Samoset wasn't in the best of moods this morning after his usual fight with Kennet. It had been over Kennet wanting to take a walk before Sam's arrow training started, which made Sam feel as though Kennet was trying to skip his training again. Would he ever stop avoiding the elders and taking so many ridiculous breaks? He was so lazy!
"Uuuuugh!" He groaned, lowering his bow from his target. He kept missing because of how upset he was! Stupid Kennet always making him fuss! Part of him wished his brother were his target sometimes, but he knew that his father would more than just object to that sort of stress release. He sighed, re-positioned himself against the tree limb he was on, and continued to fire arrows through his anger.

Aysun was whistling as he went along, ever the spectacle give the entourage he traveled with. Sitting on his shoulder was his Sprite named Flower, walking at his side was Pembe the Scorra, riding on Pembe's back was a baby Kinfa named Sunshine, and bringing up the rear was Kapila the maglardilla. They all tended to follow after him like the loyal little army of critters that they were and he seemed to be happily chatting with them, "I think we should find something nice for Chandra, maybe he will be less of a sourpuss then." He was saying to his group, "Hm... perhaps something sweet? Who could say no to some nice, tasty fruit?"
"Well, Chandra, maybe. If it was sticky enough it might get on his silly books." He realized, sticking his tongue out. He'd never get it. Sure, there were some that were good with using books for magical reasons such as Uncle Takoda but when it just came to sitting around day in and day reading...? Ugh, Chandra's head was gonna get soft, as was his body. How would he defend himself if he was all weak and squishy? Not that he'd allow anyone to hurt him, but still. He should be thinking about the future, about getting stronger, not about something so dumb as reading constantly.
Glancing toward his group he asked, "What do you think, should we see about hiding his books? Maybe that would at least get him out for a little while?" Pembe and Sunshine chirped in sync, seeming to be agreeing with the idea while Kapila seemed to buzz in disagreement. He blinked at his oldest pet before giving a thoughtful sound, "Well... if you think its a bad idea you could be right. You do know him best out of everyone. And you, Sunshine, you're to young to get a vote." He said, giving a chuckle as he patted the baby bird on the head gently. He was a pretty strange guy but then again he always had been a little odd, this was just another moment of him being as such.
Suddenly though Pembe gave a loud SQUAWK that got the full attention of everyone before they all turned to look at what the Scorra saw first, "An arrow?" Aysun mused, starting forward toward it, looking it over. It wasn't one of Uncle Jacin's so there must be another archer about? One with an awful aim since he didn't hit anything but the ground... so maybe a new archer? Or a prentice in training? Hrm... The group started to look around for any sign of who fired the straw arrow.

Samoset was in mid grumble when suddenly, a loud SQUAWK jarred his focus. An animal had made that sound, and it was a sound of shock or surprise... Could he have hit something? A grin formed on his face. He might have actually hit something! Finally! He hopped down from his position in the tree and headed directly for where he had heard the sound come from. What was it? A rogue Kinfa? A Nondwa? He didn't care, really, as long as he had hit it!
However, as he neared the ground floor, he noticed Aysun standing there with his group of animals. His hopes, once again, were dashed, as none of the animals appeared injured, and all of his arrows were scattered at their feet. He sighed, wandered out of the brush, and put on his best smile.
"Oh, I see you found..." He paused. "... My arrows. I dropped them when I was climbing up the tree!"
He didn't expect Aysun to believe him, but a shred of pride covered is a shred of pride saved.

In sync Aysun and his small, mismatched army turned to glance over at Samoset for a long moment before he gave a sighing sound. Oh, grand, it was one of them he found himself thinking as he turned around completely to face him, watching him closely. He had found 'his arrows' huh? So he was the one that was carelessly flinging them about? What if he had hit someone?
"Dropped... them...?" He murmured, blinking a couple times, then shook his head, "You really should try to keep a better watch on your arrows, you could have hit someone." Even if he had dropped it, not that he believed it given the way they were stuck in the ground, it was still a stupid move. Those arrows could have harmed someone, person or animal alike, it was something he really didn't want to think about. Reaching down he swept up the arrow that got Pembe all riled up, pointing it at the bug eyed boy in front of him, "You need to be more careful."
While normally he wouldn't care he couldn't help but to end up on the defensive at the moment. Not only had one of the arrows come close to harming his dear Pembe he also had some bad memories of those twins. At the moment he found himself looking the one in front of him over before he finally asked, "Which one are you again?" Was this the one he'd wanted to punch a while back? Or was this the one that had appeared better if only by comparison. He couldn't really recall, they looked rather similar and it had been a while ago... All he knew for certain was that one of them had grated on him more then the other.

Samoset's shoulders arched upwards as Aysun pointed one of his fallen arrows at him and scolded him for not being careful. Oiiiii, oiiii, he was still learning! He couldn't be expected to know the ins and outs of arrow care while he was still a beginner! He let out a huff as he relaxed his stance, only to face Aysun with an odd face. ...Which one was he? Wha...
"Oh! I'm Samoset!" He said, in a matter-of-fact manner. "My brother is Kennet, and he's out somewhere in the forest being a good for nothing, AGAIN."
He folded his arms against his chest and sighed. "You haven't seen him, have you?" He asked. "He's about as flighty as a frightened animal when asked to come training..."

Samoset, huh? He was pretty sure that meant that this was the far less grating of the two though he wouldn't say it was by much. So long as he was more careful with his arrows though and didn't try to get them stuck in his personal animal army. He'd much rather he practiced with, or dropped, his arrows somewhere that he wasn't. For the time being though, so long as he was friendlier then he recalled the twins being, he wouldn't mind chatting with him. Nobody else was around that could answer back in a coherent manner after all.
Turning back to Samoset once more he said, "Can't say I've seen him since the first time we crossed paths what feels like forever ago." He said, glad for that, certain that if they had crossed paths ago the two of them would likely have fought again if passed experience were to be believed. He looked a bit confused though as he spoke up about him being as flighty as an animal when it came to training, "What should he be training to do?" He couldn't help but to be curious about it, wondering if his brother was doing the same thing as Chandra. Right now he'd bet everything he owned that his brother was perched in a tree somewhere reading... such a bore. Was Samoset's brother just as boring as his was? Interesting... so it wasn't just him.

Samoset sighed and rolled his eyes, a reflex that tended to happen when conversation turned to that of his younger brother. Of course he hadn't seen Kennet, he was a master at finding hiding spaces, just like their father. If he couldn't find his own brother, how could he expect Aysun to be able to find him either? He stood against a tree and gazed upwards, before facing Aysun with a bit of a weathered look.
"I think the Earthling class would be called Spearman, if I'm not mistaken." He replied, pursing his lips. "He didn't think arrows were worthwhile and chose a spear, which he doesn't do a thing with. He just runs off into the forest and ignores me."

Aysun tilted his head to one side, looking for a moment thoughtful, then shrugged, "At least he is pretending as if he wants to use a weapon. My brother isn't even doing that, all he does is sits around all day with his face buried in one boring old book or another." He said, making a bit of a face at the thought. Crossing his arms over his he continued, "Sure, I haven't quuuuuite figured out which weapon I am going to wield when I am old enough to have one, but at least I am giving it some thought." What was Chandra doing? Nothing! He was just sitting around getting soft!
"It's like he doesn't know that he's cute or something. I bet there is some creepy Oban weirdo out there that wil take advantage and kidnap him or something!" He said, displeased with the fact that Chandra didn't understand how much danger he was in just perching in trees waiting to be kidnapped, "I guess it's up to us to try to keep our brothers safe, huh? It seems like they aren't going to do it themselves." It was something that he had taken upon himself, the need to look after Chandra, to keep him safe, to make sure that the scary things out there left him alone be it other people, dangerous animals, or anything else for that matter! It was up to him as the more responsible and productive twin. So it was the same way for Samoset here, huh? He was trying to take up archery because he had to deal with a brother that wanted to hide all day? At least they felt each others pain.
He looked from side to side a moment, as though seeking out a sign of either of their brothers, before giving up and leaned against his fancy scorra, "I need to figure out a weapon sooner then later, that way I can fight the next time those brutes show up." He muttered, half to himself, and got a squawking reply from Pembe. He wrinkled his nose, looked at the bird, and said, "As if you have given any input on which weapon I should use. Quit acting as though you have it all figured out." A comment that had the bird making a sound like it was laughing at him.

Samoset listened intently to what Aysun was saying, as if he were speaking nothing but truth. Sure, Samoset liked to read, but he would never do it all day every day! There were more important things to do other than sit and read, like learning how to protect yourself and your family! Which Kennet didn't seem to care about doing at all! He nodded along with Aysun and crossed his arms.
"Exactly! It's like they don't know that we're in the midst of a war!" He gawked, shaking his head. "It's so unnerving and irritating that my brother doesn't seem to think of anything but his own happiness, too! What about me? What about our family? He just doesn't get it! He needs to start thinking like the rest of us and prepare for battle!"
He sighed and gazed in the opposite direction from where Aysun had, before leaning against a tree.
"Yeaaaah, and I need to master mine." He said, glancing away. "What sort of weapons do you like so far? I knew as soon I saw an arrow that I wanted to use them, but I know for Earthlings, it's not that easy. My dad grew up in Yera, so he uses a hammer instead of an Alkidike weapon, for instance."

Aysun was glad that at least Samoset seemed to understand what he was dealing with when it came to his brother being difficult since Samoset's brother was being the same way. It seemed as though the both of them had to take care of their brothers, to keep them safe, "I don't know if Chandra will ever be ready for a battle... but it's alright, I will look after him myself if I have to." Though to do that he was going to need to figure out exactly what it was that he was doing first. He couldn't very well risk the lives of others because he was hesitating. So what to do? What weapon to use? Where to even start?
Glancing over at Samoset he gave a half shrug, "I... don't even know. I've seen so many different sorts. My Uncle Jacinthus uses a bow, my mom uses a giant hammer, my dad has this massive shield that is almost as big as I am! I just can't say that any of those really call to me, especially the hammer." Their mother was way to intimidating with that thing, he doubted that he could do what she did. No, he had to find something else, something that worked that worked for him, a weapon that felt right in his hand. He didn't want to have something forced upon him.
"Yera, huh? Uncle Jacin and Uncle Jacin live there. We live closer to Jahar, so that we are closer to our dad. He doesn't live with mom and us." He said, crossing his arms behind his head. He understood their relationship to a degree, that they weren't mates, that they had just had kids for... reasons? Maybe they just wanted kids? He couldn't say he knew the exact reason behind it. He leaned on Pembe lazily, patting him on the head, "Do you live in Yera too? Maybe the next time we visit our uncles we can stop by and see you there." He didn't mind this guy so much, so he didn't mind the idea of another meeting with him sometime. Maybe by then he would know more about what sort of weapon he wanted. At the moment though he was just drawing a blank.

Samoset's antennae twitched with interest as Aysun spoke, espescially when he talked about his mother having a hammer. They sounded so similar! They grew up in the same village, wield the same weapon, and both have a set of twin boys! He smiled to himself, finding the coincidence amusing, and moved a stray dread away from his face.
"No, actually, my brother, father, and I, live in Andile, way back down the path." He replied, pointing behind him. "It's an Alkidike settlement, so, Earthlings aren't welcome, but I can travel out to visit you! My grandfather, Cusick, lives in Yera with my aunt, Pahana. It would be awesome if we could meet up one day!"
Then, he cracked a smile, his mind going back to how coincidental their parents were.
"It's funny how my dad and your mom both have the same weapon, grew up in the same place, and, had a set of twin boys, isn't it?" He chuckled. "Do you think they know each other?"

"Ahhh, that's too bad. Can't say I really want to go anywhere that a bunch of scary bug giants live. Those women freak me out just a bit, they always look so grouchy." At least those that he'd seen at the tournament and during the war, they seemed so severe and as though they were always glaring at something. He supposed if they didn't like Earthlings that it would explain why they had that look on their faces, not to mention having lost in the tournament to Earthlings. Best that he didn't go approaching them, they might still be sore about it he thought to himself. Giving a slight smile he said, "I don't see why you can't come visit, I mean I at least don't care that you are what you are. Not as though I can boast about pure blood or anything stupidly unimportant as that." He was sure there were those out there that cared about such things but Aysun was far from being one of them.
"It is pretty odd... I wonder if they have ever met. I will have to ask my mom about it when I see her next. It would be pretty funny if it ends up that they know each other." He said, giving a little laugh at the idea of it. It was amusing enough to him, mostly because save for during the war Aysun and Chandra hadn't had much to do with Samoset and Kennet. Ah well, he supposed that it probably prevented a lot of fist fights between the lot of them.

Samoset's mouth twisted a little at the scary bug giant's comment. Even if it were partially true, his Sister's were pretty intimidating, he didn't really appreciate the way Aysun spoke about the way they behaved. They were raised to be strong and resilient, so, if that meant looking a little grouchy, he couldn't be judgmental about it. However, Aysun was an Earthling hybrid, and because of that fact, he couldn't expect Aysun to understand that. Not many Earthlings understood the culture of the Alkidikes, anyway.
"Pfft, they aren't that bad, really." He shrugged, shrinking into his shoulders a little. "They can be a little scary, but if you just keep to your place, it's as if you don't exist... Which can be kind of annoying, too."
He pursed his lips a bit and gazed around the area while he thought of another subject to talk about, and focused on all of Aysun's familiars. He had a lot of them, didn't he?
"Where did you get all your pets, by the way?" He asked. "My brother has a Maglardilla that he kept from one of his hunts, but I've yet to get a pet for myself. None of the ones around here really strike me..."

"Keep to my place?" Aysun murmured, then wrinkled his nose, as if anyone wanted that. To be stuck in whatever place those women felt that he should be in just so that they would leave him alone? Doubtful, not as though they were some sort of peaceful tribe, the only reason they weren't hassling the Shifters at the moment was because of the Obans. He had a feeling when the Fire Tribe was dealt with that those women would return to their old ways. Not something he was really looking forward to given all the stories he'd from his grandfather he thought to himself, "Hmph." Best that he didn't comment, he didn't want to start a fight with the twin that he could actually somewhat get along with he thought to himself. When it seemed as though Samoset wanted to change the subject he went along with it, turning to his army for a moment, watching them as milled about, "All over the place really." He said, "Kapila, the maglardilla, was one that just showed up one day and hasn't left since. Pembe followed me during the tournament a long while ago, looking for food, and Flower, my Sprite, was obtained at the same tournament by my father for me." After that he glanced over at the little kinfa before he gave a bit of a laugh, "Sunshine there... well, my Uncle Jacin found her, decided she was too small to eat, and gave her to me." Jacinthus would eat anything and everything so the fact that he hadn't eaten Sunshine was actually a bit of a surprise. Reaching out to pet Pembe on the head he said, "I am in search of a Radaku and a Raptrix as well, both would be rather amazing to get and to raise." He smiled at the mere though before giving a wide grin, "A Mammu too! Though I doubt they would like the heat of this area, maybe if I could find some sort of short haired variety or something I could get one of those." That could be fun to get to ride around on for sure!

Samoset listened to Aysun carefully and gave his head a slight tilt to the side. All of those familiars, how in the world did he keep track of them all? And their names, Kapila, Pembe, Flower... He counted them as they were referenced, his brows furrowing slightly as he lost his count when Aysun mentioned his uncle. Was Jacin the Kinfa, or Sunshine the uncle? No, no, that made no sense. What sort of parent would name their child Sunshine? He blinked the thought away with the introduction of two new words, Raptrix and Mammu. Again, his face became filled with confusion.
"What are Raptrix and Mammu?" He inquired, pursing his lips. "Never heard of such things. Are they bugs?"
