single barrel missile launcher (shoulder-mounted): similar to a man-portable missile launcher, this weapon holds only a single shot. Smart missile that is Anti-vehicle and Anti-aircraft or other heavily protected/armored targets.
• The armor is composed of alloys such as titanium and Wakandan vibranium.
• Micro-Grenades (gauntlet-mounted) Flash bang, Tear Gas, Sonic, High Explosive Dual Purpose, Flare.
• Self-repair nanotechnology. Draws a lot of power to repair systems.
• Tactical database SHIELD files and Stark files on various people and groups.
• Combat computer Allows Jim to engage multiple opponents and improves accuracy. Can target specific parts on target but that limits Jim not being able to engage multiple opponents. Normally Jim deals with 1 or 2 targets and allows the auto cannon to engage or suppress other targets.
• ECM, Stealth technology and anti-missiles systems.
• Upgraded flight and navigation systems.
• Communications and Sensors systems.
• Energy regulator: Can shift power from subsystem A to enhance subsystem B. Example “Reroute all power from energy weapons to Micro servers so I can knock out The Abomination.” b]:
Bio: Former Marine pilot who met Tony Stark. Would later become Iron Man while Tony could not due to health issues and later would be known as War Machine as he received his own armor. He would serve with the West coast Avengers and get involved in other conflicts due to his moral bearing. He would come to odds with Tony on how he would handle problems. He would eventually be an instructor for the 50 state initiative and then for the Sentinel ONE program. He would oppose the Skrull invasion and Norman Osborn as he turned SHIELD into HAMMER in his personal war with the other heroes. Tony would again need Jim to become Iron Man due to a combined plot of Staine and the Mandarin so he faked his death. Tony was able with Jims help defeat his foes and be able to use the Arnor again. For some reason Tony decided he wanted to explore space after the Phoenix/Avenger event. While Tony is away he left Jim in charge of his technology, his suits and to deal with any problem that would need Iron man’s help. Jim decided it was time for him to design an armor for himself using Tony’s technology and help from JARVIS. Tony has Jim’s data stored for engineering suits of armor for him. With the help of JARVIS he was able to make adjustments to a frame that he wanted and tested out the new frame design. Once he was satisfied with the adjustments he made to the frame to suit him adding all the other systems and updated technology was simple. Rhoades created a suit that would allow him to fight in hand to hand as well as being armed with top notch weapon systems.
Extra:
Skills: Rhodes was trained as an aircraft pilot and studied aviation engineering while in service with the United States Marine Corps. He is knowledgeable in aircraft operation/maintenance and has piloted various aircraft at Stark Enterprises. Rhodes is an experienced soldier trained in unarmed combat and military weaponry such as small arms and weapon systems in aircraft. In addition to being a pilot, engineer, soldier, and businessman, Rhodes derives multiple abilities from various hi-tech armors, either designed by Stark Industries or extraterrestrial in nature. With his years of experience with both the Iron Man and War Machine powered armors, Rhodes is skilled in armored combat and uses a more physical fighting style compared to Stark.
Weaknesses:
Energy output: While the updated Arc reactor in the suit only has a limited power output. Bigger energy
weapons draw more power so power has to be rerouted to use them.
Software updates, corrupted data and hacking.
Heavy damage can shut down various systems until repairs can be made.
Self-repair systems take time and a lot of power to repair. Critical systems are priority.
