Well, finding those two was certainly a eye opener. Zanth had a inkling Dis was a little more extreme, but he had never guessed the vampire would be that extreme. Though at the very least Marcus was alive, however in that condition he had to wonder if he thought of it as being 'alive'. Living as a pet to his previous weapon was such a bizarre concept, yet quite understandable. Plenty of ex weapons would feel the need to lord it over their previous masters, a good taste of their own medicine thrust down their throats as the ultimate '******** you' to being confined to a steel prison for so long. The question begged itself as to how he felt about the whole thing. The idea of stringing his own hunter around on a leash was certainly amusing, although not something he would employ on a permanent basis. He doubted Jason would be the kind to resist anyway. But he would have to keep a eye out for one in his travels, as well as the aforementioned ex hunter. The demon laughed to himself, again roaming the streets for the person he was so eager to find.

Laughter was something you didn't hear often on the streets. So when it rang out, the small earwings of a siren perked up. And followed the source. "Oh." The second floor of an old firehouse, Israfel quickly flew down to embrace Zanth in a warm hug. "Hello Zanth! You are alive!" The siren even went as far as to pat the fallen's face while his hunter walked peeked out of the building before jumping and slipping back in.

He thought he heard something. Zanth stopped and looked around for the source of the noise, then a ruffle of feathers made him look up. Wow, count him lucky a second time. He was soon caught in a warm hug by the siren, the moments shock replaced with a chuckle as his face was felt up. "And a merry hello to you as well Israfel!" He returned to hug, as well as the pat but to his head instead of his face. "And indeed I am, and so are you. A nice change of pace." He looked up at the building which Israfel had jumped out of, just in time to see the retreating head of a certain brunette. He then lifted a hand to wave at the retreating hunter. "And a merry hello to you too Solia!"

Solia's head peeked back out before she motioned Zanth to come inside, joined with the gentle nudges of Israfel behind him. Inside was a sort of sparsely decorated space. Cots, old salvaged Christmas lights to lighten the area. A tiny space for rest- yet hidden by walls of old bedsheets- more cots. A makeshift space for many humans. A hidden space. Solia looked half expectant at Zanth, hopeful even with bags under her eyes, with a body that had clearly, seen better days. "Is he..." Israfel peeped, "We help humans- medical, mental- its hard to fight them but we do good! Oh Zanth it it nice to see you again! With a real body too! You are all soft now!" Solia just kept looking at Zanth, the unspoken question hung in the air- where was Jason?

With a look around to make sure no horsemen were about, Zanthvos crouched then lept into the air, His wings flapping hard to lift him to the second floor where he peached on the edge before hoping inside, straighting his coat and feathers before surveying the area. With all the cots and beds lying around, he had the distinct impression that this was a small hospital, or at the very least a safe haven for humans to hide. It was intriguing to see Solia fulfilling such a role. Though he should of guessed that she wouldn't be the type of person to give up. Neither would Israfel. Both were the kind who wouldn't stop even in the face of such hopelessness. The angel paused, listening to Israfel babble about helping the human race but more focused on the hopeful gaze of Solia, asking the whereabouts of a certain human. With a glance he could see just how weary she was. "Ah, my dear Solia, you have no need to fret!" He reach out and petted the girl much like he did with Israfel. "Jason is fine~ I believe he is out and about in the suburbs, probably performing random acts of kindness and all that doctor stuff he prattled on about. I don't see much of him though, as it is better to remain incognito when you do these sorts of things." It was easy to orchestrate such a lie. Or was it more of the truth stretched out into a lie? If Jason was still alive he would probably do these things, so he could be half right. But with such a hopeful glance of Solia he was pretty sure telling here. "I have no idea." could break her heart. Better to keep her alive with a lie, then to kill her with the truth. "I'll have to tell him about you when I see him next. He's always going on about you you see. And I'll have to ask him about what he knows too. To help you out on the medical side of things. I'm sure he'd love to be in a place like this." He then chuckled. "Why yes, I am quite soft now. It feels much better to be in this body compared to my previous one. Much more flexible."

Though she smiled, that smile never ran through her. Whatever force might have once have driven her hope had long since been running on empty. "You're kind as ever Zanth." She held his hand briefly to express her thanks..and to just verify he was there, real, and she'd not just dreamed the encounter. Dreams of hope were often- and they could crush so easily. "But he's not with you is he?" Solia looked down at his feet. "Jason doesn't leave people behind. He's not that type of person. He'd also not go alone- and you'd not let him either. A weapon wouldn't leave their chosen, not if they cared." Shaking her head Solia moved to a cot, fishing out a tiny leather book- half held together with duct tape. Inside- clippings of the old files from Deus. Pictures right from profiles. "He worried a lot. Because he cared- If you're alive though.. that's a good sign." Israfel gave Zanth a helpless look. "She is smart. I let her make most decisions- I just defend and fight when we have to." Outside, gunshots echoed down the road.

Wo-hoah oh, kind as ever? strike him down and call him a gnome, that wasn't something he heard everyday! He gently squeezed her hand when she held it, watching her walk away to a cot. His little lie appeared to be as flimsy as wet paper. Either that or she had been more suited to the Death Division then he had previously thought. "Hmm, no he does not, I suppose." Unless he was guilt into it by Zanth's father. Nor would he want to go alone if he could help it. He could see Jason walking outside then about ten seconds later running back in begging for him to tag along. Hilarious, but non the less true. He would also, more often then not, accompany Jason if he went out. Because a lone human was always in danger. He would have to work on his deception skills it seemed. The tiny book caught his attention, and he briefly pondered the fate of some of the photos he could see. They never did find out what happened to the division leads...or had they all been killed? He couldn't be sure. Zanthvos merely shrugged at Israfel with a smile. "She is very intelligent. But I would still not worry. I sincerely doubt our fellow friend has perished even without my company. He can be quite smart when he's not making a fuss over things." Plus it might of been easier to find a dead body then a live one. Or maybe not. The gunshots were quite sudden, and with a glance at the window he walked the concealed brick side, moving his head slightly so he could look out it. Would these two decide to intervene in whatever scuffle this was?

Death had suited her. Death had been factual, an art of watching yet not acting. Gathering information was their skill. Not fighting, not healing. It pained her in that way, to know her skills and yet to be there, trying to do as she wasn't trained, skilled at. To do things utterly so out of her element. "Sometimes, I like to think of what might be if we'd done things differently." She muttered, eyes running over the photos. "If maybe there could have been another way." Hopeful hearts still, Israfel went to her, arms curling around her alongside wings. The comforts of a touch that had once been mental now nothing but reality. A reality of fighting and war and death. "If you get involved now then we'll have to move." Solia spoke, voice empty, standing just to pull Zanth back. "Once they start shooting words are white noise. They kill to kill, so it's safer inside." She felt empty saying the words. But then- "Oh, I still have something you know!" For a moment she allowed herself to get excited. Dashing towards a duffel bag, a large (or really just too big for her) hunter's coat was pulled out. It carried no symbol. "I... I made it. It helps me remember sometimes, that others might be out there. So I keep it blank. And maybe if I ever find someone who'd fight and repla-" Her words cut off. 'Replace me' was an admission. She would die. She would die out there, and her dream would never be a reality. "....... I regret Jason." A tiny admission. A tiny admission as tears began to fall onto the semi clean white of her handmade coat.

"I'm sure if your fellow humans would have thought things through just a little more, then we would have a very different outcome." He could see the dust flare up as shots rang out. He couldn't make out who was fighting whom but he was sure there were already casualties. Judging by the screams and cries of hatred ringing out. It boggled his mind as to why they kept these little wars up. Their weapons had no effect on creatures of FEAR, so it was all a wasted effort. He then pulled back once prompted, leaning against the wall with a slight smirk. "For all the power we had, it was used poorly. It felt like we just fought against each other instead of our intended targets. I would also mention that we obtained this power in the most inappropriate way, then waved it in front of the enemy that for all intents and purposes, were stronger then we could ever be. Because declaring to eradicate all FEAR by using that exact same FEAR is a little contradictory, don't you think?" The blank coat that was brought out seemed to bring Solia back to her old self, a brief spark of life that quickly died as soon as it was born. ""Ah, this is some finery I have not seen in a long time. Ahh, the nostalgia~" He moved to get a better look at the coat but paused as Solia stopped mid sentence, appearing distressed. Replace? Replace her? The tears then fell. Being the type of demon boil he was, he couldn't just let a girl stand there and cry. Slowly he moved towards Solia, placing a hand on her shoulder with a gentle grasp before moving her so he could embrace her much the same way Israfel had before, black wings encircling as he stroked her hair in a comforting gesture. "What do you regret about him the most?" He asked quietly.

If. It was a two letter word that could change so much. If only. If. An alternative outcome that had never come to be- Something else she regret- that she'd failed to change it, to change anything. Now that which she feared was passing and she was swept along with the tide of change. The waves of a war. "It's in human nature to be contradicting." She muttered arms snaking up to return his embrace. Israfel was her comfort- but Zanth was a rare gift. A brief and fleeting face of familiar. A tiny link to someone she wanted so badly to see and have hold her again, to make her feel safe again. "I was so... unsure then. Confused and confusing. He was so genuine I couldn't understand why he even looked at me." She clung to Zanth, noting how it was nothing like Jason. Yet at the same time, it could be all she'd get. "I never got to tell him how much I liked him. Loved even." And there it was, The word that cause her tears to take hold and start flowing, mucking up her face and mask of happiness. Of hope- breaking away into something so basic and human- Grief. "I loved him and never really told him."

Zanthvos was quiet when she talked, blood red eyes soft and non-judgmental for once as he listened to her open her fragile heart as outside the war still continued. His embrace was gentle, but he knew he wasn't Jason. Jason had no confidence with women and would end up hardly touching her or probably hugging her too much, while making sure he was absolutely allowed to do such a thing. Which was why he would be infinitively better in this situation then Zanthvos would be. "I believe he was asking himself the same thing about you." He responded as she cried into his chest. "He was astounded that anyone, let alone the opposite sex, would spare him the time of day. He is what you would the 'sensitive' type of guy. Very emotional at times, lets things get to him far to easily. And the fact he could see things when others couldn't made it hard for him to connect to other people. Not to mention that little stutter of his was a lovely red target for kids to just pick on him. Hell he's never been truly athletic either, more of a bookworm actually. Though being a hunter made things a little different in that regard." He chuckled. If there was any perks to the job, guaranteed fitness would be one of them. (You had to be fit if you wanted to survive. Also weapon powers ftw) "And then you appeared, out of the blue with your endless energy and flustered adorableness. Opening admiring him and talking to him as if he were someone of value. He had figured himself a castaway at that point, with no hope that anyone would think of him as a partner. But when he became your boyfriend...he was happy. He wasn't worried about intimacy, he was content with being that guy who would do anything to make their girlfriend happy so they could continue being with each other." "Although he was still afraid." Jason would probably kill him for this but whatever. He needed to man up about it anyway. "He's come to accept the fact everything is frightening to him, as much as he tries not to be. Oh, he tried. Most of the time though it would backfire for the guy." Much to his amusement, but now wasn't the time to be mentioning that. "I think he felt threatened by the idea that if you know just how scared he really was, you'd walk away." By the look of things though, he hadn't needed to worry in the first place. Judging by that confession and all. "You can tell that to him when I find him." No ifs or buts about it, he was going to find Jason.

Zanth wasn't Jason. Which was exactly what in a way, Solia needed. Someone who understood yet wasn't the guy she pined for. Who knew yet also wouldn't tell. Zanth who was connected to her in a very offshoot, friend of a friend yet trusted sort of way. "He was always worth something... he was worth-" She hiccuped. "A lot." Snifflinf she pulled away, trying to stop and bottle her tears and emotions. " Je suis désolé. Je suis être émotionnel." She waved it away, not wanting to face the reality. That this was her normal now. This war was her reality and likely, she'd not survive it. Not on her own. She laughed a little when Zanth spoke of how Jason thought she'd leave him. How he was afraid. Part of her knew that yet it was also part of why she'd fallen for him- because he kept fighting. He kept going even when he was scared. And yet when Zanth said when he found Jason. Solia felt herself breaking again. "Don't say that." She shook her head, though she smiled. "You'll make me hope again. Make me think that I might-" Her sniffling made her pause to wipe her face, "-I might see him again."

Oh yes. Jason was worth a lot, much more then Zanth was about to admit to anyone even himself. "Indeed" He responded quietly. "But lets not forget that you are a very valuable treasure as well." To himself as well as his hunter. And if there was anything he knew he could do at the moment, it would be to protect Solia. Jason would want that. Though how he would do such a thing, well, that was the question. "I'm not much of a fighter I have to admit, but I can lend my services in other ways..." He was trying to be serious, but unable to help himself he winked. He had been serious for too long, time to stirr things up a bit. Letting her pull away, Zanthvos just laughed. " Tout le monde est émotif parfois, jeune dame" At that he flicked his wrist, a white handkerchief appearing in his hands. Handing it to Solia, he then hummed out loud. "Hmm~, I guess I better not. Getting ahead of myself I suppose." Of course he was, it was the only thing keeping him going in this new reality. Because without Jason...well, what was he supposed to do?

Solia laughed, a tiny flicker of warmth finally reaching her eyes. The smallest glimmers of hope that were hidden under they layers of crushed and fragile dreams. "You would- but no. I don't think that'd end well for either of us." She answered bluntly. Dabbing her eyes she handed him the cloth back looking to Israfel who came around, settling to rest his head on his hunter's shoulder. "Bring him back." Solia wasn't looking at Zanth. Her eyes were on the window, cracked and covered with a tarp, the gunshots gone, just the wind now howling through emptiness. "Find him.. and tell him I'm waiting for him. I might leave this place but.. I'll be waiting. I will wait for him to come 'home' again." Home- a place of myth now- yet, her hand shifted over her heart, a small smile on her lips. "I hope he will understand that. What I mean."

It was best not to think about the trouble that would arise if he ever dared to fight the horsemen in person, and to instead focus on the small flame that had been woken in Solia's eyes. A flame that was much alike his own; small, fragile, waiting to be smothered by the weight of responsibility he bore. Not just for finding his friend, but for the family he was now thrown back into. Back into a life of lavished living and uptight wealth that was both a source of freedom and a prison. He was expected to act according to their wishes, to become something that would continue to bright wealth and fortune to them. A puppet for them to command at will. The mere thought of what he knew laid in store was enough to crush his core. The chains of being a weapon were nothing compared to the mental chains placed around him now. But at the very least if he could find Jason, then he wouldn't have to suffer his fate alone. "I will." He answered, his smile covering the inner turmoil he always felt. Don't show your feelings, put on a air of arrogance and confidence so you can manipulate the people around yourself. pretending to be a sinister, mischievous demon who in essense was no better then the frightened human you long to see. He turned his back on her, long legs taking him back to the edge of the window. There was no one in the street now, and a glance at the ground showed him just bloodstains and bodies. Without another word he jumped out of the window, falling a brief time to allow the wind to flow under his wings. With a whoosh he glided over the streets, a black mark that swiftly disappeared into the distance.
