Rep did not like Dr H. That much was a given. The man was completely and infuriatingly agreeable right up until the moment his patience ran out. That was no fun in Rep's book and had also ended up with him with one less n****e, one hundred percent more trauma and a whip which had given him some of the worst nightmares he could remember having. But it was also a grim fact that in certain matters, your best chance of not getting ******** around or blown up was to go straight to the man in charge. You might still get ******** around, but at least it would be by someone in power, and sometimes for good reason.
He had very little to no leverage to use on the man, so bargaining was going to be difficult if not impossible, but it didn't stop him from trying.
He knocked, though as far as he was aware, the door was never locked, almost tempting people to try and touch what was not theirs to touch.

"Enter," came the doctor's voice, mild and distracted. There was a new bird skeleton, nearly complete at the center of his desk. All around the room, tiny bones were perched and artfully arranged to stare at the seat in front of the desk.

Rep did as he was told and entered, and was deeply impressed by what he saw, it sent up one or two red flags the way behavior changes always did, but the skill mounting a bird skeleton took was undeniable.
"Looks great in here Sir. If you don't mind my saying so. I never did have the hand for the really small birds, I just stuck to their pelts." And though he found the man terrifying for what he was capable of, it was in Rep's nature to deal with capricious and often violent men and H - despite almost killing him - was still one of the most reasonable individuals he had met.
"If you are busy I can come back."

The doctor smiled at the compliment, all teeth. "If you leave now, you'll have already wasted my time."

Rep didn't miss a beat, H's comment lighting a fire under him, pressing onwards. "Right. Well I won't waste too much of your time. I need something, like wards or something. I'm opening a bar and I don't want ******** summoning their weapons in it, and I know they will. Jerry ******** especially, get a few drinks in him and he gives no ******** at all about property damage. And that's ******** fine, but not in my house." He was getting angry just thinking about it and had to slowly exhale before he went on.
"And I know nothing's for free, I'm no stupid, I just don't know what kind of thing you want in exchange. If it's even doable in the first place."

He smiled through the request and then held up a finger, "Firstly, my dear boy, congratulations. Does this mean you've decided to move on from destroying furniture to allowing others to use it properly? Truly, your growth has been a spectacular process to witness. Secondly," another finger joined the first, "it is indeed possible. If you like being helpless in your own business establishment should it ever be attacked. And thirdly, why would I ever do menial runework for some scrubby little Sun hunter?" The doctor lowered his hands, returning to the skeleton, "Really, what could you ever think to offer me? You already owe me very much regardless."

Rep hadn't really expected H to help him out of the goodness of his heart - if he even had any goodness stowed away in there - but he hadn't been able to come up with something to bribe him with before arriving. It was times like this Rep wished he was more of a forward planner and less of an impulsive questions kind of guy.
The insults didn't phase him, mostly because he still felt the same way about breaking furniture, just not other people breaking his furniture. "I don't care about being helpless inside it, hunters are more dangerous on this island than almost anything else that comes our way, and drunk hunters would be even ******** worse."
"As for what I could offer you, it is ******** hard, you have the most power on this island, you can have anything you want, I don't doubt it for a ******** moment and you are right I owe you a lot already. I'm no arrogant enough to think I have anything possession wise you'd want, most of what I have is what you've allowed me to have." He fought his natural urge to be pathetic, trying to be reasonable instead.
"It might be entertaining?" he hazarded. "Or like. I dunno, I have a lot of bones? I have Marie? I don't know what to offer the man who has everything. Maybe I can just get you like a ******** fancy business pen, or be your best friend."

The doctor's hands stilled as he lifted his head to gaze at Rep, eyes dark and empty.

Rep flinched pretty much immediately at the look, reflexively guarding his chest with his hands and taking a single step back.
"I mean... or not??" he stammered.

"You have Marie." The doctor's voice was soft and careful as he repeated Rep's claim.

Rep hurriedly shook his head. "Naw man I don't have her, she's yours. If anything I like, kind of belong to her right now. I just like, I mean I don't know, if there was anything else I could do for you, or her?" his tone got slightly more manic as he backpedaled like his life depended on it - which it might actually.
"I only have Tracey."

Dark blue eyes stared at Rep with out expression for several moments more, before the doctor smiled. "Get out," H enunciated in pleasant tones.

It was utterly terrifying despite the pleasant smile and pleasant tone of voice, there was nothing inherently pleasant about the Doctor. But he had not forgotten the advice he'd been given to show backbone and confidence in the presence of the man. He immediately reigned in his yammering and apologizing and tried to stand up straight.
"Sir I meant no offense." he said, fighting his natural instinct to run as fast as he could out of the office. "But this is something important or I would not have bothered you in the first place."

"But you are the best at it." Rep explained, as if it was perfectly logical. "Like, if I wanted a PC built I wouldn't go to some shitty guy off the street who could do it vaguely and might ******** it all up, I'd go to the older guy, the guy who knows his s**t and has done it for years." He waved his hands emphatically as he talked, drawing out computers and not-so-good computers in thin air as he imagined them.
"You are the head honcho, the miracle worker, if this was the north pole, you'd be ******** Santa Claus."
