Nick was not expecting the knock at his door, which was probably why he let his head hit the front of a cabinet with a resounding thunk that made him altogether too glad Tallulah hadn't yet moved in with him entirely, and was in fact at her parents' house that night. Probably it would've woken her, and that would've been entirely awful to have to explain away, so this was just... best. For the best. At least at the moment, anyway.

But like, ********, he'd only been home from the hospital for like, ten minutes. Couldn't a crisis wait until he'd relaxed a little after a late shift in the pharmacy? No, probably not, crises tended to not do that.

He opened the door to Kaatje and another redhead. "What is--" and his words dried up in his mouth at the sight of the appreciable gash in the smaller redhead's arm.

"This is Luca," said Kaatje. "We share a mutual occupation. Want to help me fix up her arm so no one wonders what the ******** up?"

"Yeah, sure," he said, because how was he supposed to say no? "C'mon in. Tea or coffee?" Kaatje muttered something he didn't catch. Nick flicked on the common area lights and gestured to the table while he fished the first aid kit out of the cabinet he'd just banged his head on. "How'd this happen, if you don't mind telling me?"

Because if there was a risk of tetanus, he was going to tell her to go to the hospital.

He looked at the girl and, after a minute's thought, slotted some bread into the toaster. "Hope you don't mind whole wheat," he said, as he put the kettle on to boil. One thing he knew about blood loss--one of the many-- was that she'd need sugar and carbohydrates. Once everything was merrily ticking away, he frog-marched Luca to a chair. "I'm Nick, by the way," he said, taking her gently by the wrist and considering what he could see of the cut. "Negaverse Generals are nasty bitches." As if he didn't know that for himself. Sort of. Kind of. He remembered nothing at all about Avalon except what he'd been directly told, and he didn't want to remember the things she'd done to him in anything more than nightmares.

He got an antiseptic wipe from the first aid kit and set about cleaning the blood away from the wound. "I'm Super Sailor Oenone," he said. "Not that I've been patrolling lately. A little busy." The toaster dinged, and he picked up Luca's other hand and pressed it over the wipe and the wound. "Press on that, will you?" He got up and pulled cream cheese and butter out of the fridge and said, "Which do you want? You need to eat, or I wouldn't be surprised if you passed out."

He spread cream cheese on the slice of toast when it popped up, and then poured some water into a mug with the sugary powdered cocoa mix. Kaatje, against the wall, made another disapproving noise and he rolled his eyes, then turned around. "Oh, you know, the usual," he said, placing the mug and the toast within reach of her uninjured hand. Nick smiled and looked down at the injury, which, without the blood all over it, didn't actually look too horrible. "Blood loss does tend to make people pass out."

"I was a Negaverser, until recently. A corrupted senshi. I got better, though. It means I don't remember anything at all about being a corrupted senshi, though." He had practiced admitting that to people, in the mirror and in front of Finn and in front of Tallulah. "Completely useless as a source of intelligence information, but at least I'm a doctor, right?" He pulled a thin tube out of the first aid kit and twisted it open, carefully pinched off the flatiron top. "This's just skin glue," he said, carefully spreading the thick gel along the edges of the cut. "It'll keep the cut closed and clean until it heals, and then it'll peel off, like a scab. Try to keep it dry, huh?"

With another strip of gauze, he held the edges of the cut together. "I gather you're as new at this as I am," he said. "How long've you been at it?"

"It's alright," said Nick, "I've never dusted a youma in my life." He hadn't. Mostly because certain people wouldn't let him patrol, Kaatje. He bandaged up the cut with a nice clean piece of gauze, having re-capped the skin glue in its little tube. "I wasn't worried about you being scared. More worried about blood loss."

"C'mon," said Kaatje, "it wasn't that bad a cut, was it, Luca?"

Nick rolled his eyes and made an inappropriate gesture, which Kaatje returned. "Anyway, I was never part of the White Moon. The Negaverse... stole me, is my understanding." The last thing he remembered--and it must be the last night before he was corrupted, before he became Spinel--was a man with purple dreadlocks offering him a choice of life or death. And then... a smile. And pain. So much pain.

Nick's smile fell off his face, with his jovial attitude. He pulled it back on with difficulty, and taped the gauze down. "I don't remember anything," he said. "So I can't be sure. Anyway, you're good to go. Just don't tangle with any more generals."

"Not without backup," Kaatje corrected.

"I'm not sure," said Nick honestly. "No one exactly knows how I became a corrupted senshi. Not even me." He smiled at her and patted her shoulder. "Finish up your toast. Will you be okay to get home?"

"I can give you a ride if you're not," offered Kaatje. "As long as you don't mind motorcycles."
