Eliza didn't often go to the movies, it was something that involved a lot of sitting, but the trailers for the Winter Soldier made her really want to go for once. She certainly didn't want to go alone though, so she pulled out of phone going through the numbers she'd gained since she moved to the city and actually made a couple of friend. She decided on asking Dom because he was a lot of fun.

She sent him a quick text and went to get dressed, hoping he would want to go with her.

Incoming Text

Hey Dom, going to see the Winter Solider at 4. If you haven't seen it, meet me there? Going to get dressed now, byes.

He'd woken up a bit early for once and gotten in a good breakfast before stuffing himself up in his workroom and spending the rest of the morning working on an adjustment to a pair of skates he'd bartered an "improved" alarm clock for. Dominic was, for the first time in quite a while, actually focused and motivated to do something more than sulk and waste his time standing around on patrols as his knightly alter ego. And he felt good about it.

An incoming text, though, caught his attention. Without looking away from the screw he was trying to place (he'd removed it and then forgot to remember where it went) the youth pulled his phone from his pocket and expertly entered the password and scanned the text. He set the screw down then and narrowed his eyes; he'd already seen the movie, actually, but the draw to go out and hang with someone he knew was fun and interesting to be with was pretty hard to resist.

In the end he shot a reply back at her real quick, stowed the loose screw some place he knew he wouldn't lose it, then went to get dressed.

Sure, sounds like fun. See ya!

He figured she didn't really have to know that he'd already seen the movie. It was good enough to spend money to watch it again anyway, plus it'd been a while since they'd last got to see each other. Good movie in good company -- sounded like a pretty good deal to him.

After getting dressed Eliza grinned the text message she got back from Dom and grabbed her things, giving each of her cats a pat before heading out the door. The movie theater wasn't exactly close to where she lived so she had to take a bike, not that she minded. Her mother paying the expenses for her to live in the city meant she was old enough to drive but they certainly couldn't afford a car for her just now. That and her mother was a little worried about Eliza being behind the wheel.

She pedalled to the theater and locked her bike up before going texting Dom to let him know she was there and right out front. No sense in going inside just yet, it was nice and the movie didn't start or a little bit anyway.

She looked around to see if she saw him. It was hard to miss her, in her non matching outfit, with masses of bottom length blonde hair wild and free.

Dom got dressed in record time and shoved off, choosing to ride the bike for once considering he'd forgone his runs for how many months now. He needed the exercise and he knew it; flouncing around as a knight in the nighttime just wasn't cutting it, and even he felt like he'd gotten a bit sluggish and gained a couple of rather unwanted pounds. So after he grabbed a messenger bag and stuffed whatever he considered his "essentials" he hurried downstairs, got on his bike and pedaled off to the theater.

He spotted her without even having to try, thanks to the outfit she was wearing. Coupled with her signature 'do and the figure in the distance was a no-brainer. Dominic quickly locked up his bike, fixed his hair that got a little mussed by the wind, then bounded over to her with a smile and moved to pull her into a friendly side-hug in greeting.

"Hey, you!" he greeted. "Long time no see, huh? How've you been?"

Outfit for reference~ :> Just.. without the fedora. 'Cause he doesn't wear fedoras. >o>a

Eliza gave a smile and a happy wave when she saw Dom and happily returned the offered hug. "It has been a long time. I've been so busy with junior year. You know it really counts the most toward college. Have to get good grades."

She turned headed inside to purchase a ticket, her colorful clothes getting her many looks, not all of them good. "I like your shirt," she said with a grin, "more boys should wear pink."

"How have your been lately? Done anything exciting? I'm a little sad that summer is coming, even though I get to spend time with my mom, I do miss her so. It means I won't be around much because I'm going home for summer."

She purchased her ticket and waited for Dom to purchase his before heading in and going to the snack bar.

He has to come visit her in the summer!"

The youth gave a shrug at her grades comment, having never been too studious a student even into the present day. Still, he couldn't deny that the last two years of high school were pretty important; even he had to buckle down at some point and make sure he was doing enough to at least pass. And pass he did.. thankfully. "Sure, sure. I get that, definitely."

The two were soon headed toward the ticket booth, and her compliment made Dom smile a bit wider. "Thanks. I'm actually kinda surprised I can pull off pink, to be honest." Then, without having to look at her outfit again, he said, "That outfit kinda screams 'Eliza' you know," then laughed lightly. "I could tell it was you from a long way off."

It was good-natured laughing, and he hoped he hadn't touched a sensitive nerve as they got in line for tickets. Dominic could only shrug (again) at her question, honestly not wanting to dish out anything too serious that could potentially bog down the mood. "The usual, I guess," was his answer. "Nothing exciting. Just school, and not even all the time." Yeah, he was still skipping.

He went ahead and bought his ticket before meeting up with her again by the doors and going on inside and continuing. "And are you kidding me? I'm totally excited for the summer, man! No school, no homework, and I can sleep in even more than I do now!" At mention of her going home, though, he quirked a brow as they got in line for a couple of snacks before the movie.

"Oh, well that sounds like fun, too. How far is 'home' for you, exactly?"

Kaori_luv
Could definitely be considered an adventure he'd be down for. o:

"I'm use to keeping up my grades since I was on scholarship at Crystal when I first started high school and it just stuck," she said softly before she gave a classic grin at him comment to her outfit and laughed a little. "It is very me isn't it. I like color and patterns. I don't really care if it matches, though my mother insists I should try to match at least for company on holidays. I like fun, spirited clothes though. Most stuff looks so boring."

Eliza laughed and shook her head, it seemed Dom's life hadn't really been anymore exciting than hers. "You know you really ought to go to school like your suppose to. Miss enough days and they will fail you. You definitely don't want that."

Eliza gave a smile, but it wasn't the smile she would normally give, "Don't get me wrong. I can't wait for swimming and no homework and going to the amusement park and summer fairs, but I'm just going to miss my friends is all."

"Oh," she said softly, "I never told you? Hmmm, I live on a farm in the rural area on the outskirts of the city. It's amazing. We have all kinds of animals. I can't wait to go horseback riding and to see Cesar, Shake and Park our border collies. It's a bit of a drive, but it doesnt take to long to get there. You should come visit me this summer. Willie and I can teach you how to chicken chase!"

"Makes sense," Dom replied while nodding and slipping his hands into his pockets. His smile brightened somewhat when she spoke about her sense of style; he understood wanting to do your own thing very well, especially the part about parents getting on your case about that kind of thing, so it was nice to see the similarity in someone else's life. Kindred spirits, in a way. The "boring" part had him pulling on a playful, mock-insulted look though. "You sayin' I'm boring?" he returned, only to laugh it off.

Her comments about school only elicited a small nod out of him. "I'm trying, just.. hanging out in limbo is a little stressful. Not sure what I wanna pursue, so I'm taking the boring, general classes." Was he just making excuses? Sort of. It was partially true, yes, but by way of reasons why he wasn't taking school seriously it wasn't a very good one. Least that's how he felt whenever he bothered to think about it. Which wasn't very often at all..

Conversation drifted to her home in the outskirts of the city, and the idea of visiting sounded pretty epic. "Sounds like fun," he said with a grin, then furrowed his brows curiously at mention of a guy. "Willie?" he asked, his smile taking on a more teasing look. "Boyfriend?"

Quote:
Eliza headed over to the concession stand to get some popcorn and shook her head lightly. “No I don’t think you're boring. I think you're fun, we always have fun together, right?” She looked at the candy displayed in the counter while she waited in line. There were still quite of people out headed to the see the movie, which meant a little line for snacks.

Eliza shook her head lightly, “maybe you will be more interested if you take an elective. Isn’t that what they are called? They are apart of the general stuff right. Um you could take, art or gym or dance or anything? Put it in between you more important classes so you have a break.”

She shook her head once more at the question of Willie being her boyfriend and grinned, “no no no, we’re just friends. We have been friends since we we both tiny. We’ll i'm still pretty little but he’s like almost 6 feet tall. He live on a farm really close to mine, he even helps my mom, now that i'm going to school in the city. I think you would like him a lot!”

Quote:
Her suggestion to take an elective was tempting, but even those were hard to choose between, not to mention he didn't want to have to use up any more energy on taking a class he might not need for whatever path he'd choose in the future. Then again, it might not be so bad to find a class that might actually help relieve a bit of stress. Maybe a shop class? He always liked shop, even while he was at Hillworth…

He nodded wordlessly and gave her a smile as a response, getting in line behind her to grab some snacks for himself as well. He was a popcorn, hot dog and soda kind of movie guy. At least when he wasn't at home. So he stood in line with her, hands in his pockets as she spoke of her friend. The teasing smile stayed and he gave a shrug.

"Sounds like that situation you see in movies and TV, was it.. 'childhood friends' or something?" he said, leaning back to a chuckle that the guy behind him gave. His smile only widened before letting his eyes rest on the possible candies he could buy in the display window.

Quote:
Eliza didn’t even notice the little moment between the man in line and Dom. She really didn’t think of Willie that way. He was her best friend, but just that and she figured it was all the same with him. Eliza turned and smiled with popcorn and a box of raisinets in hand. “We’d better hurry or we’re going to miss all the previews. I love the previews especially since I don’t get to watch much … well really any tv.”

She moved out of the way so Dom could get some snacks and grinned, almost vibrating with excitement. Eliza was a very bright and happy person, almost never down. It was quite something. She waited patiently, “do you think its going to be as good as everyone says it is? I mean the last one was good and so was the avengers, but Iron Man 3 kinda went up in a ball of flames. I mean I liked it, but most people didn’t seem to.”

Another girl in line piped up, “its because its weird to think of Iron Man having panic attacks and not being what people are use to.”

Quote:
Dominic took his turn at the cashier and, once the man behind the register readied his items and he paid, grabbed his popcorn, hot dog, soda and two boxes of Raisinettes before turning to Eliza with his own opinion on the matter ready. Some girl in line beat him to it though, and he turned to face said girl with a curious expression before moving along.

"She has a point," he commented as they walked on to where the movie was being shown, juggling his movie snacks semi-successfully. "As long as the Captain isn't ridiculously out of character it'll probably be good. I mean personally I didn't mind Iron Man 3 all that much, but something did kind of...weird me out with those panic attacks and stuff."

He'd sat through an entire showing of that movie with Danika's side-commentary running almost the entire time. Dishing comic book hero theories and such was...something he was a little more than used to now.

Quote:
Eliza grinned, “if he can go through waking up in a whole new world and adjusting, he can get past aliens trying to kill everyone.” She gave a grin and turned headed to the theater on their tickets. It was nice to be able to have a friend to go to the movies with, she didn’t have a ton of friends, but after being basically thrown into this war she was fighting, she found that she seemed to being having a better time at making them, be it night or day.

“Come on,” she said pointing, “there are a couple of seat at the top. That’s the best place to sit and they are right in the middle, we catch all the action and no chatting behind us.”

She quickly shuffled up the stairs miraculously not spilling on of her popcorn. Even in the darkness her ample blonde locks could be seen bouncing about above the layers of colorful clothes she has chosen to wear. Really with all that hair, even on such a tiny person, it was probably best there was no one behind them. “The previews are starting,” she said in a excited whisper, “hurry up.”

Quote:
She made a good point, and it got him to drop the topic. He wasn't quite so passionate about it, though Danika had a way of riling him up, so it was easy to leave such subjects behind. Dominic followed her to their designated theater in near silence, only occasionally sipping his drink, up the steps to the very back of the theater. She seemed to think along the same lines as him, which got him to smile as he followed and took the seat beside her quickly.

"Alright, relax," he whispered as he got comfortable. The previews were indeed starting up and his eyes took in the gigantic picture on the illuminated screen before him.

The previews were all of movies he'd never think to watch on his own. Some romantic-comedy, a serious military-related drama, a suspense/thriller and an action movie. Oh, and animated something or other. He busied himself with eating his hot dog so he missed most of what was going on. Eventually, when it came time for the actual movie to start, he gave her a nudge.

"So, anything you're interested in seeing from the previews?"

Quote:
Eliza flashed a grin at Dominic when he told her to relax and get comfortable. She happily settled in to watch the previews excited, seemingly genuinely interested in them. When the were over she sat back and looked at Dominic when he’s asked her about them. “Well I just like going to the movies, so I will probably try to see a lot of them. Exploring the city is really fun for me. I didn’t do much of that before I moved here for high school.”

She turned back to the screen settling back and watching as the movie started, munching on her snacks. She was already laughing in the beginning with Cap in the jogging scene. She felt that was any powered person to be honest. When you powered up, it was like that sometimes, but you’d likely tire faster than Cap. She grinned at Dominic excited very briefly as the movie started to get more exciting, she could tell it was going to be a good one.

“I’m so glad I get to see this in theaters,” she whispered.

Quote:
Dom had his eyes mainly focused on the screen by the time Eliza had answered him, munching on his own popcorn and smirking at the opening scene with the Cap. He only managed a mumbled, "Hm? Yeah.. we can explore the city as often as you want," before the rest of the sentence was lost to the action that was happening on the screen. From there he shut up, fighting the urge to move to the edge of his seat as Nick Fury was ambushed and the main bad guy was introduced.

Dominic had half a popcorn held to his lips during the whole thing.

"Holy crap…" he muttered when Fury finally escaped and the scene transitioned to something happening at night. "That was epic…"

Quote:
Eliza nodded excited moving forward to sit on the edge of her seat. She watched as the movie continued and Cap found Nick inside his apartment. It was quite curious and then her mouth dropped open as Nick was shot and Cap went after the bad guy who blew up Nick’s car in the first place. She looked wide-eyed at Dom before looking back to the screen. The bad guy escaped and then Nick died and Eliza made a face whispering, “oh no.”

She didnt have time to think about it as Cap went to Shield to get some answers but ended up having to fight his way out and downing a plane with his shield in the process. At the moment, if she moved any further toward the end of her seat she was simply going to fall out of it, but the movie was really good and had plenty to keep the audience entertained.

Quote:
The movie did a really, really great job at keeping him quiet. All the sounds Eliza would probably hear from his side were popcorn munching and soda sipping, but aside from that there was nothing. Oh, and the occasional gasp. Dominic kept his blue eyes glued to the screen and watched the elevator kissing scene (and became mildly jealous of Chris Evans right then because, hey, Scarlett Johannsen) all the way to when Cap and Bucky finally met for the first time in mostly awed silence. At that point, he stopped eating and blinked at the screen, half confused.

"You've gotta be kidding me…" he whispered, then turned to Eliza. "Did you see that coming? Please tell me no."

He turned his eyes back to the movie then, figuring he could listen to her reply while watching. The Raisinettes were his next target, and he absently offered her some in the process, holding out the box to her in case she wanted any.

Quote:
Eliza shook her head, “no, not at all and look. Oh no, Cap, don’t let them take you.” Her words were in a rushed whisper. She watched turning back to the screen as they were captured, rescued and the audience was in the for a shock when surprise Nick was still alive. Eliza practically vibrated with excitement. She declined the candy to absorbed at the moment to even turn away from the screen as things with Bucky unfolded.

“Um didn’t that scientist guy get captured in the last movie, um like right when Bucky plunged to his death?” She giggled slightly and shook her head, but watched on as they planned and an old lady was kicking butt, but it was suddenly Natasha. The actioned kicked up full force after that and Eliza stayed on the edge of her seat. The movie was almost over time for the final battle.

“This is it,” she whispered.

Quote:
He was right there with her, nearly vibrating in his seat. In his anxiousness as he watched the final battles play out Dominic had successfully munched through the rest of his popcorn and a box and a half of Raisinettes, and he munched on just as Sam careened out of the building and luckily into the helicopter.

"Holy s**t!" he exclaimed in as hushed a tone as he could manage. A wide grin split his face though, and he watched in expectation of the ending between Cap and the Winter Soldier, and it only grew wider still at the sight of Fury's gravestone some minutes later.

By the time the end credits started playing he slumped back in his chair, knowing there was still something to come right before the rolling credits, and he glnced over at Eliza.

"That. Was. Awesome."

Quote:
Eliza grinned happily cheering as Cap was saved by Bucky and bouncing back in her chair. “That was completely amazing. I think I could watching that like a hundred times. I can’t wait for the next film to come out.” She was waiting just like most for the teaser and grinned when the screen lit up with it. “Oh my look, he’s got the tesseract. Oh wow, the twins seem kinda like stepping into Xmen. And look there's Bucky. I really hope Cap finds him.”

The scene when off and Eliza stood up with a grin, grabbing up all her trash and bouncing. “Let get out of here. I know a laser tag place that might be fun, if you want to go. I haven't been able to go yet.”
