If you don't recognize any on the list, feel free to look it up and learn more about it (like I could stop you anyways)

I would like to know peoples opinions on the many different styles of trombone.

I personally would like a Bb bass trombone or a Buccin

Bass for large range and because I think they're cool
Buccin for looks. I mean, look at this!

So I play with the Pacific Brass Brand located in Salinas, Ca, and the director, Howard Miyata, lent me his tenor trombone. Now Howard is not just the director of the band, he tests out tubas for Kanstul, so one day when he asked me if I wanted to use one of his trombones I said "Sure!". The first trombone he lent me (which I still have with me) is a Bb Bass Trombone with just an f attachment, it is a very old Conn Artist trombone, only 200 made I think. The second trombone he lent me was an all copper brass tenor trombone made by Kanstul. Now this trombone is a beauty! I cannot generate a "bright sound" from it, it produces a nice beautiful dark tone. He told me the trombone was the first ever trombone from Kanstul and it was made by the owner of Kanstul and customized for Howard himself! It is so beautiful and I want it xD Unfortunately that won't happen since it's a collector's. Just wanted to share this because from one low brass player to another, we like sharing our equipment smile . So If I were to own a trombone.... It would be a Kanstul tenor, they are made mostly for jazz and look spiffy and unique!

I use a tenor trombone without an F attachment. It would be very useless to use a different trombone in my band. The only reason it'd be useless because there is 2 tenors in our SR. high band, 9th and up, and then theres 1, me, in the JR. high band, 7th and 8th. Please remember that my school is very small. We only have a high school and an elementary.
