Name: Elena Petrescu

Age: 14

Ethnicity: Romanian

Sexuality: Straight

Relationship Status: Single

Family: Orphan

Which school do you go to?: DWMA

School Year: 1st year

Weapon: Flail / Harpoon / Bola

Partner: None yet

Reason for being in the DWMA: It beats living in an orphanage for the next four years

Likes:
+ Spicy foods
+ Orchestral and Jazz music
+ Reading, History, and Mathematics
+ Singing and dancing
+ Having Money

Dislikes:
+ Sweet Foods
+ Electronic and Blues
+ Writing, Sciences, and the Arts
+ Spending Money
+ Arthropods of any shape and size, she absolutely HATES them

Bio: Abandoned as a nameless baby on the steps of an orphanage in Romania, Elena was named by the man who ran the building. While her childhood was not precisely “bad”, she would often refer to the orphanage as “The most picturesque slice of soul-crushing boredom in Romania”. She manifested her abilities as a weapon at age twelve, to the astonishment of many as she could assume multiple forms. It was at this point that some effort was made to find her parents, but there was no luck to be had. Two years later, she was scouted by the DWMA and she immediately agreed to go.

Unbeknownst to her is that she is descended from a Death Scythe whom was curst by the witch whose soul she ate. That curse led to her death and has been passed down to all of her descendants without fail.

Abilities:
+ Partial transformation: Able to transform her limbs into parts of her weapons.

+ Curse of the Burnt Witch: (passive) This curse is the center of Elena's ancestral curse. As long as this curse remains, consumption of a witch's soul will only result in regurgitation. This curse is visible to anybody who can see souls, appearing as black chains wrapped around Elena's soul. (NOTE: Elena is not aware of this)

+ Curse of the Imprisoned: (passive) When the bola wraps around someone, both they and the one who threw it are immobilized until the bola is removed. The strength of the binding is equal to the strength of the synchronization between weapon and meister. (NOTE: Elena is not aware of this ability)

+ Curse of the Accused: (passive) When the harpoon is buried in someone's body, the meister becomes physically weaker (about 50%). (NOTE: Elena is not aware of this ability)

+ Curse of the Inquisitor: (passive) The wounds given by the flail are extremely painful and slow to heal. Elena's wielder is also affected by this effect as well, applying it to all injuries sustained from any source while wielding her. (NOTE: Elena is not aware of this ability)

Personality: Elena has a fairly optimistic outlook on life, all things considered. ((I'm aware this is short, I tend to make character personality as I play))

Theme:
Black Mission Goggles - by Man Man

Hmm...not being affected by magic of any kind is a little op. You can say it reduces the effects of magic or that it protects you from a certain kind of magic, but generally nullifying magic can render some rpcs helpless against a character like that.

Fair enough, removed those effects.

Approved. Are you sure you don't want to add any more abilities?

Can't really think of anything else that fits the whole "Flail" theme. It's not a large weapon, a versatile weapon, or even particularly immediately fatal. There isn't much of an elemental feel to it and I don't want her having meister abilities. Did you have an idea? I'm open to suggestions.

Hmm...you could have the ball and chain detach and be able to throw it to wrap around enemies? And have it increase in weight when it wraps around them to drag them down.

Or you could have the spiked balls be able to deflect ranged attacks back at an opponent when they're spun fast enough?

Maybe have the chains able to extend the spiked balls towards opponents who think they're out of range?

Just some of the ideas I came up with off the top of my head. It's up to you; you don't have to add extra abilities if you don't want any. It's just that you might start wishing you had if you get in a fight with someone who's using their own

The first suggestion is more of a power a bola would have, while the third one is more suited to a weapon that depends on using reach to begin with. Flails are short range devastation with a focus on limb entanglement and disarmament, long range tends to just induce tangles and getting disarmed yourself. The second one is a shield thing, and (while a shield weapon would be awesome) it doesn't really work well when you consider that the flail chain is only about a foot and a half long (the longer one).

Well, losing doesn't really bother me. In all my years of forum RPs, I've never won a single fight! xd

Out of curiosity, should I think of something later down the line to add, could I do so provided I get it approved first?

Alright, it's up to you. And of course, if you think up a new ability you can add it to your character but you need to get the move approved

Are multiple weapon forms allowed? I was thinking that a weapon with multiple forms, each form having it's own curse could provide some versatility to offset the drawbacks.

Convenient!

Proposed additions:

New weapon forms - Bola - Harpoon

New abilities:
+ Curse of the Imprisoned: When the bola wraps around someone, both they and the one who threw it are immobilized until the bola is removed.

+ Curse of the Accused: When the harpoon is buried in someone's body, the meister becomes physically weaker (about 50%).

I'll also alter the curse of the inquisitor to only kick in for flail form and the partial transformation to work for the other forms.

Might add some backstory stuff about a cursed ancestor or something too. It'd give Elena a goal to work toward at least! mrgreen

Cool, now you're getting the hang of it! That's all okay, but remember that RPCs must have a chance to resist the paralysis caused by Curse of the Imprisoned.
