Axel learned that he could absorb energy from a small age, when he played with anything that uses a remote control it would always die quickly and he would feel a little 'energetic'. When he was 10 years old the kitchen stove burst into flames and he created a small sphere that absorbed the heat until the fire was put out. He felt uncomfortable with the amount of excess energy that it nearly caused another fire when he stumbled and caught himself on the wooden table causing it to char up. At the age of 15 he learned how to use his power even better and learned how to project his excess energy into the form of a small laser that takes a continuous 30 seconds to burn through a watermelon. When he concentrated on his energy absorbing sphere he expanded it to a max of one foot on a pot of boiling water that brought it back down to in between lukewarm and cold. After graduating from high school he received a note and a knife in the mail with a weird insignia on the blade near the guard. The note said 'sharpen the knife and test the sharpness in a remote area', not heeding the later part of the note he sharpened the knife and tested the sharpness and it drew blood that landed on the insignia. His new found transformation caused the house to shake and Axel to go into a berserker like state and killing people when he busted out of the house by absorbing all their body heat and electrical impulses. He ran away to Cortez, Colorado and hid out in Mesa Verde learning how to control this curse to turn it into a new gift. After five years of isolation he mastered his altered self and powers and is ready to head back into the world. During his time in isolation he received one letter it said "beware other people for looks can be deceiving and protect your Core".
