Zedkiel has traveled far at this point and had had many days were he had had to find a half arsed shelter from the suns rays. But it would be worth it in the end to get back to his mate. He wore scars on his skin from the sun and from someone who had figured out how the fight vampires. He hoped Onyxa was ok he hated himself for taking this long to go back and find her. They had been separated the day the herd had to make a run for it and they had had to keep running until the had finally found a safe place. As the prince of his herd it was his to insure their safety and now he could go back and find Onyxa and take her to his family and the herd could be complete once more. He knew she was strong he knew she would be ok now he just needed to find her. The say he had hid by the shade of a tree so again he had a few burns but they weren't to bad though he was pretty hungry. He licked his lips and started forwards he would hunt and look for Onyxa at the same time.

Caderyn- Traveling with Onyxa has been one of the best things that has happened to Caderyn in a long time. Intellectual conversations and stories told by both of them has made the days go by faster. He has been opening up more with each day. Though that doesn't mean that he had become more affectionate. After all he one to be all touchy or lovey dovey with another. A brush here, a nuzzle later on... just small gestures to say the least. Yet he is fond of the mare. Rin Long has even at times decided to ride on Onyxa's back at some points. Much to his surprise as the dragon usually likes his back as his perch. Glancing around Caderyn stops to look at the area around them." Shall we perhaps find some water to sate our thirst? Or shall we continue traveling for another hour? The sun hasn't quite gotten to the point in which we would need to find a place for the night. I value your opinion, so what do you think we should do?"

Dark Onyxa - "I think that finding a good place to bed down would be smart Caderyn. If we start searching now then we will have some time for more stories later on in the evening. I'll let Rin pick this time." She smiled at the dragon, she had come to care for both of them in their time together. Caderyn never felt the need to smother her with drooly affection and she appreciated that in males. The small simple gestures let her know he cared and she took the time to think hers out before she returned them. Rin had even deigned to ride her once in a while and she found that kind of fun too. Not being alone. Someone there, someone to talk to, a reassuring touch, helped to scare the demons of loneliness away she knew she still whimpered occasionally in her sleep but the moment her eyes popped open they were there. And for that she loved them both.

Zedkiel brought himself over the hill and looked down he suddenly smiled. Onyxa finally he could see his love again it had been so long. He would apologize to her from once side to the other until she forgave him. He took a step and then saw Caderyn. He stopped who was that a friend? There was no immediate thing that said the two were close but he watched for awhile longer. That look, she used to his Zed that look. This male was trying to steal her while he was away. He about bit his own lips with his fangs. The rage built up in him quicker then he could even think. And Zed was quite on his hooves as he advanced. Years of hunting would make one quite but once he was close his rage sounded and his fangs were bared for Caderyn.

Caderyn chuckles and nods."True enough. Rin. Start looking and please don't take us to a spot under a pine tree. Those pinecones hurt." Rin grins and moves up along his back."Fine! Hey! How was I to know they would come down in that storm and hit you both while you slept?" He looks around and starts pawing at the big lump that is under him frantically."Caderyn! You big oaf! Under attack! RUN! " Caderyn hears the sound of rage and spins around. Purple eyes lock on the other as his ears pin back."Rin.. go hide in a tree now!"
Rin jumps off and doesn't need to be told twice as he shoots off towards the nearest tree.Soon the dragon claws at the bark and climbs into the highest branches watching from above. He is worried for his friend. Caderyn glances at Onyxa."Mmmm you wouldn't by chance know this stallion would you? Or am I to protect myself from someone we both don't know?" His eyes doesn't leave the others figure as the other comes closer and he leaps to the side.

Onyxa glanced at Rin when he said the word attack, then looked up at the dark form barreling down on them. A feroscious snarl left her throat, and she leaped in front of Caderyn. He was hers. Then her date's words penetrated. Did she know this male? Her eyes focused on the tell tale markings. She did know him, but it had been so long.
But he had been the one she followed, the one she changed for. "Zedkiel!" Joy, confusion, pain, anger, pain. And now he was threatening caderyn. She snarled again and hit him full on. They crashed together and dug great gouges in the dirt.

Zedkiel crashed into her his eyes almost glowing with rage as he tried to push and snapped towards Caderyn. He was trying to take his mate so he had a right to challenge him in his mind. "Onyxa out of my way!" He roared before backing up. He was calming only slightly because she was in his was but he narrowed his eyes and seemed to be looking for a way around her. "He will fight me to the death as is custom!" He stamped a hoof well trapped in his fathers ways as he had always been.

Hearing the snarl from Onyna and soon hearing the name of her long lost lover. The pieces start to click on who this stallion is. Anger goes through him for what the stallion did to Onyxa. Yet he knows never to get in the way of a mare whose been scorned. Onyxa knows this stallion more and he knows if anyone can either get through to him or fight him off.. Well she has the best chance. He isn't a vamp and he knows that. Fighting isn't something he enjoys, but he would do it if needed. "So this is the stallion that left you behind."

"Your already dead Zedkiel," she screamed at him. "He is not a vampire in case it has missed your attention." She barreled into him over and over trying to back him up. "You are the one who left me for so long I got lonely. Where did you go? What was so important that you couldn't take me with you, I came back and there was no one in the freaking cave you big entitled pest!"
"Does love mean so little to you? I changed for you I would have stayed with you forever but its a two way street this thing called love."
"And yes Cadryn, this is the stallion who left me."

"You stay out of this! I already wish to kill you!" He shored at Caderyn for his statement. "That does not mean we can not die." He tsk she should know that. "Doesn't matter you are a vampire so anyone close to you has to follow the code as well! This you know as well!" Zed yelled and he did finally back up but his ears were pinned and his body in fight position. "Lonely we are life mates why did you not look for the herd?! We had to run Onyxa, the whole herd and you weren't there and I couldn't turn back. Not until now!" Zed shouted right back. "We were hunted Onyxa I was worried as hell about you but as the prince of the herd I had to get them to safety! Look at this!" Zed pointed to scars that were sun burned that ran down his neck and chest. Vampires didn't scar they healed. "Someone figured out how to hunt us and hunt us they did! They chased us clear across the land and we only just now found a safe place." He seemed to be calming to talk but there was still a murderous glare being tossed at Caderyn. He put his head up in a proud way. "I love you and Ive never stopped and never will stop, my heart has heart that I had to leave you for so long, but the moment we found a safe spot Ive been running here practically non stop. Even traveled the day when there was trees to hide below." Thats what the sun burns were from the specs of light that filtered through the trees. "Are you telling me that you don't love me anymore.....you....didn't look for us very far either......" Zed said his murderous look starting to vanish as he started to worry that there might not be any point to killing this other male. If she loved him but didn't love Zed anymore then what could be done save to question her love for him to begin with.

"You would do well to remember the code on not leaving your lifemate Zedkiel. I found no vampire hunters even though I wandered everywhere. Where did you have to run too? Did you fall off the freaking island?!"
She was sad to see his scars but no amount of pity would squelch the fire of rage that burned so bright. "How is the herd any more important then your own mate. Its not like any one of us is helpless. The twins could probably take on anyone who crossed them. I wanted to have your children. Be yours for forever, but I find that hard to do when you have been gone for months. I am not that hard to find! Did you find another mare to enchant?"
"How do you think I felt? Going from one herd to another and then suddenly loosing the one I changed so much for? You could have been dead although due to the absence of the rest of the herd I didn't think so. For all I knew I was your plaything and when the mood struck you, you just picked up and moved everyone but me. How do you think that made me feel?! No word, no note, no nothing! And if you think I'm going to put up with being abandoned by behaving like a spinster you got another thing coming. I still want a family!"

Caderyn remains silent as he listens. Inside his mind is filled with thoughts as he listens to Onyxa. What will she do? Will she be forced to choose between them? Does she love him? He knows that she does, but how will that influence her decision? Keeping track of the conflict before him, he wonders these things. Yet at the same time a mixture of feelings go through him. Fear that Onyxa might get badly hurt. Confusion as to this code they speak of. Sadness if Onyxa does choose to go back to Zedkiel. Yet he would understand if that does happen. Yet that doesn't mean he won't be hurt by it. Then last but not least happy that she is finally getting the answers she's been wondering for so long. He is glad that she will be getting the closure that she desperately needs. Sure he is angry, but with things coming to a point where the other can talk reasonably.. well he isn't as afraid at the moment. Still on guard he waits for the others reply.

"I didn't want to." That was clear in Zed eyes he hadnt wanted to and he wasnt lying about that. "Hunter? You mean herd." His voice sounded almost fearful. "And if you had found them you would have found us because they were chasing us..." He said with a sigh. "We went underground for awhile so yes in away..." Zed explained. "We..." He looked to the stallion with distrust. "Are still underground..." They had found a small tunnel system they were living in now.
Zed pinned his ears back. "The code...you it, you were taught it....the herd comes before the individual...I am the prince of the herd I had to stick to my duty no matter how much it hurt..." At the accusation he finally looked hurt instead of angry. "I would never do that....you've always been my heart since the day we met when we were just foals...." And now he felt it breaking.
"I came back for you the moment I could...I traveled in the day light..." He had in as he could to rush to get back to her. "So something separates us...for what is a tiny drop of time to a vampire and you can not be bothered to wait to long to even hear from me before you run to someone else..." He said as he lifted his head just slightly his ears pinning back. "I'm sorry I left you alone...I am ....nothing will change that. And I will always love you..." But then his eye narrowed. "But I can see that I was wrong to trust you with my heart." Yes a lot of this was his fault and he knew it. Zedkiel still thought differently from most though he was born a vampire. Born with a different understanding of time a mortality. A rush to make a family was not there because there was plenty of time. And the concept of how long he had been gone was different from what she saw it to be. So in his mind she was the one doing the wrong to run to another stallion. And now he was angry more angry then he had ever been in his life. His hurt and love for her would now be hidden under an utter veil of hate and hateful words. "Enjoy your mostly mortal family and watch them die as you never age. Because know if you turn this stallion." He looked to Caderyn. "You will be found and you and everything you love will be killed! Never let me see your face near my herd again for I will personally kill you then as well!" His eyes and body language seemed to burn with hate and anger but if Onyxa really knew him she would know he was hurting very badly and the anger was at himself not just her. "Heed my warning or die!" Zed said with a stamp of his hoof before turning and speeding off back from the direction of which he had come from. He would head home and tell the rest of the herd just what to do if they saw her. But then again that fire what dying as he ran away. After awhile he just laid down and just stared into nothing.

Onyxa snarled at him. So after he had stomped on her heart and took for freaking ever to return, insult her to her face and threaten to kill her? No way was she taking that lying down. "Come back here! I'm not done talking to you! You know I loved you, you fool but I never understood time the way you do. It felt like forever. I thought you abandoned me!" She chased after him so she knew he could still here. She turned to Cad and told him to stay safe, she would be back in a bit after she screamed a little more at the cretin.
"How was I supposed to know you were coming back? I had only left for thirty minutes it was like you packed up and left. I never saw the other herd."
Her heart had shredded in her chest at the words about their foal hood, now she stood to hurt at least one of the males she had come to care for. And she was still fighting mad and confused. What was she to do? Given time to think, she would go to her father but there was no way she would leave Cad to face Zed. Her new stallion would stand no chance against the angst.
She caught up to Zed to find him staring at nothing. "Is that how you profess your love? By threatening to kill me? You know I was common born, I have not lived centuries I still feel like I have a normal lifespan and I panicked. Caderyn came gently into my life, then he asked to date me, I was lonely, I thought you were never coming back, if I had known at all I would have waited."

Zedkiel snorted and kept going and if she had not stopped to tell Cad that she would be back, Zed would have made sure he vanished but he was pretty sure he had shaken her and it was fine to just stop and process what was going on.
He made a snort and a sigh as he heard her voice again. Zed looked forwards he refused to look at her. "Faith..." That's really all he could offer her as a way to explain.
"Go away mare..." Zedkiel normally called females he didnt know that. "...Its over now..you've made your point. You were mortal and I never should have fallen for you then, we've both made our mistakes now we must live with them. And my threat stays true Onyxa...there is no love in my heart right now." Zed growled slightly.
