Welcome friends to the Nerd Guide. Here is a great place to get some awesome advice and hang out with some great people. There is nothing compared to having an awesome community filled with people who have gone through your issues and can help support you. Now, having said that; we can save us a lot of time and money by accepting the fact that everyone has their own problems and were not to judge them based on it. So if your are here for a problem, rest be sure; we will help you find an answer. If you are here because Gaia forums are confusing and boring. Then welcome dear! The Nerd Guide is here to be a place where you can go where you can find love, friends and family like no other.

The Rules and Regulations

1. I think this is the most common rule; so common that it should be second nature to respect the Terms of Service and Gaia's many Policies. I've already lost my account and my Guilds from not obeying this and I will not have a repeat. Anyone caught disobeying this will be immediately banned from the Guild.

2. Respect fellow members. This Guild contains people of all shapes and sizes and genders and orientation and race and so forth. We are a Guild that respects and accepts all people. No ifs, no ands, no buts!

3. Please post subjects or topics which can include a discussion. This is not a Chatterbox. Please post in proper headings and if I forgot to include a sub-category for an interesting topic, please message me and may or may not add it to the Guild.

4. Any and all advice should be taken in lightly. We are not professionals. Please see a registered Doctor, Hospital or local Police Stations for any Life threatening situations.

5. Keep the content PG-13. Minimal swearing, no cybering (seriously people? It's Jail-Bait), no graphic pictures, no things you won't show to your mother on a Sunday Night. Please and thank you.

6. Sources are important. Without a source to the article or magazine; it's stolen and will be removed.

7. Please no "What is your Favourite" or What is the Worst" Topics. There is way to much of that and no one really discusses it more than a single post.

8. You will never be charged gold, banned for in-activity or banned without notice in this guild. However, if a year comes up and you've posted nothing in the guild we may remove you to keep the Guild announcements cheaper.

9. Roleplays are the sole-responsibility to the person who created them. Unless the person of conflict disobeys the Main Guild Rules or the Gaia TOS, the Guild Moderators or Captains will not be stepping in. (Ex: If someone is not obeying your Be Literate rule, please ask the person to leave politely) If the person continues to disrespect you by continuously harassing you, come to us and well solve the problem.

10. Harassment via Online includes; hate-mail, constant messaging, sending explicted content, asking for cybering, asking of passwords, asking for money/gold, scamming, trolling, bullying and not listening when others ask you to stop. This behaviour is unacceptable and will result not only in a ban, but your account will be reported.

11. Please give thoughtful advice. The advice is there to help people. A single word will not help people through a situation. Listen, Think, Give before giving advice.

12. People can hate something you like. For example: Twilight; some people love it and some people hate it. However, be polite about it. State the reasons why you didn't like it or why you like it. It becomes an issue if you are telling them to die or rot in hell or anything extreme. You may hate an interest, but you cannot disrespect them.

13. We also stress for you not to post anything that involves extreme lengths for likes or notes. This is something called Guilt-tripping and is a very serious offense in this Guild. An example of this is "I will not cut if I get 100 quotes" or "I will not hurt myself if I get 1000 followers" This is not tolerated as it is a serious situation and we are not sure if it is being used as a method to get attention and not actually used for situations where you might need help. If you are thinking of cutting or hurting yourself, please go see a registered Doctor.

Selling or Advertising

This Guild does not allow any buying or selling of real money to prevent possible scams and false information. Please, if you like to sell art or Larp costume ideas; use a registered vender. There is to be no advertising unless you are advertising the link of a registered company of the US or Canada selling the content. For example: cosplaycanada.com is an example of a registered company in Canada that sells cosplay and other items.

This is to prevent scams.

I can't tell you how you trade your Gaia Gold or items, but please make sure to double check you are not being scammed in the situation. Double check all trades and items to ensure that it is the item you wish to get.

You may do Gold or Item giveaways. Links to DeviantArt, Fanfiction.net and Tumblr.com or any site that displays your art. You can advertise blogs, youtube videos and avi art. You may have a link to your marketplace shop as well. But please no money handling.

Any charity ads are accepted so long as you can provide their reference number, their website and their cause. Please no asking/begging for money. I understand being in a tight spot, but this is not the place to be asking people to send you money. Thank you.
